Post goes here. Cat name is self explanatory. Location is to be used to indicate where in the territory your cat is so that a cat who is in camp doesn't accidentally reply to a post by a cat who is, say, by the cove. Tag is kind of a similar thing. Tag is to be used to indicate who your cat's post is directed towards. If it was a private conversation in a secluded place with Littlestar (for example) make sure to put: Tag; Littlestar. If you are welcoming anyone in the clan (in your location) to respond to your post simply put: Tag; Open. If you are responding to (again we'll use Littlestar as an example) a specific post but you are still welcoming other people to join the conversation/plot/actions simply put: Tag; Littlestar, Open. If you have any questions PM me or post in our sign-up thread which will also act as our chat thread.

Ooc; If you need to say anything out of character, just put it at the bottom of your post like this in italics.

COVECLAN CURRENT EVENTS
Plot

Leaf-fall has slipped into Leaf-Bare; snow has begun to fall in the forest but the beaver pond and cove have yet to freeze over. The clan is just coming out of the grip of a green-cough plague and many cats have lost their lives, most notably the former leader of the clan. In his illness the former leader named a young tom, barely of age to be a warrior, as deputy of the clan. This young tom now rules over the clan after the passing of their once beloved leader. This inexperienced tom is not ready to be leader, but by the word of starclan who granted him his 9 lives he has stepped up to the challenge. He has named an older cat as his deputy and strives to keep his feuding clan together in the harsh prey-starved Leaf-Bare of the northern Canadian coast. Will this young tom rally support or will he tear the clan apart from the inside out? Only time can tell.

Littlestar
Camp | Tag; Open
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Round chocolate paws padded out across the mossy branch that connected the leader den and the medicine cat den. When the dark brown siamese tom made it to the middle of the branch he sat down and wrapped his tail around his body, over his little paws. His jade eyes scanned the temperate rain forest around the old tree where he was perched then slowly scanned the clearing around the old tree that this clan called home. This small male's small body was silhouetted against the forest backdrop. He was barely visible against the brown barks and green leaves. It felt so strange to sit here. Only 5 days ago this little tom had been named leader of his homeland after his mentor, his friend and his leader had died of Greencough. Coldstar had once been regarded as a great tom. He was big. He was powerful. He was wise. Littlestar, in the beginning of his youth, felt he had none of these traits though his self-doubt was not contained to only his mind. Most of the cats that followed him also had their doubts. The didn't think a runt of barely two years should run their clan. They didn't think he was capable. Perhaps deep down Littlestar agreed with them but now was not the time to give into despair. Coveclan had lost many great cats in their battle with the seasons and now they stood divided. Littlestar's only hope was to hold them together was to hold himself together.

Standing again the apprentice-sized leader made his way down to the forest floor. How could he expect his cats to follow him if he didn't gain their trust. Littlestar, as Littlewhisker, had spent most of his life trying not to be noticed but now he needed them to notice him. He needed them to value him as a leader or at very least as an equal. He needed a unified clan in order for them to survive the deep of winter that was ahead of them...

Ooc; This is not well written and I apologize. It took so long to get the start on this RP and now my muse is having a melt down. Lol. Hopefully it'll be back in no time and I can be typing at my full potential. :)

Harriermask | 48 Moons | Male Rouge | Location: Out of Clan Territory | Tag; Open |

It was skinny as a bald cat’s tail and just about as appetizing but it was food. With understandable reluctance Harriermask bit into the starved body of a brown white adolescent weasel. He hated eating the creatures...reminded him to much of his own species, not to mention he had been called one many times for the shenanigans he got himself into when he was a kit, developing a sort of affection for the name and what it represented. With achingly slow bites the striped male ate every single portion of the catch before he started to clean his fur. It was the beginning of leaf-bare and it looked as if it would be a hard one indeed if the lack of prey was any indication. Narrowing pale green eyes the male gave a low growl...without any territory time would be harder, a lot harder. With no knowledge of the land, no place to store food nor a place to sleep safely, even the experience rouge was having a difficult time making a living. The only solution was to find another males territory, challenge him, and win.

Night | 2 Moons | Female Kit | Location: Outside Clan Territory| Tag; Echo, Open |

It was so loud! The noise was almost unbearable, the vibration sickening, the smell disgusting. What a horrible animal these two-leggers lounge about in...how could they enjoy such a pass time? To sickened to move, Night was curled up under the driver’s of a car tiny forepaws placed protectively over her tufted ears, small onyx nose pressed against the carpeted floor in an effort to be rid of the smell. When would it end? It seemed as if had been going on forever and ever...maybe if she showed herself to the two leggers the horrible sensations would stop? Despite everything Night’s eyes were slowly drifting closed in exhaustion.

The small female kitten opened her electric blue eyes as an a loud screeching noise rent the air...repeating over and over. Night only had eye for the opening to freedom though...she would not question how the wall had disappeared, but it had. Clambering onto tiny onyx paws the kit ran toward the opening only to tumble to the ground, luckily saved by any injury by the snow piled beside the round feet of the disgusting animal. A two leggers shout...Night did not care, she wanted to be far away from that monster animal. Onyx legs moving in a blur the little kit shot off into the brightening dawn, dark fur easily blending in with the tree cast shadows.

