The Starlight Outcasts Pride--a beautiful and cozy place situated past a long river in a lavender field--is a group of any lions with any appearance, gender, sexuality, mutation, etc. that was founded by Grimalkin, an intersex lesbian lioness who was chased out of her former pride as soon as she was 2 years old. The pride is a place not focused on perfection or rarity. Submales, mutated lions, and anyone who may seem 'wrong' to others can stay here. Just existing is enough for any lion who's a part of this pride, and every lion is given just as much of a chance as anyone else.
During Grimalkin's reign as the first queen, many achievements were made and standards were set that really created the foundation of the pride. She had extremely positive karma, and she wanted other royalty to follow in her footsteps. She looked terrifying to some of the other lions that she met, with her dark mane and odd noctis spots. Despite this, she was friendly and caring, and a wonderful leader. She raised Jewel Beetles, realizing that the species was heavily endangered. She made sure to treat them well, breeding/training them and giving them plenty of space in the oak woods behind the mountain and edge of the pumpkin patch. When a jewel beetle died under her care, Grimalkin gave them the highest honor of either being added to her jewelry or being gently buried in the beetle graveyard. The collection slowly died out due to accidental neglect, but their original home still remains in its place for any beetles that find their way there.
As the founder, all the new generations of lions look back at her time fondly and even treat her as some sort of Goddess, and they will communicate with her and her lover California (the first broodmother who never had a cub of her own) in November. Even when she can't be spoken to in the stars, the fireflies will continue to flicker in the golden color of her heart and the beautiful sunsets will resemble her Deshret base. It's thanks to her that the pride exists, after all.
