So I was just staring at one of my lionesses with her cubs and wondered hey what if whenever a lioness gives birth you get a placenta and (gross) if a lion or lioness eats it they get exp (uncommon or it takes away hunger?. It is gross but think about it real lions do it. :3

Now so I have seen so many GREAT ideas and I want to thank everyone who has given me them. Here are a few ideas that I loved.

Chance of nothing

Sangre-Can cause hunt to fail completely (More common)

Kuri-Hunger (maybe 5+? Still deciding)

Expires (24 hours)

Lots of people-After effect (Sickness, not able to hunt and adds a extra day on breeding cooldown?)

lots of people-Event item? (Still deciding, but if it was maybe in february?)

Female only eats it

Lots of people-Non tradable (Deciding)

Mutation increase? More cubs? (Deciding)

Don't really see the necessity for it? Food isn't hard to come by.

And why would eating a placenta give any experience?

Most "exp" items I can get. A coconut or a tortoise, it's "hard" to open so your lion gains experience/learns something doing it.

Why would they get that from just eating something off the ground?

You do know what Placenta is right Sphinx? it's afterbirth if i'm correct so it may be hard to swallow. Perhaps it could take away a few bits of energy due to feeling sick or something.

I support. It's very realistic. Gross, but realistic.

Sphinx, she said "Uncommon" about the experience gain, meaning(I take it) that it would be super rare.

I think it should be EXTREMELY rare to get experience from it, but give a good amount of experience. It would be interesting to say the very least.

Yes, I'm well aware of what an afterbirth is, for heaven's sake. I'm not an idiot.

And no, it's not "hard to swallow". It's just a bunch of soft tissue that sloughs off the uterus. It actually tears and comes apart very easily, which is why it can cause females of all species a lot of trouble if it isn't passed completely.

There are actually humans who eat their own placentas for the nutrients. It's not exactly hard to digest or anything. It's MADE to be easily eaten or taken care of quickly by nature so a mother can get rid of it and not attract predators.

Here's an article if you don't believe that: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-27307476

Haha, Sphinx, I thought you were talking to me for a moment.

It's nasty to think about eating it, but it's true. It is full of nutrients, which is why I think it should be a thing. It's realistic if anything. Instead of the lions gaining nutrients, it could gain experience or even a single random stat increase?

If people want it to be some +5 to hunger or something, that's fine. I don't think it's really necessary as food isn't hard to come by.

I don't think it should have anything to do with experience or stat increases though because it makes no sense and it's not something hard to deal with or difficult to come by in the scenario.

I do support this idea, but I agree with Sphinx, a stat/experience gain doesn't really make sense.

Well I was thinking exp or stat gain would be reasonable because placenta has nutrients and such. Also maybe a after effect like sickness or something because placenta does cause that. So there is a price.
