Just a small suggestion that I have thought of and not entirely sure if it has been suggested or not. However, if it is possible to rearrange as well and make it work! This is what I have.
All the manes, markings, scars, etc have been made, how about creating facial expressions for your mighty king of the jungle? This feature can be shown on the head shot on the profile of someone's page, when you click on the lion to view stats and when challenged.

The few features I have in mind are as follows:

Growling - Teeth bared, lips puffed and eyebrows lowered into a glare.
Snarling: Maw agape, fangs exposed fully, mouth can be featured widely or have the head tilted sideways and still show aggression with eyes also narrowed.
Suspicious A choppy look with his mouth dropped on one side, eye brow lowered whilst the other is raised. Fangs can be slightly exposed.

This is all I have come up with now, though I tried my best to think up more ideas :3

To add on. Isn't it just a plain look our lion expresses? Like for instance, challenging an animal. It has that distinctive look it gives. Every animal we face looks "prepared" and "ready". Our lion he's just having a look as if to say, "So, what's your choice of fighting me?" sort of look, to me anyways. It's just too plain to keep and it should be an option we can choose from to look from many that could be unlocked or just bought from the Monkey.

I only have three as of now, but it can go freely too, to look terrifying, territorial, confused, hurt, sleepy, etc.
This is something to look forward to.
