In days of yore, when earth and sky did blend,
Eldalir roamed, their hearts with clouds to mend.
Their gaze aloft, to heavens they did yearn,
To wisps, the first-born clouds, their love did burn.

As wolves did bay unto the moon so bright,
Eldalir sought the clouds, their hearts alight.
To mountains high, they climbed with longing eyes,
Their souls aflame with dreams of azure skies.

The wisps, in turn, beheld their fervent plea,
And gifted wings to Eldalir, set free.
With feathered grace, they soared on breath of air,
Amongst the clouds, a sight beyond compare.

But blinded by the clouds' enchanting sheen,
Eldalir forgot the earth where they had been.
Their own needs lost amidst the sky's embrace,
Their mortal forms began to fade, erase.

To save them from their self-inflicted plight,
The wisps reclaimed their wings, dispelled the light.
Yet in their hearts, the Eldalir still yearn,
For skies above, where clouds and dreams adjourn.

When wisps deem them worthy, once again,
Eldalir shall rise with wings to claim.
To dance amidst the clouds, forevermore,
Their legend lives, beyond the earthly shore.

Thus ends the tale of Eldalir's flight,
Bound to the earth, yet reaching for the height.
May they find solace in their earthly reign,
Until the wisps call them to the sky again.
