Short Explanation: I've noticed how many auctions take place via the chatter boards. We all would like the "hot" lions in the market, and its only natural that high value lions will be auctioned to those who can afford the price. Yet auctions Via message boards are clumsy and prone to mistakes, easily prone to errors and people can bail out of them very easily, a form of "cheating" the auctioner of bids and mounting the price for not good reason. So, what I offer is this: Wouldnt it be more orderly and more efficient to have a section of the trading center dedicated only for auctions? A person would be able to set a certain lion, or item, or several, for auction. That person will set the strating bid, the minimum raise, the length of the Auction and if they want to, a buyout price. Other people will be able to view the items and lions for auction, and bid over them according to th rules set by the auctioner. Due to monetary value of items being fluid, I suggest no item bids at this point, only sb and gb. A person will be able to bi ONLY if that person has the amount of the bid in one's account, and that amount will be reduced from the account and returned only if omeone outbid that person or if the auctioner cancelled the auction. Cancelling a bid or auction will have a monetary penalty. When an auction ends the items or lions will be automatically transferrred to the highest bidder. *An extra suggestion for this would be that lions up for auction will be shown via thumbnails in the auction page, but I realize this would take major work. What I offer, essentially is to make a kind of "trade" that: 1)Has a set time, shorter than 30 days and all bidders know when it is going to end 2)Has a set order and raise amount for fair bidding 3)Has no option for item bids or lion bids, only sb or gb. 4)Bidders are unable to bail from without penalty to avoid cases where the bid is "forcefully" raised. This kind of auction will aslo be more efficient because the money of the bid will be returned to you immediately if you were outbid and so you will be able to use it for someithng else, as welll as know that you were outbid when it happens and will be able to bid again immediately if you wish. This can also be supported by a game notification. So, what do you think? Ideas? suggestions? |

Isnt that how the TC works right now, though? Basically all trades are auctions and the owner of the trade can decide which offer to take or if there is a buyout price. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I see how you're getting that it'd be a little more organized than a trade, but I think we do just need to use trades as auctions more, instead of using the forum threads. That way you know that people are bidding the actual amounts they claim to have. This might streamline the process, but I don't know if it's necessary so no support. 0 players like this post! Like? |

right now, though, there is no real order, and it is very possible that people will bid and then withdraw their bid before the auction is over. it is possible for people to offer a lower bid after a higher bid has been offered, and bail with no consequences. what I offer, essentially is to make a kind of "trade" that: 1)has a set time, shorter than 30 days and all bidders know when it is going to end 2)has a set order and raise amount for fair bidding 3)has no option for item bids or lion bids, only sb or gb. 0 players like this post! I know of many sites that do a trade and an auction sort of thing. Support, but only if it wouldn't take too much time for them to code. I know plenty of people don't accept items on their auctions anyway - but this might make dealing with GB tricky. There is no 'set' conversion rate, so you'd be able to see the bids of course, but who's to say 2GB is worth more than say, 2300SB? It might take more work than it's worth. 0 players like this post! well, I dont think its too much of an added effort in comparison to the original idea to add a box dubbed "exchange rate" the seller can fill in. the bidders will be able to see it and the system will use it for exchange rates. this will also enable sellers in normal trades to set a buyout in mixed gb+sb if implemented when I think about it. right now its impossible. well, its out here. lets see what the mods thin aobut it. the programmers know their workload best. 0 players like this post!
