Okay if there happens to be a topic about this I am sorry, I looked through and didn't see one myself. So females have fertility which determines a whole lot of things and can give you mutations, but what about males? It would work just about the same way the female would and when you bred it would have the same sort of "effects". So if you have a goddess of a lioness, and a very low male, the female might not get pregnant. If they are both very low (say under 30%) they would have a really low chance of having cubs, but if they did have a cub or two it would have higher chances of carrying a mutation. Now some will being up "but there will be too many mutants jaybear, that wouldn't be good." Yes and no, there would be slightly higher chance to get those adorable muties we love, but at the same time is increasing the chance the mating will fail. But how is this a good thing? It's a bit more realistic, since males also carry fertility issues. It will raise player's chances of a mutie (only by some), and decrease the cub craze which fills and fills the lion population. Cubs are born everyday and players don't want to chase since they have to wait a whole 20 days for their lioness to go back into heat. Lioden gets stuck with endless cubs. Some might not like this, I know, but I feel like it would put more pressure on having fertility. I have not yet had a lioness with very low fertility fail a breeding; it would make studs better as well. People who breed for muties might want a very low stud, or if you just want some cubs a "God" fertility might be worth more. And there will always be the same craze over looks and stats, that doesn't change much. Add on edit- possibly their fertility determines how much energy is consumed for a breeding? 90-100%fertility- normal energy consumption 70-89- subtract 5 energy 40-69- subtract 10 energy Below 40- subtract 15 (Only suggestions, official numbers would be left to the staff) Please if you have any other suggestions to add onto this let me know below! I want to hear what you think!! |

This is a great idea, I support! It evens out the playing field in many ways! 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support . Breeding takes up enough energy as is . I love that it'd a wee bit more realism to the game but... I just... I can't. I'd hate to have to worry about the males fertility on top of the females fertility . I just feel like it'd cause more trouble than its worth, especially considering there's a possibility that you'd find the perfect stud for your girl and they could both be low or very low fert... 0 players like this post! Well, there would be items to of course raise your lion's fertility. There is already, temporary and permanent. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ryo: Yes, but they can only raise/lower fertility by a limited amount, and it's a lot of extra spending on a stud if they have low fertility, and you also need to pay for berries. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yes Ryo but that would only effect /your/ lions and some can't or do not wish to spend the currency on said items . 0 players like this post! Like? |

I actually see it as a way of regulating the cub market. With the male and female fertility having combined effects and having more trouble in getting the female pregnant. I never found fertility useful at all, since even a low fertility girl can be gotten pregnant all too easily. Since studding is what is causing most of the trouble, I think this would decrease the want to stud just any male, even if its looks are amazing. But... I dont think that low fertility males should lose all the love. There should be some kind of incentive for having a nearly infertile male. On another breeding game I play, almost infertile/infertile males have some kind of a special color/marking mutation which they get regardless of how their parents looked like. This makes them desirable and a goal to have on it. Thus, there might be more low fertility males about, which in turn will make studding a bit troublesome but not undesired. Everyone would want a nearly infertile male. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Axel- exactly! And how about the lower the fertility the less energy a breeding takes? 0 players like this post! Like? |

No... Because that wouldn't make any sense . Fertility has nothing to do with energy or stamina or anything of the sort... 0 players like this post! Like? |

But breeding does, and if you have a lower chance of impregnation then it evens out the energy (by some) to give the opportunity to breed more. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Also possibly infertile males could have "brand" so to speak which would be a marking that shows they are infertile. It would just be a cool infertile perk. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support this. Breeding itself doesn't take up that much time, it's the waiting around for the lionesses to be in heat, then waiting for them to come off the cooldown. There are far too many cubs flying around, this would help lower their numbers a bit. Achievements could also be added in as a bonus to this, One for having a god /infertile king. One for birthing a god/infertile cub. 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support. I generally spend 20-50 energy already to breed with just one very low fertility female. 0 players like this post! Like? |
