Signups; http://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429217002&page=1 QUICK RUNDOWN OF RULES; II. You cannot kill or maim another character without the player's permission. You can, however, fight them, steal from them, spy on them, ect, without permission. III. Please do not let your characters be untouchable. Some characters should die, or have some major loss of some kind. IIII. On that note, though, don't force drama. Don't make your sweet character act unrealistically mean just because you want a conflict, or have your character hear a fight that's miles and miles away. If you want to cause conflict, try to do it more subtly. This is a war; It won't be hard to find differences in morality or attitude. Besides that, there's a human on every corner. IV. Hate the character, not the person. Don't take anything said in RP as a personal attack on you. This is all for fun. V. As this will be a small RP, you can have as many characters as you feel comfortable with. But i do ask, if you have more than two characters, don't use every character in every post. If you have a character that is sleeping, let them sleep, and use another character in the meantime. This is to keep things from getting extremely crowded and static; I don't want one person RPing about 5 different characters in one post, and all of them be talking to each other. So, put short, you can have a ton of characters, but don't use all of them constantly. VII. Wait about two or three posts before posting again. We want everyone to have a chance to participate. VIII. Keep fights interesting. Let your characters hit each other, trip, or even lose. XI. Keep it realistic. Dragons get hungry, tired, thirsty, afraid, wounded, and sick like any other creature. XII. Dragons know a mixture of human words like "house, gun," Ect, but also use some wolfspeak ("metal-creature", "human lairs/dens", ect.). They only know words they would logically know from confronting humans, which...Isn't a lot. I mean, would you stop to chat with a mythical creature? XV. Posts must be literate. At least 4 sentences. XVI. Cursing and gore is allowed, but keep it balanced. No long strings of cursing every post, and no extreme gore every other post, either. QUICK RUNDOWN OF CHARACTERS; (Let me know if any of this is inaccurate!) Taro; ??? Taro's Second in Command; Kuldristalri ("Dris"), a stubborn, daring and easygoing ruby-colored male, with a slender build, long body and tail, about 12 feet tall, with spines down his body, skull, and tail. He beholds giant wings, and striking gold eyes. Can breathe golden flames and inspire fear with direct eye contact. Fire has a recharge period that gets longer with each use. 148 years old. He does not entirely want war, but he is tired of hiding from humans and does not have qualms with fighting back. He is also extremely loyal. (Played by Hawkmask) Soldiers; Raven, a secretive, serious and aggressive large red and cream female with two horns on her head and large fans down her tail and neck, and pale yellow eyes. Can breathe fire, and her scales are fire-resistant. Fire has a recharge period, and can not be used for long periods of time. 146 years old. (Played by ChristiCat15) ----- Ayla; Aylaris, calm and thoughtful, but also stubborn and seemingly cold. A copper-gold female with a slender build and huge size. Her scales have a blue and green iridescence to them, and her grey underbelly likewise has a greenish sheen. Her short frills and broad horns make her appear regal, and her wings are attached down the length of her body. She has a corrosive breath utilized in a bite, that can paralyze prey, although it only stuns larger dragons. She also has a weak form of telepathy. The acid-breath has a recharge rate that gets worse every time it's used, and the telepathy is highly draining. Age unknown, but its obviously young. She wants to lead dragonkind to a place free of humans, but still will not hesitate to slay any humans who threaten her or other dragons. She wants to minimize dragon casualties, but she realizes the nessecity of killing Taro to achieve her goals. (Played by Davina) Ayla's Second in Command; ??? Ayla's Third In Command/Double: Kade, a hotheaded and true female with large iridescent scales that appear bright green in the sun. Her plated underbelly is lighter, leaning more towards grey. Her eyes are silver-grey, (WIP because i bit off more than i can chew with writing summaries of everyone.) At this time in the RP, the war has only begun. News of it has not spread very far, and there isn't much support on either side. The war was only officially announced a few days ago, after a incident where a group of humans destroyed a nest of dragon eggs. This has brought things to a breaking point. Neither side knows much about the other, including the location of each other's armies. Character SheetsNo thread generated. ((Okay, I decided to go ahead and post since no one else seems to want to >.