Just a little suggestion! :) So, tsavos don't have much hair, it's pretty easy to see on male. That includes their mane but also their tail. Wouldn't it be logic for females to have similar tails? They would be easier to recognise and worth a little more, I'm sure! |

But females don't show manes, they are not coded to :x This is a board for male mane suggestions. I could transfer this to perhaps a new feature suggestion section 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Support. I love this idea. But, how about as a mutation? Most lionesses don't have manes. But, I love this as a maned lioness mutation idea! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Honestly, I'm gonna have to say no support. I looked up some photos of lionesses(and yes, they're definitely lionesses) from the Tsavo region, and they don't look much different at all from any other lioness. EDIT: If you do some actual looking into what causes the Tsavo region males to have little to no mane development, most of the proposed theories are related to either testosterone or heat(thick or dark manes can cause overheating, which is one of the reasons males usually let the girls "bring in the bacon" ), which are obviously issues Tsavo lionesses don't have to deal with anymore than other lionesses. Tsavo males are odd and actually do some of the hunting too, so among any other number of reasons, less mane is good for them. Also just throwing it out there that its very possible the genes are tied to the males strictly, so lionesses can't even carry the trait in that theory(don't take my word on that 100%, though. That's just a guess from a Biology student on my part). 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 16/01/18 @ 18:57:50 by Darklily (#5809) |

Realistically, I don't think there's any reason for Tsavo lionesses to have short/no tail fluff. As a Tsavo breeder, I totally want my girls to stand out a bit! 0 players like this post! Like? |

@bezthiel. I'm confused, you don't think there's any realistic reason behind female Travos having short/no tail fluff? It seems to make perfect sense, the male tsavo has little/none so why not the female? I mean they carry the gene so *shrugs* 0 players like this post! Like? |

JackNOTDaniels, but actual Tsavo lionesses don't have a short to no tail tuft anyway, if you actually do some reading and looking up on lions in the Tsavo region. Realistically, therefor, the females would not have a shorter tail tuft. Though, if we're being completely honest, they all(yes, as in every lioness in the game, not just Tsavo ones) shouldn't have as fluffy of a tail tuft as they do, but I'd say it's artistic interpretation, one pretty much every artist who draws lions does. Males do have a little longer furred one usually, but lionesses don't really have the feathery looking ones we have on LD. The tuft is actually hiding a spur at the end of the tail on real lions. Edit To show what I meant before in looking at Tsavo girls, here's one example of lionesses from Tsavo Nation Park: Straight from the website for the park. Look at lionesses from say the Kalahari(i.e. a South African Lion, while Tsavos are East African Lions), and they pretty much look the same. 1 player likes this post! Like? Darklily answered the same way I pretty much would have lol Still, non-realistic as it is, if ever added to the game, Crested, Hellraiser, and Pariah also have tails that are a bit different on males, so it shouldn't just be the Tsavo lionesses that get tail love. 1 player likes this post! Like? |
