After a little while, Boulderstrike had caught two more mice and, going back to dig up his vole from earlier, he headed back to camp. Trotting through the entrance, the two mice and the vole hang from his jaws from the tail. Dropping them on the fresh-kill pile, he had sat in the middle of camp and began cleaning himself, as his fur had matted only slightly from the hunting. After he had finished, he just sat there, watching some cats.

The strong head of the warrior looked up at their leader as he called a meeting. As he was heading towards the place under the highrock, his gaze drifted to Bearclaw, who seemed pained, fur matted with snow. A small frown on his face, he padded over to her, "Bearclaw?" he asked, standing beside her. "What happened?" he asked, cocking his head slightly, eyes clouded with confusion. What happened to her...?

Frostheart raised her soft and pretty jawed face from her moss bed, her eyes opening slowly. She stood up amd stretched, feminine jaws parting open in a yawn. After doing so, she trotted out of the den and headed out. She was on dawn patrol. Therefore, she went out with the whole patrol as they, well, patrolled the borders.

But that was before Rainstar had called;
After she had gotten done with the dawn patrol Frostheart, being bored, decided to go out and hunt and, doing so, she came back with a few mice and a vole. Setting all, but one mouse, on the fresh-kill pile, she sat in the middle of camp- near Boulderstrike I suppose- and began eating petty bites from the mouse. Yellow optics moving up to Rainstar, Frostheart- being done with her petite mouse- walked forward, agile and rather beautiful body moving forward gracefully and stopping below the highrock, where everyone else was.

MAPLEWISH

Maplewish reared up and leaped forward, high enough to clear a badger's back. She landed without dropping her forepaws and spun around quickly, keeping her balance with the ease of a trained warrior. She then ducked down, back onto four paws, and twisted to her side, snapping her jaws as though clamping them into a badger's hind leg.
Once she'd completed the move, Maplewish sat up and caught her breath. "Did you get all of that?" she questioned, still panting slightly.

"...No." Ravenpaw stared at Maplewish, amazed. She had her ears perked. "...Can you show it again? Or just maybe the first step?"

MAPLEWISH

Maplewish purred in amusement, rolling her eyes and rearing up again. She flicked her tail briefly to hold her balance before twitching an ear at Ravenpaw. "Come on," she said, still purring slightly. "We'll do it together this time."

"Okay" Ravenpaw said, also rearing up. She wobbled a bit, before balancing. "So...How do we jump." She looked at her paws, then around the clearing, then back at her mentor.

MAPLEWISH

Maplewish demonstrated the move first, pushing off with her right hind paw and springing forward. As she landed, the spotted she-cat was careful to stay on her hind paws before dropping to the ground and padding over to Ravenpaw. "Now you try. It's alright if you don't get exactly right," she encouraged. "It took me forever to learn this part of the move."

Ravenpaw paused, thinking about what she was going to do. She flicked her tail, before attempting to jump.
Well, she jumped alright. It was more of a hop, though. It was extremely amusing, seeing a cat hop about an inch above the ground. Like a little bunny. But this bunny eats other bunnies. Scary.
After landing, Ravenpaw lost her balance. She panicked, and ended up faceplanting into the snow with a surprised mew.

Maplewish smiled sympathetically, bounding over and grabbing her apprentice by the scruff to pull her out of the snow drift. She set Ravenpaw down on a firmer patch and brushed a bit of snow off the she-cat's whisker's with her tail. "So, you've got the jump, Ravenpaw. Just work on going a little higher as you need to clear the badger's back and keep away from its' claws," Maplewish instructed. "Next to work on is.. well, your balance. When I do it, I try and push off with my weaker leg so that when I land, my stronger leg comes down first and I can usually stay balanced."

Ravenpaw nodded, standing up on her hind legs again. She got her balance a bit quicker this time, but the jump wasn't as high as it should be. Ravenpaw managed to land on her hind paws, and looked very proud of it.

MAPLEWISH

"Good job!" Maplewish praised, her eyes lighting up proudly. "Now, if you're ready for the next step, watch me. Just know that it's easier when you do it all together, but we'll get to that later." As she spoke, Maplewish reared up again and repeated her previous movements and adding on the spin, dip, twist and snap movements that followed.

"Uh..Alright." Ravenpaw got onto her hind legs. "So...I'll jump over the badger, turn around, and bite it?" She asked.

Maplewish nodded her head in agreement, padding forward to correct the little she-cat's form with her tail. "The point of the movement is to move too quickly for the badger to hit you," she explained. "If it does, game over. Enjoy your express trip to StarClan." Maplewish then backed away and twitched an ear to signal that she could start. "That's why we jump to get behind it, then twist around quickly to make sure it doesn't have time to turn. The dip and bite are to wound it, making the fight a bit more far. Normally apprentices and young warriors aren't allowed to take on a badger at any costs, but this move is a just in case."
