Kenai narrowed her eyes at Meruem's comments, but gave a curt nod "Im aware of this, at least, i dont see why we should be allies." She spoke loud enough for all to hear, and continued "However, i dont see a valid reason we should not. Sunrise will and has always been neutral among the packs neighboring them. Including the humans on our other side." She shot a glance at Meruem "I heard that my beta foolishly told you where the humans were after your wolf got trapped and had to be rescued by my pack mates. Then today, we were attacked by the same humans - one of our packmates were killed and everyone feared they would find the camp. I have no doubt that this wasnt just a coincidence, some random raid by the humans." She watched Meruem carefully. "Sunrise will not ally with the other packs unless we need to. But we do not wish to be enemies with either of you. Rivals and neutral means we live coexisting, sometimes a skirmish but we will live on and coexist."

Lucifer // Alpha DF

She snorted slightly at the comments bouncing between the alphas, her eyes flitting to Kenai before sighing. Her head turned to Nova and her voice dropped, "What would you say to a truce? Not an alliance but a truce, between us and them." Her head tilted towards Shadowpack for a brief moment then towards Kenai. Neutrality meant everything to their world, rivalry could be sparked from Kenai's words before she looked around them once more, From Kerrin to Arielle. She shifted her gaze to Kenai and Meruem, "Before I make a decision that could hurt my pack in the end I'd like to talk to the lot about this big choice. I'd rather us all agree on one term then just deciding outright and hurting the pack in whole." Without another word she sent a bark to her back makes and walked towards a rock not far off and hopping onto it. "Guys, what would you say to a truce between us and them? I don't want an alliance as that could lead to something terrible, but a truce. Say under the terms said pack can't cross into ours and ours them without permission, We help when it's needed and expect it as well? Anything else you think of speak up."

Kenai glances at Kerrin, then behind to her wolves, asking for input before she flat out decided that they would be neutral without asking their suggestions. Truces had their own appeal, and if shadowpack didnt deliver, they could just say it was their fault and have an excuse.

Nova | Beta | Duskfall

"Between violence and peace, peace is always the better solution," Nova said, padding over to where Lucifer sat. He twitched an ear in Meruems direction. "ShadowPack may only care for themselves but they have a code of honour. They'll keep their word unless they are threatened." He narrowed his eyes. "At least that's how it used to be. Back then ShadowPack didn't have assassins either so I don't know to what extent we can trust them. Even so I believe a truce would be a good choice."

Meruem stared stonily at Kenai and her ears pinned back in disdain. "Thats a very weak connection to make. If you are implying that my wolves had something to do with the humans on your territory then you are sorely mistaken. Your beta was doing right by us in showing us where a very real danger was and we were very grateful .Perhaps you ought to take responsibility failing to protect your pack before pushing the blame onto us." Her tone was icy cold and her eyes burned with anger. Her gaze met those of her packs and she let out a heavy breath, flattening her rising fur. Turning back to Kenai she said with a forced smile "Even so, ShadowPack would happily make a truce with the wise and honourable wolves of Sunrise Pack." She turned to look at the Duskfall wolves. "And even more so with Lucifers pack. They have shown us courtesy and we'd like to return the favour."

Kenai's eyes remained trained on her group, waiting for their input (itd be great to have some at least xD Izusa and storm are there, tundra kerrin, DAEMON etc etc). Her eyes flashed with anger and self hatred when Meruem hit her with the 'dont blame his death on me, its your pack'.

Killua | Beta | Shadowpack

Killua gave a sharp glance at Meruem when she acted out with her pelt bristling, and murmurer inaudibly "Dont let her get to you like that. They already see through us -on record, i never said this - but if they allied, we wouldnt have the training to take them both out. Dont forget that all the wolves but us siblings and shayla are former rogues. They dont know our ways well enough to fight like us."

"Not all fighting is with tooth and claw, Kil," Meruem murmured back. "Those two packs will never truly be allied considering the bloodshed between them. You have to be political in this." She glanced at Kerrin and Arielle, having noticed the special attention the two had given each other though they weren't packmates. She didn't know how they knew each other but it was clear that there was something there. The same could be said for a few wolves in each pack. It was a game she'd become proficient at back in their main pack, as there had been two neighbouring packs there as well and much drama to go with it. "They are goodhearted. We won't touch a hair on their pelts nor shed a drop of their blood without true provocation."

Kerrin | Male | 5 years | Beta | Sunrise

Kerrin let out a cough, looking around calmly at the conversing wolves. "Calm yourselves, everyone," he adjured, his voice level and seemingly untroubled, "What I said was not meant to be argued over, though, I personally like the idea of a truce between Sunrise and Shadowpack." The male directed a look at Mereum and cut his pacing circle in half to stand by her for a moment. "Pray you lower your hackles, madame, we wouldn't want the Ancients looking down on you with disdain, would we," he asked, giving a tiny, polite smile. "Now, I think it would be in everyone's best interests to discuss the matter of truces in their own pack. In, let's say, a week's time, Duskfall and Sunrise each send a courier to meet with one from Shadowpack, halfway or just outside borders if you'd like, with the packs' separate verdicts regarding the truce." The sunrise beta sat in the center of the wolves alone, facing the three alphas.

