Ok, I am a little obsessed (Ok, way obsessed) with birds. This is my narrowed down list if you can believe it. These are birds decors that I believe should be added because they are gorgeous! (And all found in Africa). And in the case of the nightjar, we need the dark side represented. Check out my Animal Decor thread for more decor ideas. White Crowned Lapwing Square Tailed Nightjar (Our nocturnal representative on this idea. Photo was apparently taken in Zambia) Woodland Kingfisher Little Bee-eater Let me know what you think in the comments below please! Check out this suggestion here too if you like birds! Suggestion from a fellow bird lover~ |

I love the bee eaters, they are adorable. I'm jealous of Africa, they have really gorgeous birds. The night jar is adorable too, reminds one that I held when I was banding birds years ago. Of course it was a night jar we have in the US, maybe he's a cousin of the one I banded. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Perhaps! You band too? I bet some people are jealous of the Blue Jays and Cardinals we have. Not to mention the Goldfinch. Oh, I could go on all day. I'm lucky. A class I'm taking in May 2017 is going to New Zealand and Australia. I can't wait! A whole month out there (including a week on the reef)! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh man... I'd love to go out of the country. I didn't get the opportunity when I was in college. My professor went to Kenya, Zimbabwe and other places for the birds and the mammals. I would have died happy if I saw a lion in real life and in the wild and not behind a zoo barrier. And he also went to South America, Mexico, Galapagos, some of the Caribbean islands. He goes all over the place. I was just too broke to go. It costs a lot of money to go overseas. So the only cool experience I got was going to Back Bay twice a year. Spring and fall for bird banding. My favorite birds to band were the tiny guys, like sparrows and chickadees. I was bitten by a cardinal, didn't feel good XD. But I loved holding the sharp shinned hawks, and I pet a Merlin. Didn't hold it, but got to pet it. We almost caught a Peregrine, he flew right by the banding station. I yelled Falcon! and ran at full speed toward the nets. Found a hawk, and yelled hawk. But no falcon. I don't band anymore, but I'm a human bird book. My parents ask me what kind of birds they see, or hear. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've never been out of the country before (though my grandparents have traveled the world). So, I'm excited. My sister has been to Japan (I have cousins there) and Korea (yet she complains Dad never took her anywhere....). Cardinals are nasty. My friend got scarred up nicely banding a pelican. Personally, I love shrikes (and they love me as they tend to calm down around me). You got to pet a Merlin?! Lucky. Three cheers for being a human bird book! I am called the Queen of Birds by my friends. I'm an Evolutionary Bio major with a focus in zoology. Birds are my main thing (With herpetology close behind). Even though I'm a sophmore I'm working on getting Independent study credit by helping one of the grad students with her research project on Eastern Bluebirds. Right now it's mainly watching the videos and cataloguing the info. Have you ever skinned a bird? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Some of these are only European or North American. And I think he already has some of these planned and there are some parrot decors. 0 players like this post! Like? |
