Hunting Thread

nzhilk.jpg

You have left your forest home, left without your pack. The earthquake shook a massive hole in your life. Now, you search for the Valley of Hope and for a new pack to share your life with.

Before each post you must put this:
With Alpha's name's Pack
Character name || Sex || Age || Rank
This is to make sure there is no confusion.

Occasionally I will post plot updates, with weather/prey/landscapes coming into play. You’ll see what I mean after I’ve done this a few times. Every update will have ‘Plot Update’ written before it.

Please take your time with your responses, and allow at least couple of people to post their own replies before you post again, even if you’re only interacting with one person at the time. This makes sure replies are well thought out, nobody is controlling someone else’s character, and everyone has the chance to get involved in whatever happens before the RP moves on from that.

Pack hunts will be arranged every so often by the alpha. I will set up a hunting thread that I will link here. Once the alpha has chosen the hunters you will RP that your character has left with the hunting party, and then switch to the hunting thread to RP the hunt. This is so that characters in the hunt and in the rest of the pack don’t get confused about who is where. I find it makes things much easier to follow this way. You may hunt small prey alone here, but group hunting must be done away from the pack, in the hunting thread. You will then RP your return here, and either bring the prey or lead the pack to the prey, all in this thread. Only hunting will take place in the hunting thread.

My rule of at least four sentences per post is absolute. If you don’t follow this you will get a strike by your name. Three strikes and you will no longer be allowed to rp here. I may remove a strike if you post a lot of detail in your next few posts.

Strikes
Nobody :3 let’s keep it that way, yeah?

The last thing to say is have fun everyone!

Current Plot Update

The wolf pack travelled across the soaked plains and have come to the base of the mountain. The rains have passed for now and the sun shines down. However, they must make the decision to either go around or over the mountains. They will soon encounter new wolves, but whether this be a good or bad encounter is up to their choice! Spring is still here and flowers will soon bloom.

Character Sheets

No thread generated. The original poster of this RP thread will be able to generate one for this feature.

Cyber | Female | 3 years | Pup Sitter

Cyber listened to Remington's speech and then Kade's remark. 'This won't be a strong pack if we can't get along, especially if the beta and alpha can't get along,' Cyber thought to herself. 'How will we manage making it to the Valley of Hope if we can't make it a few miles away from the clearing without hurting eachother,' Cyber was frustrated. She had imagined the trip to be a time for them to get closer and maybe become similar to a real pack. She was too hopeful. Cyber took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. She hoped her family would take her back and instead, she found them dead. Maybe she should stop being so ambitious. It hurt to be let down.

Cyber began walking toward Marcel and Raven. "Hey," she said to them, trying to force a smile. " Maybe we should get back to the group," she suggested, walking by their side. "I hope you stop hurting soon," she told Marcel. She was sincere about it too. She didn't want to see him in pain, well, she didn't want to see anyone in pain. She kept her head fairly low and dragged herself forward.

As she walked, she overheard Sollux and Rivers' discussion. "Excuse me?" She said, sounding irritated. "Maybe have a little respect for your alpha," she barked, fur in her neck slowly raising. "He's doing his best, he's obviously new at this!" Her top lip revealed her sharp teeth and a low growl slowly escaped her throat. "Maybe he did have it better than you, but we ALL lost someone! At least he's bringing us along with him, he could have left on his own and abandoned all of us!" She snapped at Sollux. Her ears were pinned against her head and her tail stuck straight out. Her mouth opened slightly. She was frustrated with the way they were talking about him. He was their alpha after all. That should gain him at least some respect. In Cyber's mind, calling their leader a 'little princess' and saying that he should 'toughen up a bit' was ignorant. Cyber took a moment and relaxed a bit. She had over did it. She was stressed and angry and confused. She just needed to take it out on someone.

Cyber looked at Sollux, about to apologize, but instead turned away. She felt bad for taking it out on him, but she wasn't about to apologize.

