"I'm sorry if I startled you," She tells the wolf. She stands slowly to her feet, eyeing the wolf carefully. She can't see all the wolves in the dim moonlight, but she can make out two bodies, and neither smell like Flora. She sits, and stares at her paws, choking back tears. She should have known Her sister wouldn't be here. For all she knew, Flora could be dead. But she couldn't give up now, she wouldn't be able to live with herself. She looks up at the two wolves, trying to hide her disappointment. "Have you heard of the Valley of hope?"

Aatu turned his head as he heard River speak. He could make out her eyes in the dark. "Don't worry. I haven't hurt her." he then turned his attention back to the female he had managed to stop. He could see now that the wolf was female, and didn't seem to show any sign of aggression. He heard her speak quietly, mentioning the Valley of Hope. He cocked his head curiously on one side. "Well, I ain't heard of that. Sounds like a nice place though." he nodded in the direction of the clearing. "Want to come with us? We're all in that clearing there."
He then left her to make up her mind, padding swiftly back to the clearing, his mind focused only on sleep. As he emerged somewhat cautiously from the undergrowth, he found himself looking back over his shoulder to check if the female was following. What choice would she make?

Rivers nodded and smiled as much as she could at the other she-wolf. "We'd love it if you joined us," she said. Then she followed Aatu. Something instinctual urged her to catch up with him and rub slightly against his side and she obeyed the urge, not really knowing why or how'd he'd react if he did. She felt the need to be physically close to him and it was kinda freaking her out.

They emerged from the underbrush, Rivers a step behind Aatu. "We found a she-wolf," she explained. "She asked about the Valley of Hope and we invited her to stay with us."

Cyber watched the two wolves walk away. She knew that she would eventually leave them, but for now she needed to not feel so alone. She decided to tag along with the friendly wolves until the time came to continue her journey to her sister. Cyber rose to her feet, and began following them, looking around anxiously. She knew they weren't the only wolves around, and she couldn't help but feel nervous. Once she caught up to the two wolves, she noticed a third walking close behind them. "How many more of you are there?" She asked the female. Now, Cyber was a little on edge. What if the other wolves decided they didn't want her around? She was too weak to defend herself if they decided to attack her. Cyber stopped walking, and watched the female nervously for a reply.

The male paced camp slowly, his ear giving a twitch every once and awhile. He was unusually uneasy today. Sollux did not know what was bothering him, but nonetheless, something was, and he hoped to be at ease once the hunting party returned. He assumed that this was probably the cause of his worry.

He stopped, and flicked his tail, tipping his head towards the sky, watching a large bird soar through the sky. He sighed, and tapped his claws against the ground. It had cawed and startled him, as he had also been a bit jumpy today. Maybe he needed a nap? He hadn't slept recently, though his eyes did not droop. It might take him actually setting his mind to sleep and going off to do so to send him there, but he decided to stay put.

Sollux dropped his rump to the ground with a soft thud, and a bit of dust. He snorted and let his hetero eyes flitter around. There was also quite a few wolves missing from the camp. Maybe that as causing his unease as well. He rolled his shoulders and licked his chops, taking in a deep breath.

Aatu left the undergrowth and stole into the clearing. In the shadows, he could make out the darker form of a wolf, as well as pick up his scent left on the grass. Aatu walked quietly over to him, settling next to him. He folded his legs under him and looked at the other wolf, seeing that he seemed to be getting ready for a nap. The red wolf nudged him softly and let out a quiet yip to get his attention. "Hi," he whispered. "What's your name? We found another wolf, a female. She doesn't seem to want to hurt us, and she may be coming here to join us." as he said this he lifted his muzzle and looked in the direction of the trees, hoping to see the she-wolf trot out.

Rivers shrugged. "Me, Aatu, Eerie, and Echo," she said. "I think there was one more, over on the edge of the clearing, but I didn't talk to him, so I don't know." She padded into the clearing and over to where Aatu and Sollux were.

"Hey," she said, addressing Sollux. "I'm Rivers." She hoped that the other female would join them, as well. She seemed nice enough, if a bit timid, and it would be nice to have another female around if they did decide to form a pack without the other wolves that had been here. While she would be able to have a mate of her choice were she the only female, she would be lonely without company that she could talk about female things with.

