*Pride Story* WIP <3
It all started 30 years ago. Orzik the blind king was the first. He ran away from home, as far away as he could. The adolescent was abused, in a long line of siblings some much older than him. His father was rude to each and every child that wasn't in the line of royalty. Orzik, being the youngest and ugliest in the fathers eyes, was always kicked around and beat up on. So the young male ran away. His father sent patrols far and wide, but Orzik had escaped. He was happy where he ended up, a lone spring by himself. He stayed there for years. Food was plenty, the water was always fresh.. but one day something curious happened upon the male. Orzik was in his prime, almost three years of age, when a group of females wandered upon the spring. Their leader, a dying, sick male told Orzik that the lionesses where to be taken care of by him, and on the spot the old male died. Taken aback by the sudden Kinging, Orzik spent many hours for weeks on end just gazing into the horizon. He was lost, and now the spring didn't supply enough food for the pride. The lionesses where growing restless, all of them where hungry and Orzik was ignoring their pleas for help. Until one morning, when Orzik woke and the lionesses where gone. Heartbroken and terrified, the male followed any scent he could pick up of them, scared he had lost his one chance at being anything. Days passed, and what felt like days turned to weeks. The king was weak, easily defeated. But he found them! They had gathered miles away. Using what strength he had, Orzik managed to pull through, with the help of the lionesses
