𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝖶𝖺𝗌𝗍𝖾𝗅𝖺𝗇𝖽𝗌

The scene is set as the moon rises upon that of a barren and stark desert. Formed by nuclear warfare, the old world was replaced by what we now know as The Wastelands.

The sandy dunes and the past-world ruins cover the landscape and are -as expected in such a place- common sights. That being said, The Wastelands is far more alive than one would assume.

The Wastelands is as sentient as its inhabitants, if not more. It breathes, it feels, it thinks, through the vines, the earth, and the sky itself. The Wastelands did not choose to come into existence, but once brought to life, it chose to stay.

It binds those it chooses to it, confining them to always return to it, no matter how far they may travel, and no matter how long they’re away, even keeping them alive through the most agonizing and insufferable pains.

From The Rocky Highlands to No-Man’s-Land, from The Scarred Earth to The Black Sea, this bleak territory is coated in history. History that all comes back to one thing, The Wastelands.

And so it remains.

𝖳𝗈 𝖳𝗁𝗋𝗂𝗏𝖾

There's little wildlife left in The Wastes, as most fauna is unable to retain existence in the desolate and arid environment.

Out of the few species capable of adapting to this barren desert, only one is able to truly thrive. That species is the Panthera Leo, or in other words, the lion.

Despite struggles, lions, even in such a place as this, remain at the top of the food chain, right alongside humans themselves. Surviving off the few remaining stable prey species, and finding water where they can, lions have managed to not only stabilise their species, but to begin the reconstruction process.

Their competition with humans is minimal, as the two species distance themselves from one another, and rarely do they meet face-to-face in the same location. The prey species that feed both humans and lions are just stable enough to keep starvation away from both predatory species.

But just like humans, these lions contain thoughts, feelings, and emotions. As these few things collide with one another, conflict is created, not only from within, but from lion to lion. They say conflict is both the creator and the destroyer, but only time can tell, as it always has.