< I can edit/move this comment if necessary.)) Ruri// Female// Ayla's (to be?) Hunter// Location: Rainforest, near a lake// Interaction: Open The light of the surface grew dim around her as Ruri dove further into the murky depths of the lake. The fish and other sealife lazily swam around her, not yet threatened by her presence as Ruri's mind was elsewhere. Just days earlier, news had spread of the human's advances into dragon territory along with a rumor that they had decimated the nest of another dragon. That in itself was an unforgivable crime to most other dragons, but to Ruri it was simply a sign of what was to come: the humans pushing past the invisible boundry that seperated the two species for decades. The humans taking what was not theirs to take. Ruri wouldn't be having any of that. She flicked her long, paddle-like tail and locked her eyes on a large mustard-colored fish with black stripes. Ruri had also heard a rumor of a hidden base somehwere in the rainforest, where a cold yet clever dragon was plotting to take on the humans and cripple their quest to conquer the vast lands of the earth. Of course, this was only gossip. Ruri had made her way to the rainforest the moment she had heard the news. She had to investigate herself whether such rumors were true, though she had little doubt they weren't. The humans were not going to have their way. She surged forward, clamping her jaws around the fish. It thrashed in her mouth, fighting for life, but Ruri only ignored its weak attempts. She rose to the surface once again, dropping the fish on the bank while she let the excess water run off her dark scales. Examining the fish as it laid on its side, gills gasping for air, Ruri thought to herself that she could offer its remains to the dragon she seeked, if they even existed. She was not usually one for flattery, but if it put her in this dragon's favor, that was good enough reason. Her head snapped up suddenly, looking at the surrounding treeline. She thought she had heard a noise. Was it another dragon? A human? Or perhaps it was nothing, her mind playing tricks on her. 0 players like this post! Like? Aylaris | Female | Leader | Location: The Rainforest | Mentions: OPEN A large copper dragoness slunk quietly through the forest, weaving her large slender bod through the dense underbrush with ease. She knew this place well, though she had only taken residence there a short time ago. Maybe the rainforest was not the most inviting of places, but what better place for her now? Well away from the advances of the human pests, save for one or two small primitive groups that knew well enough to keep back. This was her safe place, until she could find the haven of legends, that is. All she could hope is that dragonkind too, would come to their senses and join her there before reckless dragons like the warrior named Taro got them all killed. Hissing beneath her breath, Ayla's eyes narrowed into thin slits. Something was moving just up ahead, stirring up the water and alerting the whole forest to it's presence. Unafraid, the larger dragon stepped out into the clearing ahead of her, stretching up her neck and flaring out her massive wings. There, just on the other side of the lake was a smaller dragon with dark shining scales. The young leader wondered what the other dragon wanted. Why were they here? What did they want? But rather than ask, she remained oddly silent, waiting for the other dragon to speak first. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((ooo This Haven of Legends sounds interesting. Is that Silver's idea or yours? Thanks for responding, Davina!)) Ruri// Female// Rank: Hunter?// Location: Rainforest// Interaction: Ayla/Aylaris Ruri took a small step forward, ready to go investigate until the source of the noise appeared before her. A large female dragon came into view with bright golden scales that seemed to glow in the sun. Ruri paused midstep. She had not expected such a unique-looking dragon to emerge from the foliage. She must have been too loud when she exited the water. Internally, Ruri chastised herself for making such a foolish move. They expanded their wings fully, causing Ruri to widen her eyes slightly. If it came to a physical confrontation, there was no way Ruri would win. Though Ruri had cleverly talked herself out of a few brawls before. They weren't making any moves to attack and seemed to be waiting for her reaction. "Hello," Ruri said simply. Although she felt a bit itimidated, her voice was clear. "I am Ruri. I came here seeking someone of importance." Ruri let the sentence hang in the air, waiting to see if what she said had sparked any interest in the female. She did not want to give away too much information to a stranger, especially a potentially dangerous one. So she was careful with her words. 0 players like this post! Like? benedito && male && taro's group && soldier && location: mountain territory && open for interaction ( i saw that i was accepted, but please tell me if i'm allowed to be roleplaying, as i never saw benedito listed as a soldier of taro's group. ) It was gray, the sky was gray, the landscape below was gray, and Dito could feel even his own equally-gray scales becoming more monotonous as he soared through the cloudy sky. It was quite similar, actually, to most other days, excepting the dawn and sunset hours, of course. Sometimes he would see little human houses dotting the earth below, roads running through the settlements like rivers as he traveled. Swarms of pine trees, clustered in the valleys, brought out a small hint of color. Sometimes a foolhardy deer buck would wander from their protection, out onto the barren cliff faces, and Dito would quickly swoop from the heavens to carry it off, barking with amusement at its stupidity as he hooked it