Scattered members of a healthy pride lay to rest along the hills of the savannah, finding the rocky hills rather safe as a habitat for the members. Most of the pride is split up into small groupings, unmistakable in health and comfort and the beauty they held. Strangers that walk along the worn path the pride itself uses walk through the scattered remains of kills dragged back to the pride remain static and decayed, eaten until scraps remain and bones are bleached by the sun itself. A defensive chuff rose and skipped along the chest of a large female tattered with scars, her lithe size rivaled by her otherwise healthy demeanor, her stature perched to overlook her own family, surrounded by the younger generation. She was the matriarch, and her watchful gaze was not to be challenged, the lack of any present males may seem tempting but there was a reason. The matriarchs claws curled against the stone beneath her large paws painting tails of how little males were needed here.
