My suggestion is that when you donate goats to the ritual it will take the oldest goats from your hoard.

I've been watching my goats carefully lately and noticed that when you're donating your goats to the ritual it will take your newest goats. So, if I have goats that have 7, 8, 9, 10, and 10 days left before they expire, the ritual will take the two goats that have 10 days left instead of taking the "7 and 8 days left" goats. So I'm ending up with many goats that have fewer and fewer days left before expiration; they aren't being used up by the rituals or even have a chance of being used up by the rituals because every time I explore I'm finding new goats.

Stack feeding is coded to take the oldest food first (the food closest to expiration), so I hope my suggestion isn't unreasonable. (Disclaimer: I'm not a programmer.)
