Only accepted characters may post here Sign up here! Hunting Thread You have left your forest home, left without your pack. The earthquake shook a massive hole in your life. Now, you search for the Valley of Hope and for a new pack to share your life with. Before each post you must put this: With Alpha's name's Pack Character name || Sex || Age || Rank This is to make sure there is no confusion. Occasionally I will post plot updates, with weather/prey/landscapes coming into play. You’ll see what I mean after I’ve done this a few times. Every update will have ‘Plot Update’ written before it. Please take your time with your responses, and allow at least couple of people to post their own replies before you post again, even if you’re only interacting with one person at the time. This makes sure replies are well thought out, nobody is controlling someone else’s character, and everyone has the chance to get involved in whatever happens before the RP moves on from that. Pack hunts will be arranged every so often by the alpha. I will set up a hunting thread that I will link here. Once the alpha has chosen the hunters you will RP that your character has left with the hunting party, and then switch to the hunting thread to RP the hunt. This is so that characters in the hunt and in the rest of the pack don’t get confused about who is where. I find it makes things much easier to follow this way. You may hunt small prey alone here, but group hunting must be done away from the pack, in the hunting thread. You will then RP your return here, and either bring the prey or lead the pack to the prey, all in this thread. Only hunting will take place in the hunting thread. My rule of at least four sentences per post is absolute. If you don’t follow this you will get a strike by your name. Three strikes and you will no longer be allowed to rp here. I may remove a strike if you post a lot of detail in your next few posts. Strikes Nobody :3 let’s keep it that way, yeah? The last thing to say is have fun everyone! Current Plot Update The wolf pack travelled across the soaked plains and have come to the base of the mountain. The rains have passed for now and the sun shines down. However, they must make the decision to either go around or over the mountains. They will soon encounter new wolves, but whether this be a good or bad encounter is up to their choice! Spring is still here and flowers will soon bloom. Character SheetsNo thread generated. The original poster of this RP thread will be able to generate one for this feature.0 players like this post! Stryker || Male || 4 years || Hunter || Shadow's Pack Stryker was chewing on a small rabbit he recently caught when he saw Lynx walking away with little Vulcan. Hopeless case, He thought, watching the vulnerable pup follow Lynx. The pup would grow up to be an omega, that much seemed obvious to Stryker. He pitied omegas, but appreciated them. They were a good punching bag for pups. He licked the bones of the small carcass then stood and walked towards the group. The talk of a fight with a nearby pack was exciting, a chance to show off. He didn't care whether or not the other pack was in the wrong, he wanted a fight. He layed down on the ground and watched the group converse, waiting for night. 0 players like this post! Like? |

With Shadow's Pack Vulcan || Male || 1 year || Pup The pup listened to Lynx, and followed her with his head lowered, licking his chops. His mouth felt dry, and the though of food made him want to vomit. He had trouble putting one paw in front of the other at this rate, and he whimpered internally. Why had Lynx suggested to Shadow that he should fight? Vulcan didn't understand. She wasn't mean like the Alpha, yet she wasn't loving either. She was just kind of... Indifferent. She was like that to everyone, Vulcan reminded himself. 0 players like this post! Like? |

With Shadow's Pack Ajax || Male || 4 years || Beta Male Ajax smirks, eyes locked with Ezrin's. "Of course, my Queen." He purrs, interlacing his tail with hers. He enjoyed the pretending as well, though thought of her as more of a little sister, really. Annoying, lovable, and he felt an overwhelming need to protect her. Though they were indeed excellent friends, and he enjoyed spending time with her. When the meeting ceased, he was oddly pleased to be in the same wave as his "mate". Not that he was attracted to her in "that" way, but he liked that he could help her if things went sour. "Now, what was it you wanted to talk about?" He asks, guiding her away from prying ears. As soon as he'd heard he words "I need to talk", he instantly came to the conclusion that she didn't want anyone else to hear what she had to say. If she had, then she simply would have said it already. (Didn't know what to do with Twist, so here's Ajax for now xD) 0 players like this post! Like? Ezrin || Female || 2 years || Beta Female (Shadow's Pack) Ezrin grinned as soon as they were away. "I'm getting bored of this pack," she whispered, a gleam in her eye that wasn't quite sane. "I plan to turn on my packmates during the attack, but of course, I wouldn't like to be fighting you, darlin'. And you owe me one for agreeing to pretend to be your mate, and you can even everything out by agreeing to leave with me." Her plans tended to be crazy; insanity was a family trait, but she did well at covering her more violent impulses. "If that's not enough to convince you to come, I happen to know that Kade's mate died recently. She may be torn up about it . . . But she's a survivor, and will probably be looking for a new mate soon, and I know just the guy for the job." 0 players like this post! Like? |

