DrakenFall Forest

Amongst the dead grasses and few trees that grow in the world of Lioden is the unusually dark forest known as DrakenFall Forest. Like the neighboring territory, it has plenty of foliage, water, and life thriving within its bounds. What differs from other territories is the way light never seems to penetrate the forest canopy is a mystery nobody seems to be looking to solve. In fact, light is so rare it's become a common story to say that day never happens within the territory at all. This story, paired with the haunting presence of the moon that never seems to set, makes it difficult to dispute the claim.

While the lionesses and submales do miss the daylight, it truly isn’t an issue. Travelers don’t mind the shade from the blazing sun, and the members of this pride adapt quickly.

Slumbrous River

The Slumbrous River runs throughout the entirety of the DrakenFall Forest, and is quite wide. It earned its name by having a dream-like atmosphere, one that can soothe any new lion or lioness so much that it lulls them to sleep. Every incoming pride member goes through this, and when they wake up they swear it’s the best they’ve ever slept.

Due to the nature of this, submales are uncommon within the pride, as most threats are fast asleep and can easily be handled by the King / Queen.

The Unknown Creek

The Unknown Creek is rumored to be somewhere near the top left side of the territory. Nobody is 100% sure, well, everybody but ‧₊˚✩ Regulus Who Watches ✩˚₊‧ themself, however, they won’t utter a word as to where this creek is. The only reason the pride knows of the Creek is because they overheard ‧₊˚✩ Regulus ✩˚₊‧ and their companion, Canopus, speaking about it. When anyone tries to follow ‧₊˚✩ Regulus ✩˚₊‧ they lose the lion and get lost in the process. They typically wander around for a few hours until they can make it back to the main resting area.

One rumor says it that there’s treasures beyond anyone’s comprehension in the area, while another says that there’s a magical pond that gives ‧₊˚✩ Regulus ✩˚₊‧ their strange appearance. The common and most logical answer is that it’s the ruler’s resting place, and they’d prefer to be alone for the night considering the lack of threats within the area. Whatever the reason, they make sure to not question ‧₊˚✩ Regulus ✩˚₊‧ about it, as it creates more questions than answers.
