Goldenhoard is a lioness who leads her pride, residing in ancient ruins deep within the Hollow Moon forest. Her bloodline, known as 'ancient blood,' grants her the ability to learn runes and wield magic. Though she cannot breed herself, she can use ancient magic to gift other females with pregnancy. The cubs born from this magic are given names in the ancient language until they are old enough to earn their own names. Some of these cubs inherit varying amounts of ancient blood. Very special ones may receive too much, resulting in mutations that could be fatal. If they survive, they may become immortal and immensely powerful.
Whispers of the aincent bloods past wisp past you as you approach the ruins. Many inscriptions lay themselves upon a wall. Long ago, the evil forces of the world feared the ancient blood and sought to eradicate it, nearly succeeding. However, the ancient magic was wise and went into hiding. After a decade of passing through generations, the magic found a cub worthy of reviving the long-forgotten species. This cub, Goldenhoard, was destined to rediscover the old ruins, form a pride to help her reclaim them from the monsters that had taken over, and rebuild the ancient civilization.