It was very cold...very very cold, not to mention the hunger gnawing inside the belly. Shaking her tufted head the small female gave out a cry...quiet but strong. Where was her mother? Where were her brothers and sisters? Where was the big red cave with soft yellow and green grass blocks inside? Determined to find her way home Night trotted forward at a slow but steady pace.

Ooc; For now Nightkit will be call just night until she is formally accepted into the clan.

Sheepcloud
Camp | Tag; Open, mentions Littlestar
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Laying off to the side of camp with her paws tucked neatly under her coat, the older she-cat blinked slowly, drowsily as she watched clanmates moving back and forth on the forest floor. An early-morning meal of sparrow was heavy in her belly, and tucked amongst the moss and frosty leaflitter she could barely keep herself from falling asleep. The round she-cat with her pudgy cheeks gave a wrinkle of her nose, trying to rouse herself a bit, and concentrated back on the cats that pitter-pattered to and fro. Littlestar had made his way down into the open, her yellow eyes followed him curiously from the sidelines and noted a distant look of deep thought on his face, one that the old warrior had seen on the Leader prior quite a bit. At the thought, Sheepcloud beamed and couldn't help when a little chuckle slipped out from between her teeth. The look suited Littlestar, and she knew that once he was confidant in his position he would make a great Leader.

Petrelpaw
Camp, being a general nuisance | Tag; Open
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The dark apprentice was less than enthused to get out of his nest, to him the wet, cold day was miserable and didn't appeal to him in the least, especially after a night of crummy sleep. He hung himself half-in and half-out of the Apprentice's Den, his rear probably blocking the way of the other young cats unless they shoved him out of the hole. Wanting to make oneself great was one thing, but what about when you're just in a crummy mood? Puffing up his cheeks, from his lazy perch the tom gazed longingly down at the freshkill pile. Perhaps a minnow would make him feel better.

Littlestar
Camp | Tag; Sheepcloud, Open
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The tom cat's dark pointed ears twitched a little as he heard a soft chuckle exit the maw of one of his warriors. He turned to see Sheepcloud, a cute ticked tabby, laying in the moss watching him. At first he was a little concerned she was laughing at him but the easy and calm expression on her round face put the young leader at ease. He trotted over to the freshkill pile and picked up a plump vole then trotted over to where Sheepcloud was laying. Placing the vole in front of the experienced warrior Littlestar sat in front of her and used his paw to push it towards her. It was an offering, he hadn't seen her eat yet this morning and it was a show of respect. He knew he was a leader now but he was still a very young cat and any older warrior with wisdom to share was more than worthy of his respect.

"Good morning Sheepcloud." He greeted with a soft voice and casual nod. Littlestar's long tail casually swept from side to side before him. He was obviously uncomfortable with what others would see as simple social behavior. Littlestar had spent so much of his life away from camp he didn't know how to address his own peers. Luckily for him Sheepcloud seemed to be a relaxed and gentle she-cat. She was a good place to start gaining social skills.

Spottedpaw
Camp | Tag; Petrelpaw, Open
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The dark charcoal tabby tom stretched in his nest at the back of the apprentice den. He was ready for the day ahead. His paws were well rested and his energy levels were high. Though his stomach wasn't full Spottedpaw didn't much want to visit the fresh kill pile. The restless young tom wanted to earn his own meals. It was one of his favorite things to do - though sometimes that meant he went hungry. With a quick yawn Spottedpaw shook out his pelt and headed for the exit... only to notice it was being blocked by a lazy butt! Ugh. Who cared if it was a little cold or a little wet or a little dark, they were going to be warriors. They had to be tough and they needed to endure whatever the forest could through at them... not laze around like kitty pets!

"Hey, Petrelpaw... Come on, move it!" Spottedpaw mewed and pawed the tom's rear end in an attempt to get him to shift his butt over and make room for him to get by. The forest was calling and Spottedpaw was eager to recruit some other apprenticed to go on an adventure with him. Where was Skypaw at? She was always up for a romp through the woods. Maybe Owlpaw would like to come out and look for some herbs too. It was then that Spottedpaw noticed that Petrelpaw was greedily eyeing the freshkill pile "What are you, a cat or a mouse? Get your own food. Leave the freshkill pile alone so the elders have something to eat. You should be practicing to hunt." He added pawing the tom a few more times.

Wrenshadow
Border Patrol, The River | Tag; Harriermask
______________________________________________________________________________________________
A sleek abyssinian she-cat strode through the trees, her plumed tail held high with confidence and her intense golden eyes locked into the surroundings. Her sharp ears could hear the gurgling of the brook beside her and the twitter of far away birds. She would hunt for them later, though. Right now she was on patrol and her primary objective was to secure their territory. It was then that she caught the carrying scent of a stranger in their midst... It was a tom cat. With a sneer the she-cat flattened her ears and quickened her pace jogging in the direction of the tom. It wasn't long until he came into view. He was eating some sad looking prey on the other side of the river. Technically he was not in their territory and he wasn't eating their prey but it was close enough for the arrogant female to feel she needed to draw a line for this snoopy new neighbor. Striding up directly opposite to him on the banks of the river Wrenshadow hissed loudly enough to get this new male's attention. Her ears were flat, her pupils were narrow and her tail lashed back and forth.

