Radioactive Wave's Den

You had wandered too far into the desert.
Thirsty, hungry and exhausted, you are searching for a nice place to rest. That place is not here. The sand underneath your feet became a hard ground, cracks in the water-deprived area. The few plants you spot are dead and wilted, the trees are black as if they'd been burned, a strange but potent smell in the air arises.
Death.
It smells like death.
Your nose scrunched, but the dehydration had you in hopes of water somewhere near. You continued walking until finally coming to a body of water, a little bigger than a pond. You eagerly approach the water, right before you could get a sip, a voice stops you.
"You got som' damn death wish?"
A husky voice snaps at you, a growl underlying. It's a lion, his back is red and scabbed up, looking burnt.
"Don't you know where you are, kid?"
You shake your head wearily in response.
"Yous in a nuclear site. You ain't from here. You can rest here for the night, but I want you gone in the mornin'. I ain't got the resources to feed another damned mouth… Well, stop starin' at me, go on. In that crater is my pride. Introduce yourself."