Cyber followed Rivers into the clearing and layed down a few feet away from the three wolves. Exhausted and hungry, she curls into a ball and begins to close her eyes. "If you don't mind, I think I'm going to rest a bit." She tells them. The ground is soft, and she falls asleep quickly.

That night, Cyber's dreams are only of Flora. She dreams that she finally arrives at the Valley of Hope, a land full of wolves who live together in peace. No one is hungry or hurting, everyone is happy. She is finally reunited with her sister. Her and her sister prance around in a field, forgetting about the earthquake and all the obstacles they've overcome to arrive there. But, sadly, the dream doesn't last long. Cyber awakes to a soft noise; an owl in a nearby tree. She watches the owl for a short while, wishing she could simply fly away. She wanted so badly to escape reality and be happy, if only for a day or two. Cyber begins to sob uncontrollably, trying to choke back tears as not to alert the others, but she can't help it. She rises to her feet, and slinks away to the base of the tree with the owl. She cries and cries, praying to herself that her sister is alive and well, and looking for the Valley of Hope. Finally, she lays down, and falls asleep once again.

Sol turned his head to catch view of the he-wolf. "I am Sollux.." he said as he examined him. "Nice to meet you.."

"They did, did they?" He huffed. "You'd think they have enough recruits to decide the lives of." He shook his head slightly. "That alpha is getting full of himself." He then turned his head to yet another wolf. He became a bit tense.

"Sollux. Nice to meet you." He said, and swished his tail over the ground.

Scriber wakes up. She stands to her feet. Weak in the legs, she continues to walk. The only things she thinks about, are the other wolves in her pack, dead. She hears the sound of other wolves in the distance. Excitedly, she begins to walk faster. She sees a flowing river going in the same direction as she is. Scriber stops for a drink of water, and in the reflection she sees the beautiful bright moon. When the clouds pass over the moon, she sees a wolf she once called Scriber. 'This cant be me, can it?' she thinks. She looks shaggy and weak. Now there are scars where the male wolf thrashed her. 'That is not Scriber,' she thinks to herself. Scriber keeps walking, a little slower this time. She gets a strong sent of wolves. Scriber stops to rest. If there are wolves nearby, she has to be prepared.

Echo lay across the clearing with a slightly dejected look on his face with his tail laying heavily next to him having been scolded by Eerie for howling to not only a potentially unknown, but to every predator and prey in the area. The large, gold-brown wolf huffed loudly and threw himself to the side to sprawl across the grass haphazardly in different directions, and huffed again. Eerie who sat only a few feet away shot his long time friend a narrow eyed look of annoyance before turning away to watch the surrounding area for any sign of the two wolves, Rivers and Aatu, return.

A rustle from the underbrush had Echo perking up, his ears raising high and his tail wagging slightly at the sight of Aatu emerging from the shadows. He watched as the red wolf made his way over to. . another wolf? Echo tilted his head to the side in confusion. When did another wolf get there, or was it there the whole time?

Casting Eerie a sidelong glance Echo wondered if he could sneak past the smaller male successfully. Slowly, Echo rolled onto his belly and began to crawl inch by inch around Eerie, going around his back so as to have a better chance not to be seen. A slim but heavy paw smacked solidly into Echo's liver colored nose. Echo looked up, pale yellow eyes meeting dark amber, amber eyes which glared down at him with a clear 'no' written in them. Echo grunted in irritation but laid back down regardless. Eerie watched as Echo settled back down, only looking away when he was sure the other wasn't going to try and go anywhere. "Stay put Echo." Echo himself just breathed out a sigh in return.

Certain that the elder wasn't going to move, Eerie stood and made his way over to where Aatu and Rivers now sat with the wolf that had been left behind, glancing briefly at the new female they had brought back. Moving slowly so as not to startled or spook anyone, Eerie sat next to Aatu. "Hello," he greeted quietly.

