Twist, satisfied with his answer, nods slightly. Of course they would need a rhyme and reason to their attack. They couldn't simply rush in and snap their jaws at every deer they could see. Many of them would be severely injured if that was the case, and likely killed. She expected him to watch their behaviors, as an alpha should to make sure he was placing everyone in a rank they were strongest with.

She stops rather abruptly as the pack comes upon two other wolves, who had presumably already joined. She regains her composure slightly, turning to the female. "Hello. It's lovely to meet you." She woofs kindly, offering a small smile. She turns to Azazel, hackles raising slightly. "Hello again, Azazel. It appears you crop up quite a bit." She says tersely, clear eye flaring.

(This is horrible XD I'm sorry. I stayed up until 5 AM and only got three hours of sleep.)

Velvet tilted her head, a sorrowful expression overcoming her face for a few moments. Twist spoke of her pack as treating her horribly, of being glad they’d died in the earthquake. The femme couldn’t imagine that; that wasn’t a pack. A pack was one, individuals coming together to work for the good of each other. Every wolf pulled their weight, and every wolf was looked after. That was just how it was supposed to work. Her heart broke for Twist, ”You’ve obviously never experienced how being in a pack should truly work. I hope you join us, so you can see what the life of wolves together should really be.”

Looking Twist over, Velvet couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to her. No tail, scars covering her body, and a disfigurement. The other was the opposite in looks to the beautiful, unmarked femme. Velvet avoided fighting, and rarely took lead as a hunter to avoid messing up her gorgeous pelt. She prided herself on her looks. They’d attracted many a male, giving her her confidence. Looking like Twist, she knew she’d never approach other wolves and would end up alone. Having a pack that belittled her would make things much worse.

Remington appeared shortly after Elihu, followed by the rest of the pack. Velvet perked up, tail rising high and wagging as she saw the male. He didn’t look her way, instead greeting Twist immediately, and she decided not to interrupt until he’d finished speaking. She was taken aback when Luna appeared, directing a growl at her. Cocking her head to the side, she trotted over to the young adolescent. ”Luna, have I done something to offend you?” she asked softly, ears back, looking at the pup with a caring expression. Her fondness and love for pups was obvious to anyone looking, and she couldn’t bare the thought of hurting one without meaning to. With Luna as the only pup in the pack right now, she especially didn’t want her to be mad with her.

Velvet overheard Elihu speak of the scent of deer and took a moment after speaking with Luna to scent the air herself. He was right; their prey was close. As Raoula caught up to the pack, the femme turned to Remington to wait to hear his hunting strategy. She stepped up to he and Elihu, grinning. ”Elihu, why don’t you hunt alongside Twist and…get to know her,” she told him suggestively, also noticing how he looked at the new female.

She drew up alongside Remington, brushing her whole side against him and flicking her tail over his rump. ”If you don’t mind, I’d like to be part of the team that scares the prey towards the hunters.” She stepped one front paw across, in front of him, drawing her shoulder close to his neck, displaying her long limb. ”Speed and agility are a strength for me, but muscle power not so much. It’s your choice though…alpha.” She licked his ear as she said the last word playfully, then skipped a few steps away, waiting to see how he’d react to her actions. Although calling him an alpha had been meant as part of her flirting, she realised how it must be true. The pack were all looking to him, following his word, and though nobody had formally said it, Remington had assumed the role of alpha as though made for it.

Raoula started as she saw Azazel. Her ears went back in shock. A growl started in her throat, but died quickly. Confused, she began to slowly back away from him, turning her attention to Remington and his strategy. She turned to Luna, having heard her growl at Velvet, and wondered why she had growled. At last, not having much to do, she sat back on her haunches and watched the group, listening to the others speak. She would put in her own opinion if she had an idea.
Velvet said that she would like to be a part of the team that would scare the prey towards the hunters. Raoula realised she might be good for that role as well, seeing as she was agile and could run fast. Of course, that all depended on whether Remington had a more intricate plan. Remington seemed to be simply assuming dominance over them, and she found that she didn't mind that. He would be a good alpha for them, if they really were a pack. After all, she hadn;t known them for very long.
Stretching, she made sure she was ready for the hunt. The smell of deer was getting more and more enticing. They could attack any time now, and she had to be ready.

