WOOHOO! I can't believe we've reached 100 supports in just 3 days! Thankyou SO much to all those who offered criticism, suggestions, and most importantly, everyone that clicked that button at the bottom! ******************************************************************** Okay, so after some thought, I decided to revamp this just a touch following Thalath's (#41669) suggestion. Since the new upgrades to the trading centre, scams are now practically impossible. AS A SELLER What I'm proposing is simply a re-vamp to the way the trading centre works. It will make things a whole lot more straightforward when you're asking for something specific. As it stands, you can still make offers on trades, even when it isn't specified. You can also offer whatever you want, even when a trader has stated something specific. As a trader, when creating a trade, there would be a series of boxes to check or not check. If you didn't check ANY boxes, there would only be an option to BUYOUT the trade: [x] Take offers [ ] Allow lion / lioness offers (This option could be expanded to be more specific) [ ] Allow item offers (This option could be expanded to be more specific) [x] Allow SILVER Beetle offers [ ] Allow GOLD Beetle offers You would also be able to specify a MINIMUM offer. For example, if you are seeking food, you could set a minimum offer of 10 items, or if you're looking at selling an item for GB, but open to SB offers, you could set a minimum amount of SB you would accept for the item ETC AS A BUYER If this is implemented, we might also be able to search for trades based on what the trader is seeking. For example we could search for trades that are seeking a lion / lioness in exchange for something. You would also be able to search items by category, rather than have every single item listed in a drop down box. Have you ever tried searching for food without going through pages and pages? You have to search every carcass in the list until you get a hit! The hoard is already separated by categories, so why not the trading centre as well? Going with this suggestion, you'd be able to search for 'food' or 'toys' or 'decor' ETC. Perhaps there would also be the ability to exclude certain items you are seeking OR seeking to trade to someone, from the search? IE if you are searching for food, you could exclude trades that contain rat and gerbil carcasses. OR if you searched for trades where the seller is SEEKING food, you could exclude trades of SB. Does that make sense? This is BY NO MEANS a whinging complaint to how things currently are, its simply about improving the system and streamlining it even further. The Trading Centre is functioning GREAT and the work that's been done on it has been FANTASTIC (thanks for the whole information BTW!). This is a suggestion, not a 'fix this crap naooo' discussion. Again, thanks to Thalath (#41669) for this great suggestion : To go even further, you could also make it so you can disallow offers of lions, items, or GB as well. Any suggestions are WELCOME! |

You're only tricked if you actually accept the trade... It's probably best to read what you're getting before you accept. I don't really want support because we have the ability to remove offers, which I think is enough. ![]() |

YES! OuO I would find it very helpful for me as I can look at something here 5 times or more but still mix it up. Especially in TC where the text and stuff is kinda hard for me to read in general. Although most of the site can be hard to read lol. ![]() Edited on 18/09/14 by Nny (#257) |

To go even further, you could also make it so you can disallow offers of lions, items, or GB as well. It's really nitpicky, but I personally find it frustrating when I get excited from an offer... and then I learn that they offered exactly what I told them I didn't want. ![]() Edited on 18/09/14 by Thalath (#41669) |

YAAASSS. Although I'd rarely use it for lions, usually items / mutts / rare babies o.o ![]() |

That's absolutely fair enough, Bracken. My double-checking saved me at the last second. I mainly suggested this to remove their ability to even try. Once an innocent and honest user makes a mistake (even something so simple as this) that's it - and there's nothing staff can do about it. They know this and they're using it to their advantage. ![]() |

I think it should be noted that there are people with conditions such as dyslexia as well as those with impaired vision that this could effect. Support because people have been trying to get away with this even more so since the news post saying nothing can be done about it if the trade owner fails to read it properly. ![]() Edited on 18/09/14 by Mightyena [TVV] (#8762) |

Yes please! Support! Stop the trolls from trollin' already.. I think that this is a marvelous idea. While I agree that you should always read what you are accepting for a trade before accepting it, in the heat of the moment mistakes can be made. Adding a button to disallow SB or any other type of offer for a trade would be an easy fix for this problem. ![]() Edited on 18/09/14 by Mourning Lily's Wildlife Refug (#6080) |

Oh I love this idea! <3 I would love to have an option with check boxes on what can be offered and what can't. Would indeed help a lot to avoid all those offers from people who just don't read chat/forum/trade descriptions. :) Full support from me~. ![]() |
