Although, the comment about most herds only having one stallion other than young colds not old enough to be chased isn't entirely true. A large amount of wild herds have a lead stallion but they also have one or two under stallions, similar to lion prides typically having more than one male. It's better for them for safety and order. Just thought I'd mention that interesting tidbit x3 (so there's nothing unrealistic at all about you accepting an under stallion or two along with the lead stallion!)

Questions!:
Will this be a literate-only rp? (I don't mean multi-para all the time, but spelling and grammar and at least 4-5 descriptive sentences required)
Will there be a lead mare position?
Considering this is a realistic rp, can I safely assume there won't be any "healer" types (like warriors)?
Are bonded pairs allowed between studs and mares? It's common for stallions to have favoured mares (simply don't like to be separated, usually, though studs can get aggressive towards others with their favoured mares during heats) [my tb gelding and bay QH mare are a bonded pair, for instance, you take one anywhere without the other and they both try to pitch a fit]

Also it's not called bonded pair when two horses won't leave each other, it's known as "herdbound". My QH mares are inseparable.

They separate from the rest of my herd just find though. It's just those two out of the six. They couldn't care less about the rest of them.

I'd be interested. I do like the no mates part especially, or crushes. If it was humans, sure. But I know real animals don't have crushes like 'Oh that stallion is so hot. And I like his friend too' or some silly stuff like that.

Also would it be possible for me to PM someone to catch up on what happens, should this become a RP? I have Sunday, Tuesday and Friday off from work, the rest of the week I work daytime from 5am Lioden time to anywhere from 12pm Lioden time to 11am or 1pm Lioden time. (Saturdays are my short days, only 6 hours. Wednesdays are my 8 hour days).

Answer to everyones questions.


Yes it will be literate. When I see someone rping with once line posts using text speak it makes me want to slap them.

Since real herds do have one mare higher then the others in ranking, yes there will be a 'lead mare' however she is still lower in ranking then all stallions.

Bonded pairs are fine, it's when people take it and turn it into dating that bothers me.

Not really, there are no geldings just running around the wild in real life unless it is a recently escaped/lost horse. I may allow a gelding if the player can explain why it's now wild.

I'm not sure, but not a huge group so the RP moves 10 pages a day, Not a tiny group but small enough to make it easy to work together and plan big events.

I hate it when RPS have a dramatic event every 5 minutes.

I thank you for the answers as well. And the literate part? Definitely got me more interested. I can't stand one or three liners, or people that 'TaLk LiKe ThIs' or capitalize every single flipping word... I get it's a thing for Homestuck (I hate Homestuck), but no one writes like that in the real world. At least not normally...

And thanks for saying there will be no healer. I get turned away from wolf RPs (for example) that have ranks that do not exist in real life, and same with other animal RPs. No animal can magically heal another. If it's a mortal injury, they die. No magic grass or what have you. So definitely count me in when this becomes a RP.

I'm trying to think of what can make this RP interesting,the rival herds idea is way overused so trying to think of something original.

Honestly I have no clue, it could be Brumbies trying to survive.

The RP could have the characters getting sick/injured just no suddenly better aka 5 posts later. Just try not to make your character have fatal injures/illness then it makes no sense if if your character survives, they don't have vets after all.

The RP will have seasons, with foals being born in Spring. Not sure how long seasons will last though.
