"Uh, yea," Cyber answered hesitantly. Her eyes darted between Marcel and Kade. She could sense some tension between them. Did Kade know something Cyber didn't? Cyber looked at Kade, silently questioning the strange relationship. She trusted Kade, and if she thought ill of this new pack member, then maybe Cyber should avoid him...

Suddenly, Cyber heard Nova making a commotion. The female seemed... alarmed? Cyber couldn't tell what was going on. "What happened? Is everything alright?" She asked the wolf. Cyber looked around where Nova was looking.

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta

Kade shook her head to Cyber. "I know what is happening and it isn't a big deal," she said. "Nothing you need to worry about." She'd let Marcel's question go unanswered on purpose, and now she looked back at him.

"Perhaps, if this pack had a home already, I would be," Kade pointed out. "But at the moment? No. I'm not very busy. And Cyber can teach you submission, as could most members of this pack, but I can teach you why. I can teach you respect." Her voice was even, with no hint of anger, or any other emotion. There was a slight emphasis on 'respect' but other than that, nothing.


Rivers || Female || 3 years || Scout

Rivers nodded, and was about to say something, but was interrupted by a yawn. "Yeah," she said, when she could speak again, "but I think we'll be going soon; Remington is probably done talking to the new guys." She didn't want to be asleep when everyone else was about to go, even though it would be easy to catch up with them by scent. The mottled brown she-wolf stood, gently disengaging herself from Sollux, and stretched. "Have you got a place?"

Velvet’s appearance

Velvet frowned as she watched Remington, aware that something was wrong but unsure what. He seemed a bit out of it, having not even noticed she’d been looking his way, waiting for him to address the pack. She stood up, ready to go over to her mate, but was stopped by Kade. ”Okay…” she hesitated slightly, still wanting to go and provide comfort but taking the word of a wolf who’d had a mate as a more sensible decision than following her heart, ”Just, make sure he’s okay, will you?” It was evident to anyone who heard her words that she cared greatly for Remington, and that if something were to happen she’d be in a great deal of pain. The thought of losing her mate, the chance at a new family, so soon after losing her birth pack was unbearable.

She followed Kade with her gaze as she moved to the alpha male, anxious. Nova’s call startled her and she looked around, confused. The female was looking to the other side of the clearing, but Velvet could sense nothing there. She tilted her head, looking in question to the newer female. Go along with it? She didn’t want to go along with it; she wanted to go and comfort her mate. If it wasn’t for Kade’s advice, the word of an ex-alpha who had had a mate before, Velvet would already be over with the male.

If the alpha female had more experience of dominant ranks she’d realise why Nova was trying to distract the pack. Unfortunately, her only role within a pack until now had been as a pup sitter. Her days had been busy supervising the education of the young, not watching the dominant wolves work out their ranks.

Velvet hesitated, torn between following Nova and some of the pack to the other side of the clearing, and following after Remington to make sure he was okay. When Raven approached her mate her decision was made and she instinctually ran towards him. Raven, while displaying no strange ways himself, had accompanied Marcel into the clearing. By default Velvet was unable to trust the male until it was explained why he acted the way he did. Therefore she also didn’t trust his companion, Raven, especially around her mate.

Velvet jumped between Remington and Raven, expression full of concern and focus solely on her mate. ”Remington,” she whimpered, ”Are you okay?”

Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though)

Remington heard the pack silence a bit and he knew that most of them heard him. He was born strong and would not look weak, the thing hurting the most now was his head, it was throbbing and felt as if it was going to explode. As he heard Kade approaching he looked up as she stood before him, her words meant well, but did nothing. He couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she left as soon as she came. "silly cute beta" he said to himself. Remington managed to quickly stand up ignoring the pain in his head even though it was pretty much unbearable. Then as Raven peeked his head in through the bushes he looked to him as if nothing was wrong, but before he could speak to Raven Velvet came in between them. He could tell she was worried, but you smirked and smiled to her, for her beauty and worry was cute. Remington was smart, he can come up with something, the pack knew he yelped in pain but they don't know why he thought. Standing he licked Velvet's cheek, muzzle, and neck before saying to both Velvet and Raven, uh.. yes! I am fine no need to worry yourselves at all! I was bitten by one those nasty horse flies and came back here to do my business. My lovely don't worry I would never leave you. Thank you Raven for your concern." He smiled to Velvet again and chuckled, "Did you talk to the last to newbies and give them their ranks?" knowing she hadn't he hoped she would go off quickly to do that so he could think for a minute what might be making him feel like this.

Remington then walked back into the clearing and wanted everyone's attention. "Alright everyone no more waiting its time to head out! I would like everyone to find at least one other wolf to be sort of your travel buddy. I want to make sure that one wolf does not get separated. We will start off by travelling close by to the river, hydration is important!" Remington then howled out, glancing to Velvet seeing where she was and and started walking out of the clearing, he didn't even look to see if anyone was following at first because it hit him he new what was making him ill he has not eaten our drank in over a day. He gave his share of food to some newcomers and has not left to get a drink in a while. Remington growled constantly shaking his head wildly, it hurt but it would have to wait until the pack stopped to rest for the night.

