In the depths of a forest with a canopy so thick day and night seem the same, you are bound to find something less than explainable things. But the Hushwood Crypts are far from explainable.

The forest seems alive; Trees writhing like muscles, the rhythmic beating of a heart with no discernible source, and you swear you can hear something talking to you from just out of sight. Scattered remnants of a long forgotten kingdom litter the forest floor, which is surprisingly dense for how little sunlight reaches the ground.

Time never seems right here. Day and night pass without the sun moving from it's pre-dawn position, lions within here seem to know of events that have yet to happen, never happened, and have already happened, and when you leave, no one seems to have noticed your absence, as if no time had passed.

And yet, life finds a way in these backwards woods. A pride of lions, who call themselves the Serene Pandemonium pride, reside here, their kings and queens holding power over an element, granted to them by the Sovereigns. The Briarstone Palace, a grand yet decrepit castle, is where the rulers of this withering society consolidate their power.

A seemingly endless journey away, the Faraway Bastion lies, an imposing fortress left to rot yet still full of life, reclaimed by Serene Pandemonium and turned into a bustling town.

The Backwards Moor, a logic-defying pocket of open skies and rolling hills within the Hushwood, is where the ruling class throw those deemed unworthy to live within the Crypts. Traitors and exiles roam these lands, and few are ever seen again after being cast away into this endless yet finite field.

These woods, these Crypts, these lands. This is a place forsaken by any sense of normalcy, any sense of correctness. Up is down, left is right, fish fly and birds swim, nothing is right here.

Beware, for there is no way out. You may leave the Hushwood, but the Hushwood will never leave you. You are lucky to have made it out with your life, yet you are still a seedling, the eyes, ears, and paws of the forest itself. Everywhere you go will be a landmark known by this elsewhere place.

Be glad, traveler. You are one of the lucky few, to make it out with their sanity intact and mind still raveled. The True Sovereign has spared you, but remember.