Rivers || Female || 3 years || Mate of Sollux || Scout

Rivers growled softly in her throat as Cyber snapped at Sollux. "I've never been respected in my life," she snarled quietly. "I never had a real family. My entire life I was told I was ugly, that no one would ever love me, that I was a waste of space. Luckily, I was never disfigured as Twist was; she certainly has had it worse than all of us. But I just met Remington yesterday. He can't just tell us that we have to respect everyone when some of us don't even know how to start with respect. We may have our moments and ranks but we're far from being as close as a real pack."

Her voice held barely-contained rage. "And who cares if we have an opinion? Maybe it wasn't worded well but we both think that Remington can't just expect us all to change our entire lifestyles in a few days. Stuff like that takes months, sometimes even years."

"And don't you dare take out your frustration on us," Rivers added. "We were having a conversation that did not include you."

Marcel | Male | 4 Years Old | Temporary Pup
---
Mentions: Cyber, Rivers, Sollux, Remington, Velvet, Kade, Dakota, Twist

Marcel merely nodded his head in agreement with Cyber's statement that they should return to the pack. He certainly wasn't in any hurry to be left behind already. He and Raven trailed after the brown she-wolf, pausing when she suddenly whirled around to confront River and Sollux. "What the heck happened while we were gone?" Raven whispered and Marcel just shrugged in response. He couldn't spot Remington or Velvet anywhere and it seemed as if the traveling had stopped before it even began without the alpha pair there to lead them onward. He quickly lost interest in the argument going on there while Raven continued to stare between Rivers, Sollux and Cyber in concern. Knowing the dark furred wolf would wait for Cyber, Marcel moved on.

Catching sight of Twist, he padded over to the scarred she-wolf despite her snarling at him earlier. To any wolf with two eyes she looked irritated and was better off being left alone, especially after snapping at Dakota, but he came right up to her anyway. Still not understanding what an omega was or that he might possibly outrank her he approached with his tail down and head at a respectable level as Raven had showed him earlier. Clearly Twist was a fighter of some sort with battle wounds like those, right? He wasn't looking for further injury. "Hello, uh, Twist was it? I found a pond and washed off the blood. I'm afraid I've already forgotten your other advice though. I was...not in the best mood when you first came to me. I apologize for being rude to you-" he attempted with a charming smile before Kade jumped onto the scene asking what had happened. He huffed at being interrupted, but backed away a few paces.

Sollux || Male || 4 years, 2 Months || Hunter
--
Sollux brought his form taller at the snapping of Cyber, no longer slouched and relaxed. His tail lifted half way as he snarled. "I dont believe either of us ever invited you to the conversation. Thus, you have no place, not in any way, to interfere. Is there something wrong with telling the truth? Would you like it if I had lied and said 'Ooh, Remmington is perfect! We should all easily respect someone we just met and is as new to being an alpha as a pup to the new world!' That, in a nice way, is the definition of ignorance." He glared at Cyber as she walked away. "And don't come trailing back here!" He snapped.

He let out a angry sigh, and leaned against Rivers slightly, tail returning down, fur lying flat, and body relaxing. "Did I overreact?" he said quietly, half to himself. "I just don't think she had a place interfering. Thank you for defending me." He sighed again, trying to rid that anger from his body.

Addressed to Rivers, Cyber.

Cyber | Female | 3 years | Pup Sitter

"My apologies," Cyber said to Rivers. "I'm... Im just going through a rough time right now," she admitted, head down. "Well, we all are," she corrected. She knew she wasn't the only one who lost someone and she understood why they would have trouble respecting someone they had just met. Cyber felt bad for taking it out at them, especially Rivers. Rivers was the nicest person to her when she first arrived, this was no way to treat her. Cyber turned away from the two angry wolves and began walking back towards Raven.

'And don't come trailing back here!' Sollux had said to her. It echoed through her mind. Cyber looked around at the group, examining each and every wolf. This wasn't home, and they weren't her friends or family. They were temporary until she found Flora. Cyber looked at Raven. "I think I have to leave for a bit," she whispered to him, head and ears down and tail limp. "I need time to think, and, uh, grieve I guess," she didn't know how to explain it to him and she didn't think he would care. Cyber began walking away from the group. She would continue following them, but from a distance and maybe a while behind. She couldn't continue using them. Maybe if she was actually useful to them it would be different, but for now she could be selfish. It's not like she'd never been alone before. She dragged herself away, head and tail down, chocking back tears.