Zilla was hunting some rabbits when she caught the smell of some wolves. Her eyes shot up and the fur on her neck stood up. Fear and curiosity filled her. She started walking in the direction of the scent hoping that maybe the wolves were friendly. The scent grew stronger and her feet became heavier with fear. 'This is a mistake,' the wolf thought.

Elihu | Male | 3 years old | Unranked | With the hunting party, preparing to hunt

Elihu flattened his ears as Remington teased him. He lowered his head and stared ahead into the brush as the pack followed the trail of Azazel and Kade before turning his head to Remington. "I am not interested in that female." He murmured to Remington in a hushed tone. "She is striking, but not nearly as tempting as some other she-wolves I've seen." He continued, as he looked over at Velvet. He caught the pretty she-wolf looking at Remington and leaned over conspiratorially to speak in the male's ear. "I think you've got a good chance with Velvet by the way... I would definitely take her up on her... offers." He grinned and then watched as the she-wolf creeped up along Remington's side.

He flattened his ears again as Velvet tried to get him to hunt alongside Twist. Why does everyone want me to talk with her? He thought annoyed. Just because he was quiet did not mean that he didn't know how to flirt with a female. He looked up as he spoke to Velvet and narrowed his eyes slightly. "I have more muscle mass than Twist. I am much better at tackling prey and bringing it down than chasing it. Even though I have long legs. She would do much better hunting with you or another smaller wolf, who would be more agile. That way you two could nip at it's heels and tire it out before a larger wolf, such as Remington or myself, tackled it and brought it down. " At this point the group met up with Azazel and Kade. Elihu still felt uneasy around the male. He really didn't like that male's eyes. He didn't seem to blink and that made Elihu uncomfortable. He noticed that Kade seemed rather tense and wondered if the two had had some sort of argument. There was definitely tension in the air. Perhaps it was just the hunt. He perked up his ears and glanced over at Twist as she addressed Azazel. They know each other? I wonder how... He thought to himself. He stared at the two for a moment, and then turned back to Remington.

"As I said before, I believe that I would be better at bringing down the prey than chasing it. I have long legs, which will help me make the leap for the deer's back or throat, and I would be heavy enough to pull it down. It is your decision though." He said as he nodded in agreement with Velvet's address. He smiled at his friend as he waited for Remington's decision. He wasn't so jealous of Remington anymore.. he thought Remington would be a good fit for Velvet.

Kade snarled at Azazel one more time in absolute disgust as he didn't answer her, then composed herself. "Hello," she said. "I am Kade, and it appears that you know this one already." To try and make the other female more comfortable, as she seemed uneasy (more so than the rest of them) around Azazel, she shifted so that she was in between them.

"Alright. We're hunting? We have enough wolves that it would be best to have two teams driving the deer towards a third team that will take it down, but with the amount of wolves we have to feed, it may be better to arrange two different hunting groups that will take one deer apiece," she said, her mind reverting to the alpha mode in which she had always organized hunts. "I assume that it will be stronger wolves that kill and faster wolves that drive, so Remington, of course you may disagree, but I think that you and Elihu should lead the attacking groups and I and Velvet should lead the driving ones."

Her heart started racing at the prospect of a hunt, even faster than it had been beating in her anger with Azazel.

Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though)

Remington chuckled as Elihu replied back to him, he found it amusing but wanted to make sure not to upset and offend what would seem to be his best friend. " Just teasing Elihu its alright." He looked at him as he started mentioning Velvet and how they would be a good fit. Remington looked at the ground and up at Velvet hoping she wouldn't notice. "I do feel feel I need to get a mate soon, but nervous and want to do it on our own and not bothered, I don't know. My father had always said carry on the name and keep you mate safe like you would your food." Remington cackled shaking his head and looked back at Elihu, "My dad was something different!."

