I'd buy it! Especially if you could do different manes c: I know I'd want one of my king, and I think I'd be willing to pay up to 4GB for one, though I think 1-2 GB would be more reasonable with the audience here.

Ooh, I hadn't thought about doing other manes! That's a really good idea. I'd probably do complex manes/mutations for a little bit extra, since I'd have to do extra editing to the base lineart.

What I did with my icons (one of which Tortuga is currently sporting) is draw the base body, then layer manes on top. Set the not used manes to 0% opacity and the used mane to 100% opacity and voila, you have a bunch of manes you cane recolor.

I'd really suggest charging extra for decor and possibly mutations though! I mean, melanism and albinism not so much, but folded ears would require a lineart edit so...

Ooh yeah that's probably what I'll do, then, if I can make it work with the complexity of the lines I'm working with.

Physical mutations/decor will definitely be a bit extra, though, especially if someone wants me to draw one with two heads! (I am not opposed to doing "What-if" adopts of people's fatally mutated cubs.) Things like albinism, melanism and blindness/eyelessness wouldn't be any extra, though, since it only effects the coloring or erasing a tiny bit of the lines.

Excellent, thank you!! I think 1-2 for more basic designs is fair (basic colours with similar/uncomplicated markings, easy blending colours, etc), and 3-4 for complicated/flashy designs (like those with tons of various colours and lots of different marks).
For minor/small decor additions (like a feather decor, ear tufts, flowers, stuff like that), maybe 200-400sb, and for anything bigger or more complicated/detailed/requires a lot of line edits, 500+ each (something like an embedded chain or necklace, or horns would be in the 500+ range, and full body decors, large, intricate/detailed decors like a feather crown, headwraps, fur and feather bodywear, etc would be anywhere from 800sb to 2gb each, depending on how much work it is for you.
That seems like a pretty fair scale to start with at least, and adjust as you get more of an idea of what you feel it's worth for your time and effort.

Edit: As an example, I'd say something like my heir design (here), for the design and colours alone, 2gb-3Gb based on your feeling of how complicated it might be, plus 100-200sb for the ear tufts since they're minor. (Of course you're free to set your own prices, just offering my opinion/idea lol, I wont be offended or anything if you think thats too little or too much or what have you!)

Lol but really, you can if you want to, just to play with colours and markings. I'd still pay for a custom of him with razor mane and the ear tufts. <3

Also, for mutations, since I forgot to add those. Foldies and tailless would be on a lower scale since they're relaticely simple. Maneless might be more work, so maybe 500sb-1gb additional fee. Stuff like extra limbs, Cyclopia, two heads/conjoined twins, Sirenomelia, etc, I'd think at least an additional 3-5gb minimum since they're drastic line changes. Dwarfism...that'd be interesting, I don't know how I'd price that since it's essentially just short legs and a slightly cubbish look. (I can link you to a forum thread that shows all the current and confirmed planned mutations with picture examples of you'd like, it might help!)
