The Cherry Blossom base thread made by another user inspired me to try making a February-event base myself! A lot of the Valentines bases I've seen (including the ones that are actually in the game) seem pretty light, so I wanted to try making a really dark, richly-colored one! Speaking of "rich", I named it the Cordial base, named after these babies (I want some really bad...) Here it is:  Here's a 2.0 version! This one leans more towards red-brown than pink. I'm fully ready to embrace "UGH MORE PINK LIONS???" and "ARGH THIS IS TOO UNNATURAL THALATH YOU SUCK" comments and no supports but thought I'd give it a shot! This is the first time I've designed a base apart from helping with the Eggnog base made by Lassie [I.R.I.S.] (#49710). Let me know if you think it's too saturated or even too unsaturated or what. Hope you guys like it! I'm aware Red Dark Countershaded Special (not Common, durrrr me) would make more sense, but all of the Valentines bases are currently in Cream so I thought I'd put this one in there as well |

I have to say that its really nice done. But like you said in the thread there will always be people who think its not natural enough. I'm one of them. Its a bit too close to purple i think. Maybe if it looks more brown-ish? But then its not exactly a Valentine base anymore right? I wouldn't say that this base has no chance of coming in the game. I just don't like it enough, like cinnabar (god i hate that base xD) Other people might see some really good potential in it. ~No support from me, sorry~  0 players like this post! Like? |

Haha, it was actually even more purple to begin with (the original idea was a base named "Velvet"), but then I decided it looked too much like Ebony and didn't really fit the whole pink-Valentine-base thing. I agree this one leans more towards the purple side of pink than I'd really like it to, but I was afraid if I made it too red it'd look too much like Blush Rose. More brown-ish with maybe some pinkish undertone so it's not 100% pink sounds like it'd be pretty cute though (and it'd really fit the whole cordial theme), maybe I'll try that later. Here's a 2.0 version, this one is more brown and red rather than pink (though perhaps still not brown enough... making bases just right is actually really tough!). This one looks a bit more like a cordial; version 1.0 looks more black cherry-ish, or perhaps like wine :) (Thanks for the comments guys!) 0 players like this post!