Once she was far enough away, Cyber curled into a ball underneath a large tree. She began sobbing uncontrollably. "Please, Flora please," she begged. She didn't want to be without her sister anymore. She began shaking and crying under the tree, begging for her sister to find her. She didn't just miss her sister, she missed her parents, her younger siblings that had died in her account. She missed the stories of the human ways her father would tell them. She missed playing with her sister and observing the nature around them. She missed her home. "Why did I ever leave them?" She asked herself quietly, referring to her parents. "I never even got to say bye..."

((Didn't read over it so there might be a few mistakes :P))

Finally got to posting because I'm borrowing my friends computer! YAY! Hope I addressed everything that happend! Hmm Rusty how far from the edge of the woods do you think the wolf pack is?

Nova | | Female | | 3 years | | Fighter

Nova watched and listened in silence as Remington confronted Kade in front of the pack and laid down how he wanted the pack to be like. She had noticed that most of the wolves seemed to be backing up Kade despite the fact Remington was alpha...did they want to follow Kade instead? Even if one disagreed with the alpha Nova had been lead to believe that they should back the alpha up unless he was doing something truly evil...at least that is what she had come to believe. She was angry, frustrated and slightly disappointed in the reactions of the some of the wolves in the pack. Remington seemed like a smart wolf and Nova did not think he expected them to change their habits right away. He was just laying down the way he saw the pack should work, so that the other wolves would have a goal on how to behave and act in the pack. At the moment most of the wolves were whining about Remington’s speech some even saying that he had an easy life. They were not comprehending what Remington’s meaning or at least the meaning Nova thought Remington had tried to get across. Nova herself had known the love of a wolf and had been in a very violent pack during the month after the earthquake and she understood how very different they were. Even if one did not mind the thought of continuous fighting a wolf would have to take into account that injuries would severely slow the pack down in a migration.

Though Nova had never been in a very strict pack which was different then a violent one she could not shake of the feeling that it would not work on this particular group of wolves either. Having a very strict pack ment no room for movement and expression of ideas even for the lower ranking wolves. The very idea that strange unrelated wolves would gather together and go on a migration instead of making a territory boggled the mind and would not have come into existence if all the wolves in the clearing had once been from a strict pack. Nova shook her head really wanting to knock some sense into the bickering wolves, but sometimes violence and words were not enough and Nova could see that for the moment at least most of the wolves were so offended by Remington’s speech that they would not listen to reason. Lifting her head Nova saw that the shadows were lengthening signalling that it was going to get dark pretty soon...the argument had taken up a surprisingly long amount of time. Nova looked at Raoula. “ Would you like me to get you a snack? I’m quite hungry and I’m going to catch some small game since it looks like there will not be a big hunt anytime soon.”

Raoula|Female|4 years old|Hunter

Raoula dropped her head as Remington confronted Kade. Ears flattened, she remained looking small and submissive as Remington spoke. She didn't want the alpha to take out any of his anger on her. In her old pack, she knew from experience that to remain quiet was to remain out of trouble. She didn't really know who to back, but it seemed odd that Kade had already attacked Marcel. Still, they were unrelated wolves, who had come together only to survive. Of course there was going to be some bickering. Nothing could go perfectly with such unusual circumstances.
She turned her head as Nova spoke to her. "No, I'll come with you," she said. "I may as well, anyway. We're not going to go far, I don't think."
With that, she began to pad into the trees, still looking behind her to make sure Nova would follow. She didn't want to get lost.

