This is going to be comprehensive post, so I'm sorry if some of these have been suggested before. Most of us (not all) have a bit of a problem with the cub market. Special bases, eyes, markings, etc sell for dirt cheap sometimes. To combat this we should go to the cause of the problem and quit treating symptoms. There are minimum stud fees depending on how many markings. I think it would be even better is it also took into account the rarity of the markings, eyes, bases, etc. Bases There are breed only bases such as Celestial and Skyward. These would add the most in the bases category to the stud fee. After that would come Event Applicator bases such Inferno, Blush Rose, Hallowed, etc. would be second. They are special bases and are easier to get, but can still be applied. Customizable Special Bases follow. These Sunshine, Maltese, Onyx, Russet, etc. Last are the common bases that would not have a price added. Breed only add on price: 50 SB Event: 25 SB Customizable: 10 SB Common: No Price Added Markings This would follow the model of the bases. Breed only and Event Applicator/Event NCL. Customizable markings would be covered by the current system. Breed Only: 15 SB Event: 10 SB Eyes Also follows the Bases model above. Sunglow and Starshine are the breed only eyes, followed by Special Eyes, and the common eye colors. (I'm unsure where the contacts would come in since they don't pass.) Breed Only: 50 SB (Or 40 SB?) Special Eyes: 20 SB Common: No price added Mane Types Follows the model above. Special: 20 SB Event Applicator: 10 SB "Common": No price added Stats PlaguedRuby (#24652) made a nice post on that. That post can be found by clicking here. 0-100: No Price Added 100-200: 5 SB 200-300: 10 SB 300-400: 30 SB 400-500: 60 SB 500-700: 125 SB 700-900: 175 SB 1000: 200 SB For any after that just add up using the above, so just as plain as a lion can be stud with 2300 stats would cost 430 SB. Use any of the above to calculate and see if you think it's fair. None of this would apply to GB pricing. These prices are not absolute. Just an idea to get people thinking and get the idea a little more solid. Thank you for reading. Wouldn't this cause stud prices to be too high? Not necessarily. I'd rather leave pricing up to the judgements of the admins and company. What I have listed here is just any idea to allow people to experiment and get the idea in their heads. The intention though is not to cause studs to be ridiculously priced. It is to even out the playing field and make special bases, markings, etc worth their value. It is also, I think, helpful in terms of leveling the cub market a bit. An Example Look at my main boy with his markings and stats. Using the current system (Each marking itself is 25 SB) combined with what I have above, Selvaggio at his 900 something stats come out with a min stud fee around 595 SB. Try it out on your boy and see what happens. Maybe add the result below? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please leave them below. I take everything into consideration. I hope I can improve this idea even more. Like this idea? Check out my other idea here. |

The cub one may not have been as great of a suggestion but please god do something with the stud fees. Supported. The current minimum stud fee thing we have right now just seems outdated for the New World Of Lioden ™. Why even bother making markings rare? Just wait like a week and they'll be as common as anything else because studs(' looks) can go on forever and people price their studs dirt-cheap. 0 players like this post! Like? Thanks X I O. I'll add that up top and recalculate my main male's price with that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I agree. I get frustrated when I see other Septa feline studding for only 500sb. I get your stats are low guys but the chance more people will get septa goes up when you stud for dirt cheap lol. I think this would definitely help out the economy some, and I know the admins don't really want to set prices that mess with economy, but in this case it would be really helpful.... 0 players like this post! I dont support. The cubs you get from studding right now are already in more than half cases worthless, if studs will be forced to be priced higher, it just wont make any sense to stud at all. Remember those special bases and markings fail more often than they pass. Even 2 same special base parents with same special marking in same slot have more than good chance to produce a markingless common based cub. For example, just recently I studded 5 females to a F7O stud, most had double and triple cubs but I only got 1 cub F7O, all the other were junk with 1-2 common marks and common bases. I didnt pay a lot to the stud so it was so-so ok, but if I had to pay 400something per each studding, that would be a big waste of SB. Fail cubs are hard to sell even now when their price wasnt that high, if it was higher, they'd be impossible to sell at all, making them even more worthless and broading the gap between "good" and "junk" lions. And stats are pretty much useless as well, no matter how high they are on the stud you're still going to get nowhere near their stat amount. I always choose lower statted cheaper studs over higher statted more expensive ones. The chances for the cub to be a fail one are the same and the difference in stats on them will be like 50 stats - it's just not worth paying over two times more for that higher statted stud. 0 players like this post! Generally, it'sa good idea, and i've thought about it myself too, but the problem is that the market is VERY dynamic :/ Say a new marking/base has just come out, and this suggestion has been implemented. If a new player somehow gets hold of it, they would price the lion according to the minimum price. This would be great if the market was stable, but it would end up with something that could go for like 40 GB goes for like 400 sb in some cases. The way it is now, people are more likely to ask for prices in, say, main chat or forums, where people can advise them on what to do and how the market works. It's a good, well-meant idea, but it could possibly make the lowballing worse in some cases, since the market depends on supply and demand :/ 0 players like this post! Like? |

People can still price what they want, but the lowest they would be able to price is what is added up on their Lion. It's meant to be added on and similar to the current system. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, i know :P i'm just saying, new players will go by those standard prices, and say a feline marking would be priced at.. idk, some hudnred sb when it first came out. It'd be insane lowballing, dirt cheap :/ similarly, imagine a feline marking being priced at 40 GB a while later, that's way too much even though it might have fit at on time :/ and updating those prices regularly would be a very difficult task for staff, as it depends on how many people breed the markings/basesand how many fo them are chased/killed and a lot of stuff :/ 0 players like this post! Yeah, but that's why these prices are low and general. I thought about how the market changes and tried to take that into account. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Those upped minimum prices would make most breedings end up in a waste of SB - the chance of cubs being fail doesnt change and so does their price. Let's say, the current stud fee for a lion is 250SB. The breeding is done and the cub is a fail - it didnt inherit any of the good markings and it's base failed to a common. How much can one price that cub? 100SB at best if it's good looking, and even less if it's not. The loss is 150SB+. Now let's say stud fees were upped and the lion's minimum stud fee is 500SB now. The cub still is a fail, with no good markings and failed base. How much would a person sell it for? Same 100SB or less, upped stud fees wont likely change the price on failed cubs. People wont want them any better regardless of how much the seller had to pay for them because they arent pretty and have no special stuff, but the breeder's loss in SB will be 400SB+ already. Hardly any help in cub economy, just users will loose more with failed breedings. The failed cubs will become even more unwanted, because the cost of their fail will be even more SB. Raising minimum stud fees would only make sense if Lioden had more predictable breeding system. Novelty of the marking is also something that users take into account and the system just possibly cannot. My king has 10 special maks, special base, mane, but hardly anyone is ever studding to him. If the stud fees were raised, nobody would ever stud to him at all. Why? His special markings arent new. Raise stud fees or not, markings always will go more common over time. But with raised stud fees people with older marks will have even harder time to get studdings. People will always put their lions at lowest possible price, new marks or not, and older markings will be even less wanted. 0 players like this post! Like?
