Guys, I'm honestly feeling really down today. I got home and my puppy, (7 Months old) hasn't learned the boundaries of our property so she always goes running down the road. So, my dad let her outside today and she took off down the road. He ran after her and brought her back to our house. He stormed inside, rolled up some newspaper and stomped back outside and started whacking her with it. I know it wouldn't hurt that much but it would make her fear him. It's just.... it's NOT FAIR! Th only reason anyone is disciplined is because of fear. WHY FEAR. Like, it's so friggin mean to beat a dog just because it doesn't know any better. *Rant over.*

Omg lia :(( i know the feeling! When my 7 yo dog was still a baby, and my family hadnt yet become super majorly in need of a break-bill wise and vacation wise, he used to go and smack her with his hand whenever she did something wrong and i literally hid behind a couch so i wouldnt see...children cant do much when their parents make up their minds, same whatever age you are >:( Anyway, a million years ago my dad decided to buy a hot tub, and it worked for about a month, and then my teething border collie/aussie mix decided she liked jumping onto it, then decided she really liked the cover's (whatever it was, foam underneath and a not quite leathery strip on top) taste, and chewed the entire thing up one day and my dad was in a fury to say the absolute least, i know EXACTLY what you mean. I HATED when my dad did that.

For your pup, i suggest either a shock collar (i know, i know, i wouldnt be suggesting it if i knew a quick and easy fix - but your puppy might get hit by a car if it doesnt learn the boundary of the sidewalk/driveway :() and setting the boundary to your driveway, or hard duty training from a professional (but again, this would take longer than the uncomfortableness of a shock collar, a shock collar would be right away too, it'd learn quickly, even after you took the shock collar off after a few months, the puppy would've learned never to go past the driveway) <<<---just my opinions, my puppy came trained- who knows how- not to go past the driveway, she's gotten out a few times before, and not until the last time she got out did she actually go past the front yard without us being there.

Yeah, I mean, the only thing with a shock collar is, we still take her for walks down the road. Not that I know much about shock collars, but don't you have a boundary that if they go past, they get shocked. I don't want her to be scared of going past that boundary if she's with us. But anyway, I'm feeling a bit happier now. I don't think my dog really cares but ehh. Thanks Cinder.

<33 Ofc lia :) and you can take shock collars off, but i think you mean the fear of getting shocked, even if she's with you/the shock collar is off. That i wouldnt be very sure of...im not sure, im afraid :(

I have expirence with 'shock' collars, they aren't very effective for some dogs and do the OPPOSITE. We were trying to train diesel, our lab, to stay in the yard and use the medium setting so he'd feel it through his fur/thick skin and he'd take off -.- Some dogs it works, others not so much... Teach your dog that the road is bad, anytime she goes near it give a stern "AH!" or "No!" And guide her towards the house or something like that.. I think you mean the invisible fences Lia.. I hate those so much xD

*Hugggggs Everybody.* Thanks guys, I'm trying everything I can think of that won't hurt anything but her pride.

But anyway, Des, I have a suggestion for your Rp. Since some breeds of dogs/wolves/whatever will be more popular, could you make it that there can only be one of each breed? So like me, for example, I wanted to reserve a Maned Wolf. I would be a bit annoyed if there was another maned wolf. ;P Anyway, just a suggestion.
