A fallen star has been sent from above to herald a new age. The Harbinger of Dawn will carve out the old and stagnant in blood and fire, giving way for the new.
Certain chaos-loving supernatural entities, attracted by the Harbinger's rampage, have found their way to the pride through the pregnancies of lionesses, replacing the cubs inside the uterus. These are the Discordant.
Also among the pride are normal lions, who worship the Harbinger of Dawn as their sky-born god-king. They are unaware of the Discordant in their midst, while the Harbinger himself is perfectly aware.