with his back talons. They were a delicacy in a diet of stringy and small birds. There wasn't too much for him to do today. Maybe it was time for him to head back to home base, and maybe there weren't too many there to witness him tumbling into his cliff nest. He supposed he would have to wait and see. He tucked in a wing and banked to the right, twirling through the air for a few peaceful seconds. If there had been someone around, he would have already talked both of their ears off, but for now, there was nothing but the open, chilly sky and the wind in his ears. 0 players like this post! Dromeas || Male || Rank: Soldier (Taro's Side) || Location: Near the mountains || Open for Interaction Dromeas slowly plodded up the slope, his splayed back foot altering his walking stance in an infuriating way. He body lurched slightly as he walked, his claws spreading apart as he moved towards the base of the mountain, determined to reach the cave he had found atop it. He had heard the screeches the night the nest was destroyed by the humans; he had hated them his entire life, and wasn't afraid to kill one if he found them - which was precisely what he had done a few moments ago. He had killed a lone human with a weak, almost feeble smack to the back of its head, felling it immediately. He, being rather full of himself, had laughed at how rather weak they were, although he knew how dangerous they could be; he had seen a dragon slain by humans before, and it wasn't a pretty sight. He had also heard vague rumors of the war that had supposedly begun, but, as usual, they were only rumors. He had no interest in what he perceived as half-truths. He moved slowly, as he always did, not even bothering to spread his wings due to his terrible flying ability, which was hindered by his weight. He had been thinking about what would happen to him if a war did start; being the angry male that he was, he would most likely take the side that would willingly fight against humans. He knew well that there were some dragons that preferred to hide and others that preferred to fight - and he was the latter. He growled at the thought of fighting; he had done too much of it during his life, so much that another war would not be any different than what he had been through before. He looked up to see a shape flying above, and he grumbled something incoherent, returning to his task at hand; moving up the slope. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Taro || Male || 150 || Very Large and Grey || Location: Around the mountains || Mentions: Dromeas and Benedito Taro himself was swooping low over the base of the mountain he'd claimed as his. Forest covered the foothills, but it thinned quickly and was patchy in most places. Below, he saw someone trudging up and briefly wondered why they were not flying, but his attention quickly returned to the skies as he almost ran right into someone that was smaller than he but equally as grey. He hadn't seen the other male because of how grey the skies were that day. To avoid a crash, Taro flipped over in midair, losing altitude, before his momentum carried him in a complete loop, so that he ended up slightly above the other dragon. "Didn't see you there! Are you alright?" he called, though he knew he hadn't so much as clipped the other male in passing. Kade || Female || Ayla's Third/Double || 230 or so || Location: The jungle || Mentions: Ayla and Ruri Kade was crash-landing. She'd been flying for far too long and was really unsure where she was at all, though she was aware that she was above a jungle of some sort. Eventually, she saw a break in the trees below - a lake. Too tired to keep going, and with a tear in her wing, she just pulled her wings close and let herself fall, occasionally adjusting her course with her uninjured limb. In a few seconds, she plummeted into the icy water, and only then did she really move. That was just to get her head to where she could breathe. Kade was barely even aware that she'd just almost crushed someone. After a moment of rest, she managed to crawl all of the way onto the shore, her tail leaving a deep furrow in the looser soil. From there, she extended her injured wing and breathed. She was to weak to really heal it all the way, but at least she'd be able to fly properly and wouldn't bleed to death, even it it left a scar. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kuldristalri||Male||Taro's Second||148||Location: Mountains||Mentions: Taro Kuldristalri slowly swun his large head back and forth, looking almost lazy as his half-lidded eyes scanned the base Taro had chosen. It looke lazy, maybe, but nothing he did ever was; the ruby dragon was easy-going, but his actions were deliberate. The huge cave he was in was quiet, nothing but some background noise of no importance. Satisfied all was good - one never knew when something would happen - he layed his head back down, his neck stretching out straight in front of him. Taro had gone out a little bit ago, and as much as Dris would've liked a good nap, having had a decent meal of a small deer, he had decided to wait until Taro came back to sleep. Of course... Then he might need me and I'll get no sleep until much later, but I suppose I'll make due... He sighed, piercing eyes closing for a moment before he sat up, trying to keep off the tiredness. When that ceased to help, the ruby male stood and began walking towards the entrance to distract his mind. 0 players like this post! Like? |