Remington was ready to say something to the pack while walking until he felt Velvet rub up against him and come up beside him. He looked over at her as he yawned and looked back straight ahead. As Velvet stuck her paw in front of him getting quite close he pulled his head back with his head high as he sneezed at her smell. He was fond of Velvet, but he wasn't sure why. Remington though she was good on the eyes and smelled great, but that wasn't it. He felt as if something else was drawing and attracted him towards her. He knew he could flirt, but wasn't sure how far he really wanted to go. As he noticed her skip a few steps ahead and licked his muzzle and jogged up a bit after her and nipped at her tail and deeply growled hoping the sound he made got her interest.

Remington then stopped his flirting, and playfulness and stopped and turned to the pack. "This is our first hunt all together, some of us will have weaknesses and some of us have strong points its common so no worries! I am used to always hunting alone I will not lie, but with a pack it should be much easier. Listening to some of your comments and ideas I have decided for our first hunt I will go with all of your suggestions. I will not tell any of you where to go I would like for you to go where you think you are best suited for, the positions are the ones who will scare the deer toward the ones who will attack one or two deer, and then the others we will need to help make sure the deer stay on track toward the ones who will be attacking. I want to ask all of you whether you would like me to join this hunt or not, it is up to you. I am not worried you will loose any deer for this part of the forest is flourished and if you need my help I will step in, but I would like to see you all in action and how well you can hunt, especially without me. So if you have decided what role you would like in this hunt and your opinion on if I should hunt or not please speak up." Remington stood tall and proud of the wolves before him thrilled and excited to see these strangers in action.

He looked to Elihu, then Luna, to Kade and Azazel, and then Raoula and Twist waiting for there answers. As he looked to Velvet he though about what Elihu said and gazed at Velvet for some time, and flicked his ear at her.

Raoula nodded in support of the plan. "Sounds like a good plan to me. I think if none of you mind, I'll help drive the deer towards the attackers. I'm not strong enough to help bring one down." She turned her attention to the others in the group, awaiting their opinion. She noticed as well that Kade had snarled at Azazel; had they had an argument? She found her gaze lingering on him for a second before she looked away. They had a hunt to concentrate on.

Luna sat down and looked at Velvet with her ears back. As Velvet finished talking Luna lifted her nose high in the air and looked away from Velvet, but then felt badly for it. Luna looked back at Velvet and whimpered, "I am sorry Velvet I am just jealous and feel alone. I am the only pup in the midst of all you stronger, older wolves! I was just upset because Remington had trotted off after you when you went ahead of the group, I realized though I didn't smell him on you so you must not have seen him or something. He left for a bit to see you he said, and after a bit he came back to the group. You knew that right? I was just upset because I like Remington a lot and really want him for myself not to share with anyone else. I am sorry." Luna thought about what she had sad and wondered if she knew that Remington had gone after her, so if she hadn't seen him then, he must have been watching her or something, she wanted to find out.

Luna stood up and walked in front of Remington, "I will stay by you so I don't mess anything up, I have never really hunted before so I will just watch and learn I guess." Luna looked at Velvet to see if she thought about what Luna had just said, it seemed that she hadn't known, but how could she be sure.

Velvet paused, surprised at Elihu’s outburst to the playful teasing. ”My apologies, Elihu, I didn’t mean to offend you.” She wagged her tail in an attempt to appease him, it rhythmically thumping against Remington’s flank due to how close she stood to him. She stood skipped playfully away from the alpha, expecting him to address the pack. She paused in shock when he trotted after her, nipping her tail. She looked back over her shoulder, cocking her head. Unless she was mistaken, he was flirting back. She let out a low whine in response to his growl and butted under his chin with her head, before carrying on forwards at a gentle pace.