Cyber got excited when Remington announced their departure. She began following Remington. She could sense something was wrong with the alpha, but decided to leave it alone. She was sure others have been bothering him enough lately. Her feet pounded the ground as she walked, quick gentle steps pulled her along.

Dakota | Male | 2 years | Lead Hunter

Dakota's ears perked up when Remington began walking. He jumped to his feet and followed behind. He let his thoughts wander from future mates to his old pack and then began thinking about the Valley of Hope. He never had this much alone time; he was usually always with someone. He looked around, hoping for someone to accompany him so he wouldn't be alone with his thoughts.

Sollux was about to say something about them resting under a nearby tree, where he had slept for the past while, when Remington called to start the journey. He let out a slight sigh, and then smiled. " Well, never mind a rest, we needn't be held back, aye?" He suddenly lost the need for sleep, feeling excitement take that from him. "Are you ready to go, my dearest Rivers?"

His tail swished at the thought of them finally setting out the the Valley of Hope, not bothering to dwell on the fear of loosing anyone. He walked in place, a big, goofy smile on his face. They would be one step closer to new pups, he and Rivers a step closer to having these pups. His mismatched eyes sparkled with a new light. He had a new goal; keep Rivers safe, and then their pups with her.

When Velvet shoved her way between him and Remington he immediately backed away. Taking on a submissive stance. Raven didn't want the alpha female thinking he'd been trying anything funny on her mate. When Remington assured them both he was perfectly fine and moved on Raven stared after him uncertainly, but didn't dare challenge the older male's statement. At the order of partnering up with at least one other wolf Raven glanced around himself anxiously. Marcel looked like he might already have a partner and he'd like to get to know some of his new packmates better, but he wasn't really sure how to go about approaching any of them.

Marcel stared after Cyber in dismay as she headed out without waiting for him. They'd been having such a lovely conversation before Kade interrupted. Now the she-wolf seemed more wary of him. He glowered at Kade a bit. Was she purposefully trying to alienate him? "Oh, so you're going to teach me respect are you? Good luck with that," he scoffed, trotting ahead of her. His tail whacking her on the nose as he passed before being lashed out of the way in case she tried to bite it.

Kade didn't do anything when her nose was hit. She simply trotted after Marcel, analyzing the way he walked and his speed. Then, with a speed born of years of fighting, she lunged forwards and closed her jaws around his tail, hard enough to hold it but not hard enough as to make him bleed. This was a seasoned warrior with the scars to prove it, who had won battle after battle, against some upstart male who she knew hadn't fought a day in his life. And she was in a perfect position to rip off his tail, if she chose.

"Yes," she snarled, from the corner of her mouth, voice slightly muffled from his tail. "You'll respect me, because even if you learn to fight, I will be able to beat you at any given time. Learn to respect me, and I'll teach you to fight."

Rivers giggled at being called 'dearest', but nodded her agreement. "I am," she said, beginning to trot in the general direction of their packmates before pausing for Sollux to catch up. Yes, their pups would be beautiful, and she would tear the throat out of the first wolf to say anything else, no matter who it was. She couldn't wait to get to the Valley, but knew that the journey would be the true test of how well they functioned as a unit. If they couldn't make it through this, they won't be able to properly raise pups.

He chuckled and trotted after her. His mind was racing with the wonders of the journey, The Valley, and, mostly, of being a father. He was ready to defend Rivers, so that he would be able to be a father. He wouldn't be able to bare losing Rivers, either. Though, Sollux wouldn't hesitate to die for her. He had lost a mate already, and loosing Rivers knowing he could have done something to save her, once more, he would go into a deep depression, probably even worse. He gently shook his head.

"Im so excited. I can't wait to see what The Valley is like." His tail wagged rather a lot, now thinking, once more, of all the good things. "It'll be a great place to have pups, aye? For making love under a starlit sky.." He teased, and nudged her, nipping at her shoulder. "Yes?"

Cyber looked around at the group, searching for a partner. She decided to get to know Raven, since she already spoke with Marcel. "Hey," she said to him. "I'm Cyber, can I walk with you for a it?" She asked, keeping pace with him. She looked at Marcel and Kade, then back to Raven. "How long have you known him?" She asked, guestering to Marcel. "Did you used to live with humans too?"

Raven began to panic a little when the rest of the pack wolves seemed to be partnering up and he still had no one to walk with. Just as he was about to hurry over and join Marcel after all the same she-wolf who had spoken up on his behalf earlier came padding up beside him. A relieved smile crossed his muzzle. "Hello Cyber, I'm Raven, and I don't mind at all," he replied cheerily. "I was just beginning to think I would have to travel on my own so thanks for coming over here."