(This is what happens when I am very excited for something to happen and it bleeds into my post---my regular sized post becomes mega sized) Lynx | Female Fighter | 4 Years, 5 Months | Shadow’s Pack Reaching the small stream that started from between two boulders, Lynx lowered her head to drink the refreshingly cold water, less a sign of trust and more a doubt in the pups fighting abilities. Licking her chops the female raised her head and silently nodded her head toward the stream and indication that Vulcan should drink while she hunted. Normally she would have made the young wolf hunt for himself, she was not his nursemaid after all. This time though the fighter was going to hunt for them both as she did not want to risk losing a meal before the battle. Lynx was an average hunter and would have carried her weight as one if she had not sported the fighting ability she did, as a result she pulled her weight in pack hunts. Unlike around the clock hunters though the female did not have that instinctual connection with her prey, the ability to guess its direction or behavior from hunting and practicing on many of its brethren, in her hunts the female often had to expend more energy than a practiced hunter on chasing down her prey as she could not anticipate where it would move. Moving through the rocky sparsely grassed landscape, Lynx was hidden by the shadows watching the world around her, often stopping to scent the air and to listen for a sound. At a soft scitter the female froze standing completely still only the top of her head visible above a sizable rock. Her was patience soon rewarded her as a young female pheasant showed itself fluffing its feathers, obviously looking for a mate as it was that time of the year. This was one of the prey creatures that were the easiest for Lynx to hunt as every wolf knew a bird would leap for the sky at any sign of danger. Moving forward silently Lynx waited a beat before springing onto the rock and into the air, so silent was her movement that the bird did not realise it was being attacked until the fighter was almost on top of her, a more experienced bird would have run a few steps before flying having a small chance of escape, this bird though was young and gave into her instinct to jump into the air meeting the ironically named Lynx head on. Crushing the small bird’s head the fighter brought her prize back to Vulcan dropping it on the ground before turning to catch her own meal. What she found was a bigger challenge a thin male hare, more experienced in age it sensed danger and ran dodging the attack that would have had it killed if it had stood still. Hopping back and forth it ran for the safety of its hole, but age was against it now as it was not as fast as it used to be and the old male hare lost the race two safety by a hair's breathe. Meal firmly clamped in her jaws Lynx returned to Vulcan leaping onto a nearby boulder so as to better see her surroundings, it would be just like one of the many wolves in Shadow’s pack to use this time to ambush her in an effort to state dominance. Tearing a piece of meat off her hare the female's eyes wandered back to Vulcan studying him with an indecipherable blue gaze before switching her orbs to the sunset. She wanted to tell him to run and try his luck with whatever was left of this pack they were going to attack, she doubted that Ezrin’s stories were true, that a pack member would risk his or her own life to save another's, it was so alien to the ideals held within Shadow’s pack and everything Lynx had known that the story was like that of an old wives tale that mothers would tell their pups. Being in a new pack though would give Vulcan the chance to act dominant even if was only a fraction more it would make all the difference between omega and pup sitter as Vulcan did not seem to have the right character for hunter or fighter. Letting out a sigh Lynx kept her silence as her inability to start the conversation was lacking and her reasons for caring for Vulcan undefined to even her. Perhaps he would find the courage to speak and by extension help her take a step through the invisible barrier that always seemed to be present to Lynx when trying to express her thoughts to others. 0 players like this post! With Shadow's Pack Vulcan || Male || 1 year || Pup Lynx had stopped at a stream, and she motioned for him to drink as well. At that, the pup forced himself to lap up the water, tasteless on his tongue. It hardly calmed his nerves, and the pup didn't lose tension in his body. After a little bit, he finally sat down, licking his chops again. That was when Lynx came back with a kill. A pheasant at that, and she signaled for him to eat it. Vulcan forced himself to eat some, and he found himself almost choking on the food. He was still trying to force down the food when Lynx returned, and he looked up at the she-wolf, finally abandoning his half-eaten meal. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Stryker || Male || 4 years || Hunter || Shadow's Pack Mentions: Kaeva As Stryker observed the pack, he noticed a white wolf slipping into the shadows. Kaeva? Stryker cocked his head, curious. He stood up and decided to talk to her, he never usually talked to members of the pack. As he approached her, he lifted his head high, standing to his full height. "So where are you going?" He said teasingly. He figured she was going for a short walk, probably to get some rest before the fight. "Excited for the fight tonight?" He asked, nudging her side with his own. He was only being friendly because they were in a pack together. He didn't care for communication, but it's good to bond with your pack before a big event. Kaeva seemed... nervous. Which was normal before a fight. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 03/01/16 @ 08:43:20 by NightSky01 (#52637) |

