"Everything has changed and nothing will ever bring it back to how it once was. You must change with it or die trying."Frightful screams sound out from the streets as a blaring siren emits into the air, people and families running in several different directions as some point skyward with fearful expressions. Following their directions, your gaze lands on the shape of a foreign missile hurtling towards your town like a bullet, the terrorized screams only being drowned out as it nears. Diving into a near by ditch, you quickly cover your ears as the missile hits the ground, the blast making dirt and gravel spray in every direction, demolishing most of the once lively town. Barely surviving the impact with your life, you try to get through the crumbling and destroyed wasteland that was once beautiful, but as the ever small food supply gets depleted, the temptation to join one of the many gangs that roamed the land even before the blast gets stronger. ```````````````````````````````````````````````````` 0 players like this post! Harpi Harpi stood on top of a worn building. Just a few days ago, this building used to be a popular shopping mall. But now? Less than half of it was standing. Her large wings flittered in the wind as she gazed upon the wrecked town. Ever since the bomb hit, nothing has been the same. Harpi has been searching for her family, but Harpi gave up after seeing wing bones in her home. How lucky had she been that she had been flying when the bomb hit? Harpi had been pondering that question. She sighed, hanging her head slightly. Then, spreading her wings, Harpi jumped off the building. She glided over the city, scanning for anything that she could salvage. Harpi was currently in the East Side Raiders. She lived in an abandoned warehouse with some other ESR (East Side Raiders) members. Harpi cared for the other members, and could try to spare as much as her supplies as she could without starving herself or anything. A sudden glint caught her eye. Stopping mid-air, Harpi swooped down to investigate. There was something glinting off the sunlight beneath some wreckage. Moving aside some debris, Harpi found a pretty bracelet. "Who in the world would leave this behind? So pretty!" She put it on her wrist. It looked good. But she put it back on the ground, and flew into the air. Harpi decided to begin scavenging for food. Food was what made this would go 'round apparently. There were fights over it, and anthros were killed for it. Harpi arrived at a grocery store. There was a hole in the roof, and she just flew right in. Almost every crumb of food was gone, and she'd be lucky if she found anything. Harpi landed and walked around. A loaf of bread! Harpi ran at it and grabbed it. Looking around to make sure no other anthros were watching, and made a bee-line for the warehouse, eager to show off the loaf. A loaf of bread wouldn't have sold for much just days ago, but now anthros would kill for it. Funny what food could do. Chase The lynx warily walked around the streets. Chase was almost shaking with fear. Why did he have to go and get supplies? Couldn't they send someone more capable and well..brave? A creak made Chase jump two feet in the air and let out a startled screech. "Oh.." He muttered, "It's just a can..or a board. A board would be good too.." Chase said, trying to calm himself down. "Ohhh..." He cried. He was such a coward... Chase then smelled the scent of meat. "Finally!" He dashed towards the smell, and found an abandoned butcher shop. Several rats and flies were already swarming the shop. Chase groaned "Oh come on! Why can't it be butterflies or puppy dogs or something?!" Chase didn't like rats. Chase stood in the doorway. A large rat stood between him and a piece of meat hanging on the wall. Chase slowly walked in. He stared at the rat. It was huge! He slowly walked around the rat, both the animals staring at each other. Chase was now around the rat. Lunging, Chase yanked the meat off the wall and made a break for the exit. A rat scampered across his path and he squealed in surprise. He leaped over it, and ran towards the exit as fast as he could. He ran out of the butcher shop and examined his prize. It was about 7 oz of uncooked meat. Good enough. Chase slinked back to the West Side Warriors base camp, clutching the meat tightly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jack McNamara | Loner | Crazy Max’s Trading Center The sound of a metal handgun skittering across a table was lost in the plethora of noise in the trading center. What was once a subway station filled with impatient men and women waiting to get to their destination was now a central hub of survival to many. There were multiple merchants and traders peddling their wares to customers and passersby, but Jack wasn’t here to swap for a pretty knick-knack. She was here to settle a score. The wolf hybrid stood on one side of the table, arms crossed over her flattened chest and emerald eyes narrowed angrily. They bore holes into the forehead of another canine standing on the other side of the table – a boxer with a few lengths of white gauze covering his right eye. His eyebrows were raised in a look that suggested he was very surprised to see her back at his stand. “It broke.” she growled. “What?” the boxer’s brow furrowed immediately, “I just sold it to you last week.” “I know. That’s why I’m here.” her voice darkened, “You sold me a piece of shit handgun and now… Well. Now we have a problem.” The boxer waved her off, “Yeah. The problem is that you