Cyber's questioning how he knew Marcel had the black and white male glancing back towards his friend who's tail appeared to be caught in Kade's mouth. He wasn't sure he wanted to know and quickly turned his attention back to Cyber. Praying his associate wouldn't do anything stupid. "Oh no, I've always been wild. I met Marcel a little after the earthquake happened. He didn't really know how to take care of himself so I tried to help him out. Haven't really done a good job though. I don't think I'm cut out for teaching."

When Kade's mouth closed around his tail a moment later despite his being sure he'd pulled it out of the way a loud snarl ripped from his throat and he turned on the female on instinct, snapping at her muzzle. He hadn't made contact, something in his brain reminding him that would not be wise, but he didn't like this at all. "Release me!" He growled, hardly hearing her little speech about respect. His fur bristled and he attempted to yank his tail from between her teeth vainly. Sometimes his former owner's children had pulled on his tail. Tugging relentlessly until he could manage to escape the little brats. They were lucky he'd never mauled any of them for such impudence.

Raoula leapt to her paws, excited at the announcement that they would be leaving. Her tail began to wag, when it suddenly fell limp. She had remembered her old pack, who had probably all died in the earthquake. But maybe one of them was still alive, wandering the woods somewhere. She might be leaving her only living relative behind, for all she knew. A whine began in her throat as she gazed into the trees. What to do? She couldn't very well leave her pack now, but how could she leave someone who could possibly be alive from her old pack? Raoula turned her sights to the present, putting the past behind her. As a final parting message, just in case, she threw back her head and howled an achingly sad, heart-breaking howl, that echoed between the trees before finally dying to nothing. The silence that followed her howl was almost as heartbreaking as the howl itself-she knew any living wolf anywhere near would have heard her and howled back. Turning away to follow the pack, she shook herself and sought a partner, as Remington had said. She located Nova and went towards her. "Hello," she said as she arrived. "Want to travel with me?" she began to walk keeping an eye on Nova as she went. She wanted to give Nova time to reply, but the pack was already moving off.

Aatu|Male|5 years old|Fighter

Aatu leapt to his paws in eagerness when Remington announced they would be going. He thought of his old pack briefly, but he knew he was building a new future with these wolves, a new life, and leaving the wreckage of the earthquake behind him. He looked around for a partner, and his gaze settled on Luna. He walked over to the pup. "Hi," he said. "Do you want to be my travel buddy?" he awaited the pup's reply, aware the pack was moving away from him but secure in the knowledge that he could keep up.

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta

Kade's laughter was more of a snarl of amusement. Oh, she'd release him . . . Then teach him the meaning of fear. The beta's jaw tightened and she felt something in his tail snap between her teeth. Quickly, she let him go, then shot forwards and directly into his face. Her teeth closed around something, a leg or his throat, she couldn't tell which at the moment. Even though he was larger, she was by far stronger, because she five years she had fought tooth and claw for survival, while this pup had had the protection of humans. Whatever was in her mouth then was too large to speak around, so she clamped down a little harder.

Rivers was slightly distracted as she realized that a fight was going on. Kade and Marcel? She decided not to worry about it and simply nuzzled Sollux in return. "Oh, we'll see," she said, the blush returning to her cheeks. She blushed a lot around him. "I wonder what Marcel did to Kade. She seems pretty angry."

Cyber listened to Raven speak, but her attention was turned towards Marcel and Kade. "Kade will teach him," she giggled. "So, Remington couldn't have assigned you to pup if you're wild. What rank are you?" She asked the male. Her paws padded the earth as she walked alongside Raven, following their alpha. It was nice having a leader, but Cyber still missed some things about being alone.

"He assigned me as a scout for now," Raven replied. Marcel had been ranked as a pup? Oh, he wasn't going to like that. "Erm, I actually have a question for you," he started, looking mildly embarrassed. "I've never actually been part of a pack before. What exactly does a scout do?" He hadn't wanted to ask Remington considering he obviously wasn't feeling well whether he waned to admit it or not. Raven's mother had never explained to him how packs worked. Only shown him how to survive as a lone wolf.

Marcel did his best to suppress the whine that threatened to leave his mouth as Kade's teeth clamped down on his tail. Finally a yelp did escape his maw when he felt bone snap between her teeth. He stared at her almost incredulously, blinded by pain. Had this witch seriously just broken his tail!? What if Remington and Velvet kicked him out now because he was wounded!? Anger coursed through him and a savage snarl ripped from his throat. He didn't hesitate now to snap at her face, but then she abruptly let go.

Kade was too quick for him to retaliate and was soon at his front, her fangs now sinking into his foreleg. Instinct mixed with rage kicked any logical thoughts from his mind and he lashed out, his own teeth biting into her muzzle around his leg, accompanied by ferocious growling. He bit down till his teeth felt bone, though it was too strong to snap as she had his tail. He had no idea how to properly fight. The human had always kept him well away from anything that could harm him and Raven had protected him in the wilds thus far, but he couldn't just let this infuriating female break every bone in his body now could he?