benedito && male && taro's group && soldier && location: mountain territory && mentions: taro, dromeas A large shape came out of nowhere, and Dito couldn't help himself from hesitating a bit before folding his wings in and dropping a hundred feet or so before flaring them out again to stop his descent. Taro. He flashed an grin at his superior, trying to conceal his embarrassment at not seeing him. "Hello, sir. I'm all right. Beautiful day out, huh?" the dragon deadpanned, flapping so that he was flying level with the leader. "Is there anything that I should do? I was about to head back to my nest-- I didn't seem to have any assignments left." he scanned the ground below as he spoke and caught a glimpse of Dromeas' hulking form, slowly making its way up the slope of the mountain. He let out a hiss of greeting to acknowledge his fellow soldier. "Not in the mood to fly today?" Benedito shouted down in the general direction of the other dragon, inviting him to join in conversation. This would probably earn him a poke at his nonexistent front legs, an activity others seemed to take great amusement in. 0 players like this post! Like? Purkinje | Male | Age Unknown | Ayla's Spy Location: The Rainforest Mentions: None; open to interactions Stretched lazily across the branch of a towering cork oak, Purkinje's rest was softened not only by the spongy bark itself, but the myriad of epiphytes that clumped and climbed the trunk and branches of the hapless tree. His long tail, hanging carelessly down, flicked like a cat's, the hair at the tip waving gently against the breeze. An unsettling cacophony of noise chattered continuously beneath him, faded now that he had escaped to higher ground -- though the trees were no less populated than the ground below. So many little creatures... what were they to humans? With dragons as their sworn enemy, their mere presence promised with death; what was it that these animals had that allowed them to live without being hated and hunted? They certainly weren't harmless -- Purkinje had nearly lost his tail to something just moments before -- but he didn't see a militia of human aggressors launching an attack through the trees. It seemed nonsensical, but humans by definition seemed so, as well. No matter how he puzzled over them, he couldn't even pretend to place a claw on their reasoning. An abrupt twinge of hunger irritating his belly, the small dragon rose to his feet, balancing easily on the broad branch beneath him. It was no use to ponder away, when such an annoying niggling served to distract him. Allowing his claws to ground him securely to the bark with each step, he made his way to the tapered end of the branch -- and moving onto the next, crossed over the one he was already one. Walking and leaping from branch to branch, Purkinje eventually found himself out of branches -- at which point, he leapt, wings flaring open to force his fall into a glide. Feet colliding with the loamy soil, his wings furled once more along his back, laying so close they seemed to mould against his back. Eyes turning to slits, his scales melted into a dark gray-black in a flurry of monochrome shades, whilst his underbelly compensated by shifting white and silver. It was the best camouflage he could manage in such a lush environment, and he only hoped it would be good enough to allow him a couple mouthfuls of meat. Stepping forward, he carefully minded his crippled leg and long tail as his eyes and ears sought out an opportune meal. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dromeas || Male || Rank: Soldier (Taro's Side) || Location: Near the mountains || Mentions: Taro, Benedito Dromeas snorted loudly as he opened his large wings, wondering whether or not to just try and use them, as he was getting tired of walking, but decided otherwise. He heard a commotion up above, and angling his large head upwards, he spotted the same dragon speaking to him, as well as a rather new dragon with him. Dromeas growled and rolled his eyes as the other dragon seemingly poked fun at his great weight, and opened his wings, intending to fly up. He heaved his great body upwards and flew towards the pair, staring at the gray dragon with sarcasm flicking in his eyes. "You're one to talk." He laughed, lightly bumping the other dragon with his shoulder to signal that he was just poking fun. His gaze flickered to the other dragon, who he finally had identified as Taro, and he dipped his head respectfully at his leader. "Fine morning to fly, isn't it? Unfortunately for me, I have issues flying due to my great hulking body." He chuckled, making fun of himself in a rather good-natured way. (So sorry I haven't posted! ( i dunno. i'm sort of lazy and would prefer to just keep going, but it's your choice. ) benedito && male && taro's group && soldier && location: mountain territory && mentions: dromeas Yeah, yeah. Freaking stub legs. Benedito recoiled slightly and opened his mouth slightly to counter Dromeas' jab, prepared to defend his dignity ( personally, he was hoping that the male wouldn't say anything ) until he was given a joking bump on the shoulder. Dito, relieved, closed his jaws and relaxed a bit, even letting out a small chuckle. His gaze shifted to Taro to wait for his reply. 0 players like this post! Like?