Aatu|Male|5 years old|Fighter

Aatu padded some way behind the pack, bringing up the rear. He yawned, showing his ivory teeth. Already, his tread was slowing, his fur dusty. Hanging his head, he followed the pack, until Remington confronted Kade. Aatu stood impassively, watching. He was honestly too tired to care much about the outcome. As long as their pack had a clear leader, everything was going to be alright. If things got too bad, he could always strike off on his own. Tail limp, he walked a way after them, then realised a lot of wolves were going into the trees. With a sigh, he followed, welcoming the shade and the damp. He found a small puddle in the mud and quenched his thirst, licking droplets off his muzzle.

Raven | Male | 2 Years Old | Scout
---
Mentions: Cyber, Kade, Twist

Raven's ears fell back against his head as Cyber left the pack. She looked so dejected and downtrodden. A whine escaped his muzzle and amber eyes followed after her in concern. He glanced over his shoulder to where Marcel stood nearby Twist and Kade. Despite the previous incident the blue-gray male didn't seem traumatized by the event and was now holding a proper posture. He'd finally learned. Perhaps Kade could teach him something yet. That was when Raven made the decision to follow Cyber away from the other wolves. She had said she wanted to be alone, but he couldn't just let her leave like this. From the moment she'd spoken up on his and Marcel's behalf when they'd first arrived he had been looking forward to getting to know this kind she-wolf better.

He found her sobbing uncontrollably beneath a tree, mumbling something incoherent and he hesitated for a long moment, not wanting to interrupt such a vulnerable moment. Once most of the crying had subsided he dared approach her. "Cyber," he whispered gently as he moved around so she could see him, not wanting her to think he'd been spying or trying to sneak up on her. "I know you said you wanted to be on your own and if that is really true I will leave you be, but no wolf ought to be alone for long. When we first came here you told your alphas you would leave with me and Marcel if we were turned away. No one has ever shown us such compassion before. In return, I would like to do the same for you. I know we do not know each other very well and this may seem odd, but it doesn't seem right to leave you behind after the kindness you've given me. Marcel has the pack to look after him now. He doesn't need me anymore. I'm sure you are fully capable of taking care of yourself without any help, but...will you let me stay with you? Those wolves...they seem so rough. I'm not sure I'd fit in with them if I tried."

Cyber | Female | 3 years | Pup Sitter?

Cyber jumped a bit when she heard someone whispering her name. She looked up at Raven, listening to what he had to say. Suddenly, she didn't feel so upset anymore. She felt less 'heavy' and hope began infecting her thoughts once again. She stood up and walked closer to him. "Yea," she whispered, smiling slightly through glossy eyes. "Are you sure you want to come with me though?" Her smile fades away, and instead, she began feeling concerned for him. Was he really going to give away life in a pack for her, simply because he felt he owed her? "You'd be safer with them, it'd be easier to survive," she wasn't trying to convince him to go back to them, she'd love it if he stayed with her, but she'd feel awful if he ended up regretting the decision. "I won't be upset," she lied. "Please don't do this for me, do it because you honestly want to," she continued. "I don't want you to end up hurt or wishing you hadn't come with me..." Cyber looked at him, head down slightly. She was scared of his answer. She didn't want to be alone, but she didn't want him to be stuck with her either.

(I didn't realise I'd practically written an essay O.o ah well...enjoy guys XD)

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female
Velvet’s appearance

Velvet returned, rabbit in jaws, just as Remington began to address the pack. She dropped it and sat, listening to what he had to say. Her ears fell as she was reminded that he had never had a proper pack, not being able to imagine what that life was like. To her being alone was a fate worse than death. She was raised to not just know that a wolf wasn’t whole without their pack behind them, but to truly believe that. The wolf made the pack and the pack made the wolf; neither could function apart. To Velvet, to be removed from a pack was akin to part of your soul being torn out. It was why she knew she’d never fully be able to put her birth pack behind her, nor forget their tragic end.

The silver femme was surprised to hear that her mate’s father had been an alpha. She looked down, a small feeling of inadequacy taking seed in her. Remington came from an established lineage of dominance, whereas Velvet’s ancestors had as far as she knew all been what would be considered an ordinary pack wolf. Nothing special distinguished them. Of course, she had her beauty, but that wouldn’t help her be a worthy alpha to this pack.