The silver femme pulled up beside Luna and listened to the youngster attentively. Her ears fell and tail dropped a little at the pup’s words. ”I’m really sorry you feel that way, Luna,” she spoke honestly, ”You may be a pup but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. I’d like to spend some more time with you after the hunt, if you’ll allow it. I’ve always loved being around pups; I was actually a pup sitter in my…before this pack. If you want we could spend some time playing or I could teach you some things about tracking.”

Velvet frowned as Luna got to the root of the problem, that she was jealous of the adult spending time with Remington. There was nothing she could do about that. Remington was the closest thing to an ideal mate she’d met, and despite not wanting the pup to be unhappy she wasn’t going to give up any chance to spend time with him. She looked shocked as Luna went on to say that Remington had left to follow her for she hadn’t seen or smelt him around. ”I’m sorry that you’re feeling jealous, but I’m afraid I can’t do much about that except remind you that you can still spend time with Remington no matter how I or he may feel about each other. Besides, I’m sure a male your age will come along at some point and you’ll develop something towards him,” she nudged the other, raising an eyebrow, ”and no, I didn’t realise he had followed me. Do you know why?”

The pack’s attention turned to said male as he addressed them with the plan for the hunt. Velvet noticed at that moment that the group had caught up with Kade and Azazel, who both looked ruffled. She wondered what had angered them but didn’t have time to think it over as she listened to the hunting plan. She stepped forward when he finished, deciding that if they were beginning to organise themselves then she should take charge of a group of them. ”Although I don’t have much hunting experience, the experience I do have is with a large pack so I’m used to coordination. I will be scaring the deer towards the other group, so anyone who is more fast and agile than strong and aggressive should follow me.”

She chose to wait a few moments for the other wolves to make their choice, glancing over at Remington as she did so. She noticed his gaze already on her and dipped her head slightly in response to his ear flick, wagging her tail twice. ”Okay then,” she addressed those who had chosen to come with her, ”When the others give the signal that they’re ready we’ll drive the deer towards them. Until then we need to stay quiet and move slowly. It’s up to the others to pick the best deer to go after, since they’re the main strength for this hunt, so wait until they’ve chosen which prey to attack before joining in on the actual attack.” She glanced over at Remington again, ”We’ll position ourselves where we need to be and wait for your signal. Good luck and good hunting!”

Velvet trotted ahead of the group, leading those in her team around the clearing she could smell the deer herd in. Positioning herself in some thick shrubbery, she pawed at the ground in anticipation, keen eyes latching onto the herd. She looked back to the others, hoping they were also crouched and ready for the hunt, then turned to wait for the signal from the other team.

Elihu lowered his head as Remington and Velvet spoke, but flicked his ears forward. "It's fine, you guys. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so tense. I just prefer keeping my... relationship interests.. private. I am not very good with relationships in the first place, so if I do want to...get to know someone... It will be in a rather subtle way. I just don't like the gossip that seems to follow courtships." Elihu paused as he tried to talk about his emotions with the two. He hadn't known them for very long but he wanted to be friends with them, and friendship required trust. If you wanted friends, you had to be trusting. He looked off into the grassy fields and took a deep breath before speaking again quietly. "If I need any advice on the subject, I'll be sure to go to either of you first. I appreciate you trying to...pair me with Twist. However, I'm not sure if she's really my type." He concluded half-heartedly.

The truth was, he was very intrigued by Twist, but he wasn't going to admit it. He casually looked over at the small she-wolf and felt a shock of lightning race through his skin as he met her eyes again. He looked down at the ground. What was he thinking?! Now, was not the time to be intrigued by a she-wolf. Besides, she was a bit below his station. He was a large, strong, descendant of the dire wolves. In a few years time he could be an alpha with a beautiful alpha female at his side. He didn't need... or want... an omega. But how could he ignore the feelings she created within him? Elihu pawed at the ground silently as he tried to ignore his emotions. Perhaps it would be best just to be quiet and courteous around her. Be friendly, but not flirtatious. Flirtatious! He didn't even know how to act flirtatious. He would be chivalrous and that was all.

