I like buying lions. Whenever it's for myself or for others, I really enjoy doing it. But what I don't like is the way auctions are handled on Lioden. With rules like "I can stop the auction where I like", "High buyout price to encourage bidding" or some people organizing secrets bids via pm, I really think an auction house will fix this problem.

Here's what I think could possibly work:

● An Auction House (obviously) where you can put your item up for auction.
●You'll have the ability to put up how long you want the auction to last, 30 mins, 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours.
●The minimum amount of how much someone can bid. Example, if I'm selling a decor and the minimum amount is 5sb. It goes 5,10,15,etc. You can't dip under 5.
●No buyout option or cancelling trades. Once it up for auction, it's up for auction.
●Having the ability to delete auctions if no one bids

Feel free to suggest any other ideas on how this could or can't work! I'd love to hear them.

Suggestions

I think you should be able to cancel/edit your auction price withing maybe say 10 minuets of putting it up, for things like mistakes ect. And then from there, you can't touch it or do anything. I also think Auctions should be maybe around 1-14 days or so depending on what you choose

This suggestion has 151 supports and 10 NO supports.

I forgot to mention that XD
I also feel like it'd get too complicated with items. Because just like GB, people put their OWN value down.
If there's no set price in the oasis, then the price is completely made up by players.
And since the game doesn't value GB as anything other than 150SB, that's gonna completely screw up who's bidding the highest between SB and GB offers.
So there's no way the auction function can tell 5GB is more than 10SB because computers only know that 10 is more.
And the computer also doesn't know that a GMO cow is "worth" 20GB, whereas 2 carcasses might be 20SB.
But because there are TWO carcasses and just ONE GMO cow, then it'll see the carcasses as a better offer.
So then that means it'll have to take GB offers separately from SB offers and separate from item offers.
The only safe way to offer items and the Owner deciding if they want them for their worth, would have to work exactly like the trade center does now. So that'd completely defeat the purpose of item offers in an auction.
Especially since the trade center is an auction in it's own respect because of that...
So I do agree with Flip that it should be currency only. And perhaps make your own substitution value if possible.

Perhaps for those being scared of being lowballed, you could have a "minimum starting bid" which would be the minimum you think your item is worth in either SB, GB, or both? From there, bidders can bid at your increase rate of x SB/GB until the auction is over.

EDIT: Of course, here's a little tidbit that I mulled over while typing out a response to another thread.

I heavily encourage the use of the Trading Center instead of forum auctions, but that's just because it's a beautifully simple way to keep from being scammed, and it’s literally the exact same thing, save for you don’t have the item to elaborate on the items, and it’s simple, to the point, and guarantees items and payment are sent.

Please auctions honestly do count as trading on a promise, and if you'll check rule 14 under “Member Behavior” of the Terms and Conditions...

14. We CANNOT and WILL NOT moderate what we call "promise transactions". This is a type of transaction that doesn't take advantage of the implemented game's trading system or studding system to conduct a trade, studding, or other action which involves an exchange of game assets. We STRONGLY advise that you do not transfer anything to other members on the promise that they will do something in return, e.g. breed your lioness and send her back, reserve future-bred cubs for you, etc. If you do partake in a "promise transaction" then it is completely at your own risk. If you get burned by not getting your game assets back, we will not intervene. "Promise transactions" include refusal to use the trading center, in-game breeding system (trading studdings for items, for example) or any other method of secure transaction on Lioden.

I like the official feel of it, Yet I still want to be able to edit my Auction whenever I want, And the thing your suggesting is gonna be a problem.

I also want them to have a liger end date option, Besides 14 days. Maybe a month or two?

Just like trades, I believe you should always be able to cancel it.

Please auction house!

>It is hard auctioning lions via forum because bidders might not have funds or trolling so Lion loses age when you think you have sold it... but no you haven't.

>It is painful watching some buyers auction lions via forum who change the auction date because they want more money over and over for a long period of time.

Because of this an official auction house I feel should be on the site where buyers and sellers feel at ease.

>Certain items with SB/GB can be used to bid with (OP selecting like in raffle what are accepted items and put in what they value them at in GB)
>AB function should be available (so lion are bought out faster)
> Cancelling auction should be the first hour or two to safeguard bids from sellers who continuously want more and more.
>Depending on Lion's age/mutation auction can go longer than 3 days.
>Safeguard people wanting to sell their lions from people bidding what they do not have and wasting time but also to those who accidentally put up the auction.

Currency-only auctions would be great. Right now we just have raffles, where you pay the specified thing for a random chance to win. Honestly, if you just change it to be an increasing price with minimum set increments it'd eliminate a lot of the headaches and you could still make it so they can be canceled at any time, except maybe in the last few hours or something. As it is, the whole "I'm going to cancel this raffle if I make even 10SB below market standard" approach many have with raffles is kinda dumb and always discourages me from ever entering. If you want to get a set price for it, then use your branch.

@ Deixis🐁 (#184153) yeah I really find it annoying when raffles are cancelled so I rarely enter them and I am not sure how it is still allowed people to hold raffles over via forums when there is already a feature built-in. It's not guaranteed to be randomly generated/people can push back the date as long as they want or go AWOL.

Auctions via forums are so painful especially when a buyer has no obligation to sell even if an agreement is reached or buyer has no obligation to reply/buy and you need time to run one so people see your post...... So at least 3-7 days wasted if you are selling.

I placed the statics of auctioning in chat and out of 9 lions I've tried to sell in the last month, 3 buyers were not able to fulfil.

It's incredibly stressful for me because the older the lion is the more likely you cannot sex change as a buyer (who either wants to breed or heir) and all that time i have had on chat posting a forum link is wasted.