Velvet’s appearance

Velvet headed from the open lands back into the small woods the pack had first met in. She carried in her jaw a large chunk of their kill, a healthy doe. Overall the hunt had been successful and had proven they could work well together as a pack. However, the pup’s stunt at trying to take down a ten point stag alone was playing on her mind. Why would Luna feel the need to prove herself? It only backed up what Velvet had been thinking all along; the pup was too young to be on pack hunts. If only they’d had a few more wolves, then Velvet could have stayed behind to pup sit and the near accident would never have happened.

The femme frowned slightly as she thought of Kade’s reaction. The other female had been very brash and harsh to Luna, literally dragging her by the scruff to their alpha’s paws. Velvet knew Kade was a very dominant personality but the way she showed it made her wary. She liked Kade, but the other seemed to have a lot of trouble controlling her temper. Being so headstrong was good for hunting, but not for interacting with a pack. Certainly it wasn’t good for getting to know new packmates. However, it was the alpha’s job to ensure wolves were kept in line. If Remington saw issue with how Kade acted then it was for him to confront her.

Velvet’s expression softened as she thought of Remington, her tail slowly wagging as she headed back to the clearing the pack would meet in. She may be a huge flirt, enjoying the attentions shown to her by males, but it was becoming very obvious to her that Remington was something special. She wanted to be close to him beyond the desire to have attention shown to her, wanted to support him however she could.

Her ears perked as the clearing came into view. At least, a sign that the clearing was near. The large boulder at one side of it sat ahead, jutting a little into the trees. Velvet bounded forward and sprang up onto the unoccupied boulder. Her move would have been a fluid one, leaping onto the rock then to the grass of the clearing below, had it not been for the sight of six wolves before her. She skidded to a halt atop the rock, dropping the chunk of meat in shock. She’d seen no sign of wolves not in their newly formed pack and was surprised to see such a gathering in the short time since they’d gone to hunt.

Taking a deep breath, she could still smell traces of the pack lingering in the clearing, beneath the scent of these strangers; she recognised her own scent mingled in. She definitely had the right place. ”I’m sorry” her gentle voice spread through the clearing, ”I wasn’t expecting anyone to be here.”

Kade padded into the clearing after Velvet, startled at the presence of newer wolves. She instinctively took a defensive position, expecting an attack and to have to defend both herself and Velvet. When it became clear no one was attacking, she straightened back up. Her chuck of meat was sitting by her feet where she'd dropped it. "Umm . . . Who are y'all?" she asked, glancing around. A mottled brown female beside a red male and someone lying down, and a larger male near a smaller one. It was definitely the clearing from earlier in the day.

"Guys! The pack from earlier must be back!" Rivers exclaimed, jumping up and bouncing over to the pair. "I'm Rivers, this is Aatu, those are Echo and Eerie, and the one over there is Sollux." She sniffed at Kade, who flinched back.

"Umm . . . Remington can take care of it. He's the alpha," she decided. He probably wouldn't appreciate it if she were to make a decision for him, anyways.

Cyber watched the two females walk into the clearing. They seemed hesitant and shocked at the sight of the others. Watching for a while, Cyber eventually makes her way away from the trees. She decides to stand beside Rivers, she felt comfortable around her. Suddenly, something catches her attention. Cyber sees a scrawny wolf walking towards them. Something about the wolf was familiar. Cyber makes her way towards the wolf.

Scriber walks through the tall grass. Her weak legs pull her body forward. All of a sudden, she smells wolves. In the distance she sees a small wooded area. Excited, she runs towards the trees. Her paws slam against the ground faster and faster. Then, a thought crosses her mind. 'What if they aren't friendly?' Scriber slows to a walk. Thinking, she stops and looks up at the sky. She's all alone anyway. She needs to find herself a pack, she won't make it far on her own. Scriber continues walking towards the trees, when she sees another wolf walking towards her. The other wolf looks hungry, but fairly healthy. She can't help but wonder the outcome if they were to get into a fight.

Once she finally reaches the other wolf, they both stop walking. The wolf is tanned and pretty big compared to herself. "I come in peace," She tells the female. "I need help, I'm trying to get to the Valley of Hope..." Just as those words escape her mouth, the other wolf's eyes light up. "You too? Maybe we could go together!" Just then, she notices that there are other wolves around. Worried, she begins to back up, but stops. 'She seems friendly,' Scriber thinks, 'I hope the others are the same...'