Elihu decidedly turned and walked up alongside Remington as the alpha announced his hunting plan. It was a bit unconventional, but it could work. "I'll be part of the attacking group. I guess we are trying to bring down one deer? Azazel, Kade, and I could be part of the attacking group if Raoula and Velvet want to drive the deer to us. " Elihu said softly as he watched the wolves around him.

Kade was still incredibly riled up from the argument of a few moments ago and was itching to take something, anything, down. "Yes, I'll attack as well," she agreed, moving away from Azazel to place herself firmly by Elihu's side. Her anger was almost visible, it radiated from her so strongly. The she-wolf loved to hunt and hunting was one of her favorite outlets; after a stressful morning or an argument with a packmate, she'd often go after something, anything she could attack and kill without reservation.

Kade's teeth were barred, her lips carved into a frozen snarl. "If I had someone to drive for me, I could probably take a deer alone," she pointed out, rather hoping that someone would take the hint: she wanted to make a kill herself, not just assist someone else with his. "And I think that two would be better. One might not be big enough for all of us, and I'm hoping that the smell of the kill with attract any remaining survivors."

Roula dipped her head in agreement to Elihu's words. "I'll go with Velvet." she then turned to the other wolves one more time before following Velvet into the undergrowth. As Velvet positioned herself to chase a deer towards the others, Raoula settled behind her, making sure her weight was perfectly balanced and her muscles tense to pounce. She could glimpse the deer herd only slightly, as undergrowth and Velvet were in the way, but she didn't need to see them when she could smell them. She felt a small growl beginning in her throat and swiftly suppressed it, not wanting the prey to hear and be alerted to their presence. She wondered which deer the attacking party would choose. Whichever deer it was, she would be ready to chase it.

Luna || Female || 1 year || Pup

Luna pouted as Velvet spoke to her, and lifted her head looking at her as she mentioned she wanted to maybe spend some time with Luna. Luna sat there for a bit and thought about it. Maybe it was time to get over Remington I mean he was a bit older, and way above her status. Luna thought to herself;I am gonna try one last time, I will show Remington I am just as good s Velvet! She then spoke to Velvet, "I guess spending some time together won't do much harm. I would like to be able to talk to another female about things and ask questions, and most importantly learn." Luna wagged her tail along the ground side the side not only happy, but because she was pleased by her devious plan she had going on in her mind.

She continued sitting there as she watched Velvet and Raoula trot off and hide in the bushes, and then looked to Kade as she stood ready for her position to attack. She stood shaking out her fur and walked over to Remington rubbing up along him trying her best to cover him with her scent, but sadly her scent was not strong enough, she was still a pup and had not yet established her own smell. She sighed then licked at his cheek. "And I suppose I am staying with you Alpha? I am gonna watch and learn?" Luna would give credit to Velvet for trying and making an attempt to make things right, but Luna's hormones were changing at her age that she didn't realize she could start something between herself and Velvet. Following Remington to the opposite side of the oping she saw several doe and fawn grazing no idea of anything coming. Luna licked her chops and lowly growled. Her plan made her feel powerful as she set her eyes on Velvet across from them in the bushes and crouched down watching her and the deer waiting for Alpha to give the signal to the chasers.

Kade || Female || 5 years || Undecided

Kade scanned the group of deer. A few were standing and grazing, three or four were lying in the grass. A pair of fawns played. One of the does looked like she was walking strangely, and the she-wolf gestured at the limping doe with her snout. "Rem, I think we should go for that one," she whispered, hackles raised and stance ready to leap from the undergrowth and attack. Her muscles were tense and her entire body was on alert.

To Luna, she whispered, "Luna, I think you should just sit this one out. This is out first time hunting together and there may be a bit of confusion. I'd feel terrible if you got hurt. Maybe next time?" Something about the way the pup's gaze seemed to be darting between Velvet's group and the deer seemed strange to her and she didn't want Luna to be distracted, trying to impress Remington, when they needed to be concentrating.
