so either I badly fail at searching or this suggestion was indeed not yet suggested (although I find that hard to imagine... I am pretty sure players who like to equip their lions find the current decor settings lacking a bit)

I am asking for an option to move decor "behind" the lion - there are many decor items around who are nice but so huge that you can't really see the lion behind them anymore, they cover a lot of the animal. As the lion graphics are layered anyway (backgrounds behind the lions, then the lions and the decor above them), there should be a fairly easy technical solution to make it possible to put decor on a layer between background and lion ("behind" the lion).

Edit: as Maulise has nicely demonstrated, this would not work for all. But for some of them it should be possible (example: Trance).

This suggestion has 3 supports and 4 NO supports.

No support, just because this wouldn't work :c All decors are positioned in the foreground or background. Even if you put a decor on the foreground behind the lion, it'd poke out from under it anyway. If you put a decor from the background on top of the lion, it would float, and cover the lion.

I admit I have issues understanding this given reason... I imagine the layering comparable to layers in a graphics editing application (say, photoshop or gimp) - how are the layers here different from layers on a psd, why can't a layer here be moved in front of or behind an other?

I imagine the lion graphic simply covering the part of the decor that was previously covering the animal (say, the whispers decors, for example, admiring lions/lionesses and the such, Trance...).

You can, but the way the items are positioned on the canvas would make it pointless to do so with most decor items, because they would just look out of place, or show from underneath the lion.

For example, this is the groupie lioness layered under the lion art:

OK, this is admittedly a nice example that it might not work for all... but for some of them definitely.

What would be the problem with Trance, for example? This would for sure work.

It would work for some, yeah ^^ Would be of limited functionality. That said, I see no reason for this not to be implemented for some decors, if it's not a strain on the server c:

Well a loading graphic is a loading graphic... I am not a tech nerd of course, but it just seems hard to imagine a graphic being more tiresome for a server when it's behind a lion or in front of it [correct me here if I missed something].

Some of the decors seem to a bit heavily cover the animal which can be a pity when you just spent a couple of GB on a marking that you'd like to actually see afterwards... or when players want to sell studs: they might also want the looks of their lion to be visible.
