We have brood mothers why not use sub males as mentors for adolescents? He would still be able to patrol but it would take longer with youngsters taging along (half an hour) he would be able to teach 2 adols at a time and you could get dynamic messages about what the trio did during the patrol, like subs the adolescents could get a stat or 2 for running around and they may bring back more than one item :)