Storm | Male | 3 months | Apprentice | Sunrise

Storm shrank back from the chorus of the discussing wolves, more intimidated now. "Is this what all gatherings are like," he whispered to no one in particular, looking around with wide eyes. [Short]

Arielle | Female | 13 months | Noble | Duskfall

Arielle shifted her paws nervously, not quite liking the discussions going on. What was this whole thing about a truce? Why was Shadowpack even suggesting it? We're they hiding something? Her own questions filled the apprentice with mischief, she wanted a part of those secrets, though at the same time, she dreaded them. As the odd Sunrise beta began speaking again after a long period of silence, she couldn't help but stand at attention. Something about him, and not just the way he spoke, made her want, almost need, to listen to the male. She caught his eyes once more, but this time tilted her head to the right, fully giving away her interest.

"Probably.." the little she-wolf shrunk back behind her brother, covering her eyes with her paws and whimpering. She could feel that there was negativity hanging in the air. She didn't like it one bit. Izusa peeked through the cracks between her paw fur, noticing a black wolf tilt her head in her father's direction. "Storm..?" she whispered.

Kenai mentally snappes at herself {Of course Kerrin is the voice of reason. Why couldnt i have seen past my distrust...}. Kenai inclined her head towards her beta "I agree with my beta. Does any alpha see a problem with that decision?" She tilted her head back up, toward the other wolves.

Killua | Beta | Shadowpack

Killua narrowed his eyes "We arent planning on taking over the area? What do you mean? Isnt that the whole reason we're here? What happens if someone comes by to check on us? We'd be chewed out by all of Shadowpack. Are you trying to start a fight between the packs of Shadowpack itself?" He furrowed his eyes in worry "I dont like the sound of that, Mer."

Meruem | Alpha
He has no idea how different our 'ancients' are, Meruem thought with amusement, though she dipped her head in deference to the Sunrise beta. The more memorable ghosts of ShadowPack roamed in forests beneath skies that were far darker than any she nor any other living wolf had known and they guided her and the alphas before her. The only ones who might look upon her with disdain had long moved on to fairer fields. "I shall be expecting your messengers within a quarter moon then," she said in an airy tone and jumped down from the log. "Make sure your wolves do not stray beyond our borders however. I cannot guarantee their safety if they do, as our forest is one of dangers. Bears and all." She waved her tail to Kenai and Lucifer in turn, saying her farewell. "ShadowPack, return home!" The brindled she-wolf loped away from the clearing, not looking back at her rival packs.

Killua gave a rallying bark as he sped out of the clearing, a white blur as he trotted to keep up with his loping sister. He gave a small snort when he was out of range "Yeah. Our great grandfather would be the only one watching you with disdain." He chuckled.

(Kick was Shadows dad or granddad? I think it was dad.)

Meruem gave a huff of laughter as they ran. Illumi loped alongside her, his long legs easily keeping pace. "Shadow didn't send us here to take over these packs Killua," she said, giving him a glance. "She wanted Nova punished and for us to extend our reach which we have done. When we are stronger and have planted seeds within Sunrise and Duskfall- that's when we begin to take their land. There is no rush." A malicious smile crossed her face, flashing her ivories. "Good things come to those who wait, and for now we must wait for those seeds to grow."

(But Kill only aged a few years. She was 2 or 3 and then shadow came into the picture and she was like 6 then. Plus, Shadow might have changed her name too. Maybe he named her Midnight or something and when Shadow(grandfather) started training her and kick died, she changed her name to match her granddad's legacy)

Killua smirked "So, finally fessed what you're here for huh. Artemis just said 'taking over' and growled at me." He chuckled and smirked, his voice dropping so he was barely audible to his siblings "Then my little entertainment is quite beneficial to you as well, huh?"

Vex ran alongside illumi quietly his ears pinned slightly as a growl was heard behind their group but otherwise ignored it. Following the alpha wordlessly and keeping close to the male at his side, the other nights events still plauging his mind. It had taken a lot of coaxing to get him back to camp in time for the meeting but that didn't mean he forgot.

Lucifer nodded to nova before looking to Arielle, "anything you have to say? What about you Pyre?" Her ears flicking to her nobles wanting to know what the faes thought on the subject of a truce.

Pyre narrowed her eyes "I know that we'd rather be allies than against shadowpack in a war...but Meruem is a different alpha than shadow. The wolves of this shadowpack have no wolves from the old shadowpack besides the cheery one called Shayla - and even she is ruthless. We might as well treat this pack as dangerous as shadowpack back home, but more like a band of powerful rogues that have joined forces and have fierce loyalty to each other." Pyre flicked her tail "I guess what I'm saying is...allying with them might be as bad as rivaling them, just secons choice. Rivals, then trucepacks, then allies. Thats how i think we should see this pack's priority of attacking its neighbors."
