🌼 Complete November Guide 🌼

This guide is written as part of the official The NCL Agenda guide series. It is available to all players and is free to be shared wherever. While most of the information found in this guide can be found scouring the wiki, it is made to be more digestible and succinct. Hopefully, this guide serves as a more helpful response to specific questions than "read the wiki".

───── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ─────

Welcome to the start of a new month! I bet you're a bit exhausted from September and October. Don't worry, I am too. Good news for us, November is a certifiably chill month. In this guide we're going to walk through how to get the most out of November without breaking a sweat. But first, a brief overview.

November has a spiritual/shamanic theme with a sub focus on fossils and gems. There are two currencies this month: Scarab Beetles and Piety. Scarab Beetles are earned through explore, mainly through interactions and a couple combat encounters. Scarab Beetles can then be used to purchase decors, backgrounds, items, and applicators from the Shaman Shop. The more interesting currency of the month is Piety. Piety is earned by completing daily Shaman quests and can be used for a wide variety of rewards that we'll talk about later. Collecting Piety is also how new tiers of the event are opened up.

*Note that this guide is not going to contain every encounter or every thing you can buy/craft. It is intended to be a quicker, more condensed read than just scrolling through the wiki

🌼 Shaman Shop + Pit 🌼
Shaman Shop
The Shaman Shop has four tiers: Tiers 0, 1, 2 and 3. Tier 0 is open immediately as soon as the event starts and the rest are unlocked by site-wide piety gain. Tiers 0-2 are filled almost entirely with decor and backgrounds while tier 3 is where all of the applicator bases and mane markings are.

If you're wondering what the "money-maker" item of this month is, there really isn't one. The applicators for this month aren't highly popular and due to them being available for free in the Shaman Pit, not hard to obtain either. The applicators available are the Lilac and Whisper mane marking applicators + Ancestral, Ethereal, Parhelion, Penumbra, Sacred, Spectre, Supernal, Windfall, and Phantom base applicators. My personal recommendation for this month is to stock up on bases or decor for personal use. Or, if you're really looking for a laid back time, cut Scarab Beetles out of the month entirely. Certain Shaman quests require you to find specific explore encounters, but it is entirely feasible to otherwise stay out of explore this month.

Shaman Pit

The Shaman Pit also unlocks with tiers, being open at tiers 1, 2, and 3. Each tier unlocks a new reward that can be accessed for free, albeit with a cooldown.

At tier 1, you can inhale smoke. Inhaling smoke gives your king a strength boost while batting in explore. This effect lasts for 15 minutes and you can inhale smoke every 3 hours

At tier 2, you can drink water. Drinking water provides your king a 5% stat boost for the cubs in their next litter. You can drink water once a day

At tier 3, you can whisper. Whispering provides you with a random reward from a reward pool. You can obtain experience, impression, 10-20 stats, or an applicator. The applicator pool includes all of the Shaman Shop base applicators plus their matching manes. You can whisper once a day

🌼 Shaman Quests + Piety 🌼
Shaman Quests
Shaman quests yield 2-3 Piety, and three Shaman quests can be taken a day, giving a maximum of 6-9 Piety/day. There are three different shamans, and each has slightly different quests. Each shaman can either ask for you to give them items or to search for a specific explore encounter. Note that many of the item quests require herbs, so it's smart to check your hoard before choosing a shaman to take a quest from. Let's go through what items each shaman can ask of you

Shaman Aker

Item quests:
- 3 x Ubhubhubhu and 3 x Uqume
- 10 x Rawhide*
- 3 x Lion Skull
- 5 x Buchu
- 2 x Uzara and 2 x Nut Grass

Sorcerer Sphinx

Item quests:
- 3 x Ubhubhubhu and 3 x Uqume
- 10 x Rawhide*
- 10 x Umganu
- 4 x Dream Root
- 10 x Honey Bush

*Rawhide can be obtained by opening up a carcass in your hoard, where a button will appear underneath the usual "bury item" button. Note that no matter how many uses your carcass has, it will only produce 1 rawhide, so it's best to use a carcass with only 1 use left

Sangoma Tefnut

Item quests:
- 4 x Dream Root
- 3 x Iboga Root
- 5 x Marula Fruit and 5 x Uvuma-Omhlope
- 5 x Imphepho

Piety
With your newfound Piety, you can access the Ancestral Rewards. Here's what you can do with your piety:

For 3 Piety you can increase or decrease your karma by 30

For 6/9/12 Piety you can increase your stats by 6/10/15 respectively

For 20 Piety you can entirely flip your karma. Positive becomes negative and negative becomes positive. Ex. if you have -1000 karma, it will become +1000 karma

For 30 Piety, you can apply your choice of event NCL mark. This is generally where most people are going to spend their Piety. If you've ever heard people excitably talking about applying Piety marks, this is what they mean. You can choose the mark, but you cannot choose the slot or opacity. The chosen Piety mark will automatically apply itself in the first available slot at a random opacity. If you want to apply a mark in a higher slot with lower ones empty, apply a low-value mark like brawl/squabble/rumble (ew, I know) to the slots you wish to leave empty and remove them afterwards. You can apply any of the marks released on February/April/September NCLs which can be found here. Note that despite being on this page, July celestial and August savage marks are not included. Classic wiki

🌼 Crafting 🌼
November is a massive crafting month, having a ton of month-locked crafting recipes. Crafting is unlocked at tier 1. I'll walk you through the notable ones

Fossil Crafting
Many event encounters will give you fossils. And these fossils can be used to craft dinosaurs. If you've ever wanted a massive dinosaur next to your lion, now's your chance. There's also some applicators, but you know, dinosaurs. The following applicators can be crafted with fossils

Fossil Base

15 x cracked fossil and 5 x crumbled fossil

Nautilus Base

20 x ancient fossil, 5 x cracked fossil, and 5 x crumbled fossil

Ammonite Base

20 x ammonite fossil

───── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ─────

Gem Crafting
Much like fossils, event encounters this month will give you gems that can be used for crafting. You may also have some of these gems stocked up from months like July. Gems can be used to craft a wide range of base and eye applicators along with some banging jewelry decors. Here's all the applicators you can craft

The "Dust" recipes can be used to craft the Bloodstone, Moss Agate, Nuummite, and Opal (recipe is named Rough Opal) base applicators

each applicator requires 50 of their respective gem

The "Fragment" recipes can be used to craft the Carnelian, Lehsunia (recipe is named Cat's Eye), Fire Opal, and Opal eye applicators

each applicator requires 50 of their respective gem

The "Shard" recipes can be used to craft the Bloodstone, Moss Agate, Nuummite, and Opal mane applicators

each applicator requires 30 of their respective gem

There is one craftable marking applicator: Windfall Markings. This recipe is, to put it simply, really goddamn expensive. Not necessarily because of them gems, but because it requires 100 underbrush

50 x carnelian, 50 x fire opal, 50 x nuummite, 100 x underbrush, and 10 x phantom quartz