Velvet was shocked at the gruesome end Remington’s sister had come to. It must have been an awful thing to see. Always one to try and see something good in any situation, the thought did cross her mind that at least this meant he would understand the pain they were feeling having lost their families so suddenly. A wolf who’d been completely alone their whole life was already too broken to comprehend the pain going through a pack wolf without their pack.

She nudged the rabbit to Remington, pleased that he was admitting his hunger. It wouldn’t spell well for their pack if he hid things from the start. Plus, he needed to consume the meat to get the rabbit’s strength. Otherwise they might not manage the long journey ahead of them.

Velvet’s eyes widened as Remington revealed before the whole pack why Marcel acted so strangely. She looked to the younger male apologetically, head lowered slightly in shame. If she’d known he’d been brought up away from wolves then she’d never have reacted so badly to his lack of social manners. He was a broken wolf, missing a whole deeper aspect to his personality; at least, that’s how Velvet saw it. The innate desire for a pack inside wolves from birth must have been morphed by the humans, twisting how he acted. Velvet wasn’t sure she’d be comfortable knowing how to react around Marcel, but she understood now and wouldn’t be offended by his actions anymore.

The femme smiled as Remington took the rabbit after finishing his speech. The nudge indicated that he wanted her to follow, and she would, but she wanted to stay for a few moments to make sure the pack reacted positively to what she saw as encouraging words from the alpha about how they should look after each other. She was horrified as she realised that the pack were reacting the opposite way to how she expected them to. She hesitated before remembering that as alpha female she now had the right to speak to the pack as a group. She hoped that one day she’d prove worthy enough for them to look to her for guidance, but for now she had to try and do damage control, to help keep everyone calm.

”We’re all in a really new situation here,” she spoke, tone light and calm, ”Forming an unrelated pack is a very peculiar thing to do, and it’s not going to be without its hardships and learning curves, but that doesn’t mean we should argue at the first hurdle. We all saw something in Remington when we chose to look to him as alpha. That’s not to say he’s a perfect alpha yet, or even a good one, but a pack needs structure if it’s going to survive a journey like the one we’re trying to make.

If any of you are feeling what I am then you’re still mourning your recent losses and terrified about what the future may hold. Those feelings are all valid, but we’ve got to remember that things have changed for all of us in the pack, and that everyone’s going to react differently. Remington has never been an alpha before, and he’s trying his best. Instead of holding in your issues and letting them out in an outburst, you should speak openly. That’s the best way to solve problems, and the only real solution we have given how many obstacles we’re going to face on the way. We need to be able to work together as a unit. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy; I come from a small pack which didn’t have a single loner join for my whole life, but it’s within all of us to be able to form a functioning unit. We were all born with that instinct.

Now, although I understand why some of you feel stressed under the pressure of needing to form a working pack in a short time, I can’t accept you taking that out on my mate. I don’t know what most of your pasts were like, but where I come from loyalty is the most important thing. Of course it’s going to take everyone a while to become loyal to each other, and earn respect, but that doesn’t mean we should be talking behind each other’s backs and throwing insults around”

She frowned at members of the pack as they bickered, watching a few go off by themselves. Perhaps they all needed a break from each other for a bit. She looked up at the birds and breathed in, sensing the environment around them. ”I think this forest is almost at an end,” she told them, ”I don’t know what lies beyond it, but given how tense everyone is it might be best to make our way to the edge of the trees in small groups and meet up once we get there. If anyone needs either myself or Remington then you can howl for us.”

She turned from the pack to follow the route Remington had taken, feeling slightly embarrassed. She’d never addressed a group of wolves like that and she’d probably just made a big fool of herself. Nonetheless she suspected that if she hadn’t said something the arguments would have spiralled and the pack would have fallen apart before it truly formed. She sniffed out Remington beside the river and decided to sneak up on him with an intention to lighten the mood. She grinned, tail wagging a little, as she came up with a plan. Creeping around the undergrowth, she made it to the perfect position from which she could pounce.

