Hello! I've looked and haven't found anything like this, so I thought I'd give it a shot on the boards. I was thinking, since mothers cannot be transferred, traded, or killed without their cubs going along, maybe you could assign the cubs to a foster mother? Another mother who is nursing cubs and in the same pride. After all, thats what normal lion prides would do if the mother died and they wanted the cubs to live, right? They would then go on a foster cooldown/ could not be reassigned a new mother until rollover. There would have to be rules though. For example, the mother will be only able to nurse cubs for 5 days since her cubs were born. The cubs who are too young would need a new mother at rollover. If a new mother is not found by them, the cub would die because the foster mother would not have the milk for them. Therefore, if you assigned a 1 month old to a mother with 2 month old cubs, the cub would need a new mother at 4 months. Another limit would be the amount of cubs the mother can manage to nurse. 5, maybe, including her own? If she has 5 or more cubs she will not be eligible for fostering. Foster cubs could also provide as a mood boost to mothers who had their cubs killed or die. They would not serve as brood mothers, who would remain a totally different idea. This would be useful if you wanted to kill, sell, or chase a mother but not her cubs/ only certain ones, and a few other scenarios. Ideas/opinions? |
