Story of the Lone Bird Pack

It's been too long since there has been a good memory of the humans. They all left the facilities a long time ago, driven by a virus into opening the facility to let the wolves roam.

Of course, it was nowhere near expected that the experimentation made a few of them... Special. And Hawk is one of those wolves. Abuse at a young age made her sadistic and terrifying, without a care for anyone's feelings. She rules the Lone Bird Pack with an iron paw.

The most famous of her strict rules is the rank separation. Omegas are to be treated as criminals, and their pups must be taken away to be raised by Thetas. The Thetas must care for all the non-alpha pups. Betas must assist Alphas and protect camp. Zetas must hunt. And the other Alpha must only help to make decisions and care for any Alpha pups.

None of this would be so bad, if stepping out of line wasn't punishable by death.

Yet there is hope. An unknown wolf going by Bright is supposedly planning an uprising. But who is this Bright, and is he or she real? And will this revolutionary truly show?


RULES

-Follow Lioden rules.
- Some violence is allowed considering the plot, but let's try and keep things pg-13 otherwise.
- Fade to black when mating/birthing.
- No powerplaying/godmodding.
- Crushes/romance are obviously allowed, but if you want your character to have a pre-established relationship with another character make sure you ask first. Your character does not have to be straight. This is a LGBT+ friendly thread.
- Please do not sign-up for this roleplay if you don't think you can be active. Replying once a day at the very least would be ideal.
- I would prefer there weren't any wolfdogs or coyote hybrids,
- If you use a picture instead of writing a description (as I did because I'm lazy) please make sure to source the photo. I will not accept applications that have unsourced photos.
- Looking for semi-literate roleplayers. Make sure you can commit to writing at least one paragraph. The occasional writer's block is of course understandable.
- You can have as many characters as you want so long as you can handle them.
- So I know you've been paying attention write PACK somewhere in your application.

Wolf Pack Ranks

-Alpha (2)
Hawk is Alpha of the Lone Bird Pack. She rules alone currently, controlling the resources and actions of the pack. The Alpha Male will be chosen via RP. This rank is born, not made.

-Future Alphas (Unlimited)
Any pups born to the Alpha pair are future Alphas. They are trained in ruling and conditioned to have no mercy, taking over when they can challenge and beat their parents or their parents step down. This rank is born, not made.

-Betas (4)
Betas are the overseers of the pack. They act according to the Alpha and are extremely loyal. There are always four, and each Beta chooses a non-Alpha pup to train as their successor. When these pups reach age 5, they take over from their Beta. This rank is made, not born. These wolves may choose to either keep any of their pups or give them to Thetas.

-Future Betas (no more than 4, numbers vary)
These wolves are in training to be Betas. They range from the ages of 5 months to 5 years. They help attend to the Betas' needs and take over either when they reach 5 or their mentor Beta retires. This rank is made, not born. These wolves are in training and cannot have pups- if they do, it is punishable by removal to an Omega rank.

-Thetas (Unlimited)
These wolves are caretakers and parents to the pups of the pack. They are in constant milk production for females in order to feed pups. How the pups they care for arrive varies- they can be forcibly taken Omega pups or given up by another rank. This rank is made, not born. These wolves can have pups but they will be cared for by another Theta.

-Zetas (Unlimited)
Zetas provide food for the pack. They hunt for everyone and are permitted to eat before the pack. This rank is mainly sighthounds and other fast dogs, who can chase rabbits and birds. Pups born here are raised by Thetas, and the Zetas resume duties as soon as their milk stops. Males must hunt as soon as their mate births. This rank is made, not born.

-Pups (Unlimited)
Pups are the future of the pack. Cared for by Thetas, they have infinite potential. Disfigured pups are always destined to be Omegas, but the Epsilon will place other pups in their future ranks when they are weaned. They can become any rank beside Alpha or Omega, and the Betas personally choose their Trainees. One pup is chosen as Epsilon's assistant. They are nursed by Thetas.

-Epsilon (1)
The Epsilon is a barren and nameless female. She is the shaman and healer of the pack, overseeing all wounds. She also has other jobs- delivering pups and killing those who are useless to the pack. Epsilon chooses the rank of the current pups, and also matches Omegas to their mates. Epsilon can not bear pups.

-Omegas (Unlimited)
Omegas are lowest of the low. They are often pushed around and have no freedoms. Any rank may injure or even kill them, and they're used as dummies for pup training. As well, they do not choose their own mates. Omegas are machines to produce the pack's majority of pups, and their heats are almost constant (these wolves were experiments to up the population.) They are matched to mates by Epsilon.





Hawk's Rules
-All are below and will bow to Alphas.
-The hierarchy is as follows: Alphas -> Future Alphas -> Betas -> Betas In Training ->Thetas, Zetas -> Pups -> Epsilon -> Omegas
-Omegas may not challenge to gain rank.
-Epsilons may not challenge.
-Other ranks may challenge ranks above them to gain status. The loser either stays in their position, or if the Higher wolf wins, swaps to the lower position.
-Thetas raise all pups not belonging to Alphas. The exception is Beta pups- Betas may keep their pups.
-No Omega will mate with anyone above their rank.
-Hawk's word goes.
-No escape attempts are allowed, this is punishable by death.