Velvet waited a few more moments before she sprung out, splashing straight into the river. She made a show as though she were trying to catch fish, her actions very much exaggerated and water splashing all over her pelt. A few moments of messing around later and she stopped, panting, to look up at Remington with a goofy look. ”Harder than it seems, this catching fish stuff,” she told him, licking her lips.

She shook her pelt and trotted over to him, sobering a little but feeling much calmer after letting out the burst of energy. ”I told the pack that it might be best if we split into smaller groups until we reach the end of these woods,” she told him, ”Just to give everyone a chance to cool down and think things over.” She leant into him and rubbed her throat against him, sharing their scents, ”Although now that I think about it that may not have been the best idea. After all, now I’m alone and defenceless against a big alpha male.” She batted her eyes up at him, her obvious flirting another attempt to get him to relax a little after the confrontation with Kade.

Aatu|Male|5 years old|Fighter

Aatu padded through the forest. With all these wolves milling around he had been seperated from Luna, and now he was searching for the pup, sniffing the air. She had to be with a group to get to the forest edge, like he had heard Velvet saying. The pup couldn't go on her own, it was too dangerous. He yawned and rubbed against a tree. The bark flaked off, sticking in his fur. He scented Remington and Velvet nearby, but decided to leave them be, skirting the river to circle back round and drink later on. He crawled to the water's edge, bending his head to lap up water like a cat. When he had drank enough, he backed up, mud sticking to his haunches, and padded back into the trees.
The forest seemed to be thinning, and he sensed there wasn't much farther to go. The sun was setting, casting its' red light over the sky. Aatu realized suddenly that he was very alone and exposed out here, away from his pack. He raised his muzzle and howled, a low, short howl, just to let any nearby wolves know he was alone and needed company. When he had finished his howl, he peered through the gloom, just to see if any wolves were coming. He sat down, expecting to be picked up by a small group shortly so he could travel to the forest edge with them.

(Haven't done one for Raoula because I'm still waiting for Astral to reply)

Luna || Female || 1 year 3 months || Pup

Luna whimpered as she saw the dominance stand in front of her. Kade and Remington probably two of the strongest wolves she has ever seen. Luna kept her tail between her legs and her ears low as she sat away from them. She listened closely to what Kade said and the bickers around her from the other members of the pack. Luna was confused because it almost sounded like everyone would stand behind Kade more than they would Remington.... that can't be right. She whimpered as she layed down her muzzle between her paws. Then when Remington spoke she couldn't help but tear up a bit. Everyone seemed to think that Remington had it perfect and easy. Is everyone completely forgetting the part where he said he lost his parents, his sister? He has felt loss to.... and he had been all alone for most of his life? He just told us the basics not the specifics it was probably a million times harder than perfect life. ll of us at lest had a pack!! All Remington was saying is that we need to learn to treat each other the way we would want to be treated and not think your better than anyone.

It was obvious this was gonna be a bump in the journey. How could so many of these wolves just take what he said from deep inside and mold it into something else like that? She lifted her head as she watched Remington walk of and then Velvet. And then it seemed that everyone else started to leave as well. Luna was invisible to everyone but Velvet and Remington. Remington showed her so much kindness when they first met. Any other brute like himself probably would have killed her. She growled and stood. She was gonna be treated like a pup anymore and she wouldn't deal with crap with wolves that she didn't want to even be involved with. She flicked her tail and saw Aatu start to walk away. She snarled and then sulked off into the woods by herself. I will be a lone wolf, who cares, who needs a freaken pack!

As Luna walked deeper into the woods she had never seen before she couldn't help but start crying, tears rolling down her cheeks. She was just ready to be happy, all this was crap. As she saw a tree with a opening at the roots she crawled in and curled up. It was getting dark and if she wanted to live through the night this would be the best place. Luna lay there whimpering as she tried to fall asleep.

