At this point I believe it would be beneficial to have size restraints on avatars to limit how large they are. Some players can be found using them throughout the board and it can cause quite a problem with viewing the boards. If a member uses an avatar that is bigger than the strip to the left of all posts that contains their name it stretches the entire post to the right side of the page, making it difficult to view the text.

This is just a small issue that hinders the navigation and flow of the board that I believe could be correct with a max width & height for avatars (say 150x150). By imposing a maximum they would no longer interrupt the flow of the post. Those avatars that exceed the limit could simply not be shown or be downsized by the coding used to enact the limit.

Thank you for your time! I don't believe there were other suggestions related to this as I did a key word search but let me know if there is! Also, please offer some constructive advice on this idea if you feel it to be necessary ^^ Thanks again!

I think thats actually a bug right now for the larger avatars. Before they used to compress to the 100x100 or so size if too large

I've noticed that too..which is odd, considering the fact that you're not supposed to be able to upload avatars larger than 150x150.

I'm not sure it is a bug since there were larger ones before. I just think some players started using the larger ones again. I would think it would have been in a news post or something, since I've never heard of any avatar coding. I'll leave the suggestion since it isn't certain that it is a bug that the coding is not working and not just people posting using larger avatars again ^^

This is a bug that enlarges the image if you have an icon that is drastically wider than it is tall. It's suppose to keep it at 150px wide and match the high but instead it seems to be doing the opposite.

Bumping again as it is not a bug. "If you have an image that is bigger than 150 x 150, then you will get a message that says that the avatar is too big and it will not update the avatar. However, if the image itself were to change into a bigger image than 150 x 150 after it was already changed into your avatar, then it is possible that it would overstretch the boundary." I asked a helper ^^

It's a bug. What with the new layout and all of the weekly updates and the fact that it's a minor one, it hasn't been dealt with. It doesn't always happen, but it will be fixed soon enough. c: I take what the helper said as an explanation as to why it's doing this, not whether or not it is a bug.

Shaska, it isn't a bug - the helper was saying what happens in the situation of a too large avatar now (the part that I quoted). Therefore, to implement having the avatar not show up if it exceeds 150x150 or automatically resize would be a new thing. If people aren't getting the messages and alerts then that might be a bug, but I'm suggesting another way to deal with it ^^