broke something and are trying to pass it off as my fault.” A smirk stretched across Jack’s muzzle at that, “Mark, Mark… I’ve gotta say, I’m disappointed. We were friends! You used to fence for me back when I was running with the Raiders.” “Friends don’t accuse each other of shit.” Mark spat, ears lying flat against his head. “And you’re not a Raider anymore.” “Not baselessly, no, but I wouldn’t come to you otherwise. I’m not trying to scam you, Mark. It’s dangerous as fuck out there. All I want from you is a replacement – preferably one that works.” The boxer seemed hesitant at this demand. He averted his gaze to the side and then up toward the ceiling with a slight frown. After a few moments he let out a long breath and placed a paw up to rub the side of his temple. He opened his mouth to speak, but the wolf-mix cut him off before he could speak. “… Or, you know, I could just let it slip that you’re still selling diesel.” Mark’s jaw dropped open and his eyes widened in shock, “W-what?!” his voice dropped to a whisper, “How did you know that?” “Oh, I didn’t.” Jack said with a chuckle, “I just know that you would’ve had that shit locked up tight in a place that nothing could ever reach. Say, under the tr-“ “Alright, alright!” the boxer held his hands up in surrender, “Fine. I’ll give you the handgun. No charge.” “And some ammo.” Mark’s brow furrowed again, but he echoed her, “And some ammo-“ The darker pelted canine, curious as to how far she could push this trader on the other side of the table, reached down and took two short-swords off her belt. She placed them in front of him with a wicked grin. “And I need my blades sharpened.” He let out a growl, trying his best to contain himself, “And you’ll keep your muzzle shut about the horse?” “What horse?” Jack, still grinning, extended a hand across the table. Mark tentatively reached out and shook it before swiping her blades from the table and disappearing to go sharpen them. Within a few minutes he returned, wares in hand, giving them to the black wolf-mix with a dissatisfied grunt. She left with a delighted grin on her face and a new weapon hanging from her belt. Despite it being broken, she had elected to keep the first gun. It could come in very handy later. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dapper l Male l African Wild Dog l No one He had been moving from broken building to broken building, his spear raised just in case he came across someone. He wasn't going to take any chances, and would decapitate anyone that came to close to him. He was careful only to stay on the West side of the city, not wanting to bother the east side. He continued traveling until he made it to the subway station, swishing his tail and entering it, walking into the trading center. He flattened his ears in light fear as he heard voices, fastening his grip on his spear. His only objective was to trick some sorry tradesmen. He walked to a table, dropping his spear and taking out his gold earrings, setting them down. "I want my spear sharpened, a knife, and some flint and steel." He grumbled. The tradesmen left, coming back with what he asked, his spear so sharp he could barely touch it. What he was about to do would send people after him, but he was prepared for escape. He grabbed his gold earrings, handing them over to the tradesmen. Right before he dropped it into the man's palm, Dapper swung his spear right into the man's chest, killing him in seconds. He grabbed some food and other items before taking off, a few men behind him. He dropped the goods, turning around and stabbing another one of the men, taking him by surprise. The other one was behind him, warned of what would happen. Dapper fought with him until the tradesmen fled back. Dapper grabbed his stuff and ran, running into his current shelter. He gathered some dry leaves, twigs, and a dry log he had scrounged up, using the flint and steel to create a fire and curling up in a woolen blanket and slowly falling asleep. Ashley l Female l Wolf l No one She had already stocked up on all the supplies she needed, snacking on some wheat bread. She chewed slowly, legs crossed and sitting in a empty, cement room. She sighed, a pain of loneliness aching in her chest. (Lol don't know what to say x3) Sal l Male l Maned Wolf l Jack McNamara He had been walking to the trading center when he saw a dog killing a man and severely injuring another. Sall flickered his audits backwards, coming back out once the male left, continuously looking around at the dead town. A few others slipped away from his view, often times spotting people running to different buildings. He held his gun in his hand tightly, picking up some goods on the way. He arrived at the trading center, placing a gold ring, a blade, and a fur pelt. In return, he gained ammo, a pocket knife, and some food. He spoke nothing, only gesturing with his hand at what he wanted. As he was leaving, he spotted someone in front of him. He placed his hand on the girl, trying to get his attention. He still spoke nothing, gesturing to her gun and to his. He wanted to try her's out. He muttered "Try?", but it came out more like "truh." He sniffled, rolling his shoulder blades under his torn shirt. