Thalath, the giving tree takes its offers from all discarded items. Any item discarded has a chance to get on the tree, it' s not a separate donation process.

Personally I like to collect even some useless items, so I do not mind seeing ' em on the tree.

Sorry, but I do not support. The Giving Tree's system is 'One man's trash is another man's treasure.' That's what the giving tree is. "Here discarded items lie. Feel free to take one..." If you don't want it, don't claim it.

...Are you serious? There definitely should be an item filter then, that's pretty annoying. I guess it would filter out all event items such as the water items from the August event, etc.?

Edit: Regarding Sassy's post down below (figured I might as well just edit instead), perhaps having the tree "clear" every couple hours or so would also help, if people feel that a filter isn't needed?

I'm very annoyed when i see people giving away stuff that people actually wants, and since giving tree cant delete items when it resets, it forces people to take the junk items.

I just noticed something. You state that you can sell the things instead of dumping them. Why not claim them to sell them then? That's what I would do. Claim some muddy feather to make a quick buck.

imo- Just be happy there is a giving tree. If you are greedy- maybe you should stop checking it. I personally have found every item to be of value at some point in the year. No support

That's not the problem. The problem is, the crappy items (if you think muddy items are like that) just clog up the tree and no one really wants to take one {unless you are that person}. I'm all for people getting what they want, but items that that have no sentimental value should be cleared.

Honestly, just sell them. If you have a stack just sell them.

Support. I'd rather not have the tree clogged with a bunch of useless items that no one is going to take to sell for 3 SB after doing so. If everyone did that we wouldn't have the problem of it clogging. It makes way for other items to go through.

I also really dislike when chat hypes and starts flooding because someone said they decided to throw a bunch of decor in there, and, alas - you have to wait an hour and a half for the useless crap to filter out to even take a crack at anything. + The people who like to say they toss a GMO cow in there to troll all of chat and lag the Giving Tree page. e.e

If that were unable to be implemented, a rinse out, if anything for it, would be nice. Every hour or so the items that have been in there for 4 cycles are filtered out to make way for new ones. This could of course be adjusted.

Just a suggestion, and I'm not trying to be rude, since everyone has the right to voice their opinion about it regardless and doesn't have to listen to my banter, but I suggest people give actual structural evidence as to why this should or not be implemented rather than the whole "you get what you get and don't get upset" thing. It's a lot more valued and helps a lot more to explain to other uses why this would be a good/bad suggestion rather than just saying to "deal with it."