Kova | Male Hunter | 4 Years | Shadow’s Pack Kova had lain down keeping his brain blank as to avoid any thought of the coming fight. As he was just lying there the hunter had the oddest sensation of being watched. He was able to ignore it for quite few minutes but eventually it got to him and he turned his head searching for it’s source. His eyes landed on Kaeva, he did not know the scout well only that she did not randomly attack others for little or no reason. She seemed to be debating something in her mind and it probably involved himself as she had been staring at him for quite a while. Rising to his feet Kova moved toward the silver female his brown and white coat moving over the muscles beneath yellow eyes locked on his target. Stryker got to the female first though and began asking her how excited she was for the fight...it disturbed Kova greatly that one could be so excited for the chance to kill another wolf. Kova stopped keeping his distance from the two wolves...if Kaeva needed him she would have to approach him. Lying down once again Kova watched the two wolves...perhaps Kaeva was excited like Stryker had said, perhaps she could not wait for the fight to start like so many others in the pack. 0 players like this post! Stryker || Male || 4 years || Hunter || Shadow's Pack Stryker could sense Kaeve didn't like the idea of attacking the other pack. Stryker sat and stared at the ground. They didn't do anything wrong, why would Shadow kill over this? He's just... a bad guy. Stryker was a fighter. He was aggressive. He never used to be. Losing his mate and unborn pups sparked something evil inside himself. He knew he couldn't get revenge on an earthquake, but if he took take it out on stranger wolves, he would. He would do anything to get the sickening feeling out of his chest. He looked up, about to say something to Kaeva, but she was walking away. He was about to follow after her, but she began talking to Kova. With a huff Stryker layed down and began watching the pack again. Kaeva seemed up to something... Stryker minded his own business. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lynx | Female Fighter | 4 Years, 5 Months | Shadow’s Pack Lynx finished her meal making sure to gnaw on one of the bones to better sharpen her teeth, the female was keenly aware of the pup, who had discarded his half eaten meal in favor of staring at her. Normally Lynx would have been unbothered by the action but situation made memories rise to the surface...the pup reminded her of her lost brother though the only thing the two had in common was a rather fluffy neck mane. Finally the females patience snapped and she looked up meeting the you male's gaze, the bone she had been gnawing on still safely trapped between her paws. There was a shred of impatience in her voice as she spoke, “You look like a wolf with with a question on his mind. Cougar caught your tongue? If you want to say something, say it instead of just sitting there staring at me like I’m a snake with wings.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kova | Male Hunter | 4 Years | Shadow’s Pack Kova’s eyebrows furrowed...had the scouts not already looked over the area? He was confused by Kaeva’s comment but it sounded better than sitting listening to all of the wolves talk about the fight. Besides it would serve as punishment for Kova, watching the wolves the pack so blindly spoke of killing. In the hunter's eyes he was about to commit a crime by aiding his pack in its senseless killings. He had seen one before when he had been young, only an adolescent, there had been so much blood and many yelps of pain…the worst by far though had been the cries of the pups killed. The memories still haunted the male and were perhaps the reason for his aversion to the act of fighting. “I will accompany you Kaeva.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kaeva || mentions: Stryker Kova, remmington, remmingtons mate Jist before she had walked off Kaeva had noticed a flash, a small expression she couldnt discern on Stryker. Whatever it was.. it gave her a sinking feeling in her chest. She didnt know him, but maybe he was in pain too. She let the thought pass and noticed Kova's brow furrow. Was he suspicious?, she thought with some slight nervousness. She nodded as he agreed to accompany her. "You have my thanks," she said with a dip of her head and proceeded to walk in the direction of the other wolves camp. When she was a considerable distance away she turned to Kova. "We'll need to get close... " she said quietly. She noticed two wolves relaxing, a male and a female, who Kaeva guessed were mates. The two wolves had been playing for awhile before relaxing. Then she looked at Kova, and whispered quietly, "Kova, do you really think this is right?" Rhe she wolf's eyes were looking at him searching for an answer. She looked down and her voice faltered, "...I dont." 0 players like this post! Like? |

With Shadow's Pack Vulcan || Male || 1 year || Pup Vulcan winced at her words, drawing his ears back. Instantly, his body language took on a more submissive tone. He slowly started to lower himself to the ground, and he was about to start speaking when he suddenly felt like he had enough. Even though he started shaking more when he straightened up, he made himself look taller. He stood on shaky legs, his ears still drawn back, but his tail no longer tucked. He stared right at Lynx with questioning eyes. "... Why... Why do I have to fight... Are you trying to get me killed???" His words wavered, and his head lowered slightly. "No matter what, I'm going to face some wolf. If I go out there, some wolf will get ahold of me. I'll be ripped to shreds. If I try and back down, Shadow will hunt me down. He will personally see to my punishment. So why, Lynx, please just... Tell me..." It was a start. His body language, contrary to his usual submissiveness, took on a slightly dominant standing, even if he was shaking. He was trying, he just wanted out of the fight, he just wanted to do what Shadow told him so he wouldn't get killed viciously... 0 players like this post! Like? |