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jack McNamara | Loner | Crazy Max’s Trading Center | Sal Jack stiffened at the contact and whipped around, knocking the maned wolf’s hand off her and drawing a blade in one fluid movement. Her eyes were narrowed and her ears were flat against her head. A low growl rumbled from her throat. She made no other aggressive movements, staring down the male with her fangs bared. He didn’t seem to be threatening her at all – no malice in his stance or expression. Hm. It took a few moments, but eventually she let herself relax a bit and sheathed her weapon once again. “Geez, kid. I almost cut your damn arm off.” she grumbled, “Word to the wise, don’t go grabbing people you don’t know. You’ll live longer.” She noticed his movements shortly afterward and paused for a moment before speaking again, “Do you have the ammo for it? I can’t just go wasting my supplies.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Eva/ Female/ Spotted Rabbit/ East Side of Shallow Creek City Leather boots crunched heavily on the torn sidewalk path as a hooded figure cautiously walked in the shadows of the crumbling buildings that surrounded her. The occasional sound of falling stone or the scurry of a rat echoing through the streets, Eva clutched at the small pocket underneath her hoodie every few minutes, making sure the knife she kept in there was with her always. Never having the heart to actually shoot someone, the former student opens up the small leather bound notebook in her right hand, a map of the once vibrant town held within it's spine. "Might as well see if the hardware stores aren't completely destroyed, hopefully there will be something useful to the warehouse in there." Looking up at the cloudy grey sky with wide brown eyes, the anthro hurries down the street with a destination set in mind. ((Sorry it's so short, I didn't have enough time to really type stuff out.)) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Sal l l Male l l Maned wolf l l Jack He shrugged, his face plain and dirty. He nodded, taking out some ammo and showing her.He had plenty more of that back at his hide out, and it wouldn't be a loss if he used some for fun. He slowly reached in and grabbed her gun, facing it at a dented street sign. He counted how many shots he used, not stopping until the sign fell. He smiled, which was rare, and laughed. He liked the gun. Looking at the brand, he memorized it and handed the handgun back, giving her enough ammo to cover how much he'd used. He outstretched his rather dirty hand, dipping his head lightly. "Sal." he murmured, voice raspy and sounding like an older, dying elder. That was usually the only sound he could make. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Harpi Harpi wandered through the streets. Having dropped off her findings at her 'Base Camp' back at ESR camp, an abandoned warehouse, she was wandering for anything to bring to the Crazy Max's Trading Center. Anything good could land you food or weapons. {Either one would be good..} Harpi thought, her wings folded into her back. A suddenly glint in the light made her turn her feathered head. After digging through some rubble, the anthro found the silver bracelet she had encountered earlier on her search for food. She picked it up and began to head towards the underground trading center. Eventually the Eagle Anthro found the entrance to the trading center. Harpi has never been to the Trading center much, usually relying on scavenging. Harpi found a booth with what looked like a coyote anthro or something. "Hey, mutt, what would you give for this bracelet?" She tossed the bracelet onto his stand. The coyote looked at it, then at her, "Well, sweetie, considering I am a male and I am not into bracelets, I would be surprised at myself if I gave you a jar of peanut butter for this." He said, a dull look in his eyes. Harpi snorted, and grabbed the bracelet, looking for someone who would actually be interested in it. She then found a Poodle anthro. {Score!} She thought as she walked towards the poodles stand. The poodle looked up, and her eyes went straight to Harpi's bracelet. "Hello, there!" The poodle said, her floppy ears hanging by her neck. The poodle must've been a fashion model, because she had beautiful white fur, trimmed to fit whatever the latest fashion had been before the bomb hit. Harpi then gently placed the bracelet on the stand, "Hey, what would you give for this?" Harpi asked, her wings slightly open. The poodle picked it up and held it to the light, examining literally every inch of the thing. Harpi sighed mentally. {Oh my god, it's just a bracelet!} She thought as the poodle starting studying it closely. After what seemed like forever, the poodle smiled at her, "Well, this silver isn't real, but I would give about 5 loaves of bread for this, and I might add a carton of some orange juice if it has charms with it." The poodle said, pointing her sharp muzzle at Harpi. "Do you have any weapons, or ammunition?" The eagle asked, flapping her wings once. "Erm.." The poodle looked in a few crates, "Well, I don't have any guns or firearms.." She said, digging into a crate. {Why am I not leaving now? Firearms are the, like, the only weapon you can use in these times,} Harpi groaned inwardly. The poodle then emerged from the crate with a machete. Harpi's eyes widened. What was this fashion model doing with a machete?! The poodle handed her the Machete, as well as a bag full of bread. Harpi grabbed the Machete in one hand and the bag in another. The poodle got the bracelet and put it on, admiring herself. {Oh. My. God. That took forever. Well, I have a Machete. What will that do against a gun? Nothing. But I can probably go hunting with this thing. Harpi thought, before flying out of the trading center. 0 players like this post! Like? |
