As you cross a small stream onto a fertile patch of savannah, you notice a dark patch among the golden grasses. Suddenly, it lunges forward with a low growl. You back off, recognizing the black shape as a large male lion. However, he stops just short of you and looks you up and down with bright white eyes. As he silently sizes you up, you turn your gaze down, and notice the strange lilac coloration on his hind quarters as well as the tabby stripes on his legs.
The large king looks at you, then lowers his eyes and blinks deeply in respect, his face suddenly an image of peace. He purrs, then turns and pads away ten steps before stopping. He turns his head back to look at you again before continuing his lope towards a shady tree. You recognize this as a welcoming gesture, and cautiously follow him toward the shade, and a group of lionesses and cubs.
