July 2017 Caelius Regulus has passed away quietly in his sleep and Cassius Secundus has taken his place as king. Two queens stand by his side: Valeria Aetia, a skilled huntress with a distant and reserved personality, and Valeria Corvina, her warm and friendly twin sister.
February 2017 Caelius Regulus's beloved queen, Tarquinia Traiana, passed after a sudden illness. Since then, Caelius Regulus has been withdrawn and distant, allowing his second heir, Cassius Secundus, to begin to run the pride.
December 2015 Two daughters were all that remained of the pride led by when a young male by the name of arrived. He quickly claimed the territory as his own and demanded that the two lionesses join his pride or leave. Arcturus's younger daughter was eager to join Caelius Regulus's pride and adopt their beliefs and naming conventions. However, the elder was resentful and unhappy, as she had come to think of her father's lands as her own to rule. Her resentment grew as the talented and respected became queen, but eventually subsided as the pride flourished.
Pride Ranks
Pride ranks are in Latin.
Rex (King) - Has ultimate authority over the pride.
Regina (Queen) - Has authority over all other lionesses.
Regis Filia (King's Daughter) - Title given to all daughters of the current king.
Venerabilis Domina (Venerable Lady) - A title of respect for daughters of the former king.
Senior Reuerendum (Respected Elder) - A title for lionesses who have retired.
Venatrix (Huntress) - Lionesses whose main duty is to hunt for the pride.
Cunaria (Cub-sitter) - Lionesses whose sole duty is to care for the cubs of the pride.
Sodalis (Member) - Other members of the pride without a specific role.
Adolescens (Adolescent) - Lions between one and two years of age.
Catulus (Cub) - Cubs younger than one year.
Other titles include:
Infelix (Unlucky) - Lionesses with fertility less than 20%.
Deos Tetigit (Gods-touched) - Lions with some sort of mutation; believed to have been blessed (or cursed) by the gods while still in the womb.
You can attack another lion for one of three reasons - skill, experience and territory. If you are successful with a skill attack, you will gain some experience and a small increase in skill. If you are successful with a territory attack, you will receive some experience and your territory will expand by 1 space. If you are successful with an experience attack, you will receive a big bonus to regular experience gains from a fight.
A lion can only be attacked for territory once per day, and can only be attacked once every 2 hours.
You cannot attack a lion who is more than 2 levels below yourself. The defending lion will receive a defensive buff, so keep this in mind before attacking.