I kind of did this post differently then the ones in the past making novas point of view and her birds point of view seperate, the wolves have not been through a dangerous situation like this yet so I thought something like this would help prepare them for the wolf pack. Nova was busy hunting so I thought I would use Ro. Please tell me if you do not like it. Wolf pups are vulnerable when alone and there is not really a pup sitter right now watching Luna...

Nova | Female | 3 years | Female

Nova nodded her head in agreement with Raoula, pausing for a minute only to listen to Velvet's speech relieved to find that the alpha female was in basic agreement with Nova's own opinion...perhaps the female had knocked some sense into the bickering wolves. Feeling a little more hopeful than before Nova followed Raoula into the woods to hunt. "I'll go over to the right Raoula so we can both catch some prey to eat. Let's meet back up here with our prey than walk to the edge of the forest and wait for the rest of the pack." Nova said,splitting off from Raoula and heading right. " May you have a good hunt Raoula." Nova lifted her nose looking for the scent of prey.

Ro pecked at the bark of the tree, stupid bug with stupid legs. Why couldn't it stay put? Ro looked down at the group of wolves in the clearing stupid wolves too...all bickering in their strange language. Ro could only understand a few words and couldn't understand why they were fighting. Their big wolf was hungry and yet they did not hunt. Ro watched as the dark one who had raised him walked into the woods with another wolf, she was going to hunt maybe he should help her. Just about to take off Ro saw the little wolf pup walk into the woods alone. Bad, bad no nestling should stray from the nest or from the parents. Ro liked wolf pups, had played with Nova's pup...but not really Novas pup. Ro couldn't understand how Nova had once had a pup but it hadn't been hers...it had walked away from nest and bad things had happened. Ro didn't like thinking about it,couldn't let this pup walk away alone too. Ro easily followed the lightly colored pup to the tree where she curled up. Pup was making lots of noise...bad making lots of noise when one didn't have wings. Ro tilted his head looking at the pup...and caught sight of predator like wolf...coyote. Bad...danger, coyote ate young. Danger, call must call warn others of danger. Ro let out loud caws of warning...coyote was stalking pup!

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female

Kade's ears perked up. She nodded absently to Marcel, noticing that Luna seemed to be running away? "Umm . . . Give me a moment, I'm going to go see if she's okay," the beta said to both Twist and Marcel.

Tracking the pup's scent, Kade found the magpie that was Nova's, cawing away, and Luna, curled up between the roots of a tree. She had no idea why Ro was making such a racket, but assumed that something was wrong. Luna was sobbing but that was not her primary focus. Something smelled off - coyotes? As soon as the thought occurred to her, the beta knew. Coyotes were only dangerous to young pups. Luna wasn't small enough to be in too much danger, but still; she most likely had no idea how to fight one off.

The coyote slipped out of the undergrowth. There were two, was Kade's first thought. Then she attacked. Coyotes were nothing compared to a bear or even another wolf, so the she-wolf slammed into the side of the larger coyote, a male, and felt his ribcage collapse under her weight. Because of her large weight, and the force with which she slammed into him, Kade went rolling, but came to a stop with the coyote pinned under her. A swift bite to his throat and one was down. By then, the second had time to prepare herself, but the wolf turned, muzzle coated in blood, and snarled with as much aggression as she could muster, which was quite a lot. The other coyote turned and ran.

Then Kade cleaned off her muzzle and padded over to where Luna was. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice soft.

Rivers || Female || 3 years || Scout

Rivers sighed a little. "Yes, you did overreact slightly," she murmured. "I think we all did. Maybe Velvet is right and we should be so hard on Remington . . . I'm thinking that he should bend his pride, though, and ask Kade for advice on how to run a pack that listens to and respects him. From what I've heard, she was looked up to in her old pack, so I'm sure she could advise him." Gentle, she nuzzled Sollux's cheek.

"Let's get going. I'm sure we're almost there by now."

He nodded, and took a deep breath. "Your right. None of us have really known Remmington long, but hopefully he has an open mind and will listen to us." He smiled as Rivers nuzzle his cheek.

"Im sure we are. " He replied, and picked up his pace.

Addressed to Rivers

(Eww it's short kill me.)
