Many comets ago, the Great Mother rose from the soil to create the first songs. Her hand grasped a speck in the blanket of blue. She gave life to the barren waste, turning air into water and breathing life into the skies and valleys of Pandora. Fire ravaged and waters flooded, carving the land into vast wonders. Rain came down from the moons and gave us forests, quakes creating the mountains, the wind gave us Ikran, the fire gave us light. Many clans inhabit the land of Pandora, Eywa molding us from clay, creating a balance of people and creatures alike. Eye for an eye, soul for a soul, those who fell into the hand of our Great Mother were brought into the world as a miracle- some becoming those of beast. Eywa takes and She will return.

The Palulucaya have mysterious origins, residing in the plains and rocky outcrops of Pandora's southern savannah regions. The inhabitants being four-legged and similar to Earth's long extinct populations of African Lions, researchers were astonished by such similarities and vast range of colorations and mutations. The Palulucayan species are seen as sacred by the Na'vi peoples of Pandoran region and are highly respected and unprovoked as they resemble the Palulukan, a large predatory beast that lurks in the lush foliage of the forests covering Pandora's surface. Surrounding folklore claim the Palulucayans are some of the earliest of Eywa's creations before the Na'vi came to be.

Led by short-term leaders of both Olo'eyktan and a Tsahìk, the Palulucaya is a large and sovereign nation known for plentiful resources and cunning wits. They have adapted to the rugged terrain that they call the Tirea Fya'o (Spirit Path), where the forest and plains Na'vi consider it the purgatory between Pandora and Eywa's path.

The Palulucayan beasts share the same sentience alongside the Na'vi and the newly introduced humans, having a system of spiritual virtues and holding ties to Eywa like the Na'vi peoples. The Tirea Fya'o homelands presents itself as a place of refuge where those exiled can find prosperity among Na'vi and Palulucaya alike, though locating their blue-skinned bipedal cousins is a rare occurrence, as most fall into the hands of Eywa on their exile journey into the plains.

The feliform's size can range vastly in record data, males typically reaching five to six feet from ground level to the top of their shoulders, females typically being similar or smaller in size by weight. There is very little known of the Palulucaya and their lifespans, some Na'vi elders believing them to have a similar life expectancy of 160 to 180 Terran years at prime health [compared to a healthy Na'vi], while human researchers are under the impression that they only have the longest lifespan of 100 Terran years at most due to the DNA samples collected from deceased pride members that had yet to be carried away by the seeds of Eywa
