Dream Journal

The rains have finally arrived after a long and harsh drought. Flash floods have been running through the valleys and gorges, so I've brought the pride back up into the high jungles, where the canopy covers us from the rain and the ground gathers pools of clean, fresh-fallen water. The cubs have found delight in the thick mud puddles and chasing the locusts that managed to make their way from the plains to the jungle, while the hunters and brood mothers have found frustration in dirty cubs playing in the nests. The rains brought humid fresh smells and lush greenery, providing an excellent environment to sleep soundly, with cricket song and jungle birds singing me to sleep ... except something dark keeps jolting me awake midst dream. A bad, sinking feeling, dark storms, and flashes of a pitch black horse-like creature shift before my mind, waking me with anxieties and tension. It almost feels like ... an omen of sorts ...
