Fierroar's Den
Long ago, in what is known as the Homeland, a group of powerfull lionesses led the ancestors of this pride. Of course there was a male too, someone who was picked by the lionesses to help create the next generation and oversee the Pride, but the lionesses were the ones who made all the inportant decisions, like where to set up their next camp, what herds to follow, what lions to invite to the pride etcetera.
The lionesses weren't like any of the ones that came after them. Whereas a male Prideleader is called a King, they were called Queens. These queens all had something truly special about them Not only were their hearts strong and pure, they had a beautiful majestic look to them. Each queen had a mane. Some manes were big, intimidating, charming, noble, others... less so ,but they all had more and longer fur than your average lioness.
The homeland was a beautiful land filled with many different species. No one ever had to go hungry, for these lionesses were excellent hunters. No one ever had to fear an ambush, for these lionesses guarded the Homeland well. No one had to fear loneliness or isolation, for the pride was big and welcoming. No one had to fear war, these lionesses kept the peace.
But that is all history now. All that remains of the Homeland, OUR Homeland, are the stories that are told, the memories our shamans inherit from our ancestors. It is of the utmost importance to remember these stories so we never forget what we lost. What was TAKEN from us.
It was a day just like any other day when the Queens found their leader, the Elder Queen, dead. She had been killed, in their own encampment! Hiw could this have happened? One lioness was always guarding the camp. Usually a queen would also be guarding the camp but things had been so calm and safe recently that the queens had not thought it necesary to guard their camp.
They investigated the area with the help of the current main male [unknown]. They found out that no one else had been anywhere near their camp. Someone from their pride must've done it. But who would do such a thing? Who would kill their noble, wise leader?
Bravery, one of the queens and the Elder Queens only daugher suggested inspecting the corpse of their beloved leader for clues. The others agreed.