Ooc; omg... my posts are so... WEAK xD

Harriermask | 48 Moons | Male | Location: Out of Clan Territory | Tag; Open |

Letting out a long yawn the male was startled by the loud noise of a hiss that carried over the sound of the river. Looking for the source the male spotted a rather beautiful looking she-cat with golden eyes and a sleek build. Always appreciative of any and every female Harriermask made a point of looking her over appreciatively despite her obvious hostility. “Hi, Beautiful….I would come over to you on your side of the river, but I have a feeling you are not looking for a male companion at the moment...what a shame. Why so defensive...Hmmm? Do you have little ones to protect...or is it only your pride? “ Sitting up the male perked his ears...it had been five days since he had a conversation with a female...and to Harriermask that was five days overdue.

Wrenshadow
Border Patrol, The River | Tag; Harriermask
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Wrenshadow's tail fur stood on end when the stranger turned to face her. She obviously had very little tolerance for his prescience and was quick to anger. "Your words are insulting." she scoffed. She would not be talked to as if she were good for nothing but his pleasure! She dared him to come to her so that she could tear a scar through that mask of his. Something to remember her by. Her tail began to lash faster. "I am not defending kits, nor am I defending something so trivial as my personal pride. This is Coveclan's territory and you are not welcome here rouge. You are not welcome to hunt here." She growled before she got up again and paced up and down the river bank, her golden eyes locked on the intruder.

Beartuft
Camp | Tag; Petrelpaw, Spottedpaw

______________________________________________________________________________________________

It was days like these that Beartuft was glad to be alive.

Despite the fact that the cold was trying to bury itself into his coat, it had been a while since he felt so alive. Times like these were where he could forget about everything that had plagued his mind for what felt like hundreds of moons. But, and he regretted to think it, seeing such young cats couldn't help but bring back painful memories of his old apprentice, Grasspaw. Starclan have mercy on her soul; she died far too soon. He missed her and her mother. He missed how things used to be, but... He had to move on. He had a new kitten--er, young warrior-- to take care o- train. Spottedpaw... He's so full of life. 'Starclan, please don't take another apprentice away from me.' The thought echoed through his mind.

He quickly shook it away, noticing an apprentice blocking the way to the entrance-exit to their den. The older tom shook his head, padding over to the younger cat. "Come on now Petrelpaw, move out of the way," he meowed, padding over to the apprentices' den. He could faintly hear mewling from behind the other cat, realizing that this young cat was actually preventing someone from leaving.

Oh boy.

Sealsea
Camp | Tag; Mention of Littlestar, Open

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Unlike Beartuft, Sealsea thought this was an awful day to be alive. The tom rolled over, shielding his behind-- an unconscious act at this point. He blinked his eyes open, looking for his siblings. Not that he particularly cared, but they were his last living family. The white cat's first thought was where his smallest brother was, but it suddenly hit him.

That scrap of fur was leader. And he was left behind to be the reject of this stupid family.

Sealsea was raised knowing that runts were always last, but now he was stuck with self-loathing and the inability to truly have any useful talents. All he was good at was swimming. Absolutely fantastic. But enough whining for one morning, he had better things to do than let his "siblings" haunt his thoughts again. The tom squirmed out of the warriors' den, huffing as his paws hit the ground below.

Onyxfall || Senior Warrior || Just outside of camp || Tag: Very briefly acknowledges Littlestar and Sheepcloud, Open

Sea foam green eyes opened one at a time, narrowed against the light that somehow managed to find its way directly to his nest, or more specifically, to his resting eyes. It was about time he got up anyway, though, so he couldn't be too irritated. Sitting up, Onyxfall hesitated for a few moments, allowing his eyes time to focus and readjust to the brighter light. His jaws slowly parted to reveal two rows of menacingly sharp teeth as he yawned, his tongue forming a small curl as his ears flicked back. Taking a deep breath and waiting just a moment longer, Onyxfall rose to his paws, poking his head out of the entrance to the warrior's den. Bending the front half of his body forward, he scratched his claws a few times against the base bark of the tree, yawning again and stretching.

Now more alert and awake, Onyxfall pricked his ears forward and moved more toward the center of camp where he took a seat, tail curling around his side. He lifted his right paw and proceeded to lick the fur on the side of his belly in rhythmic strokes, flattening the tufts of fur that persistently stuck up. Once he deemed himself decent enough, he scanned the premises, debating about waiting to be assigned to a patrol or heading out on one himself. Prey wouldn't catch itself, but he didn't want to risk getting in trouble for heading out unannounced. What am I, a kit? The dark russet tom scolded himself mentally. Anyone would think I'm an apprentice waiting for permission to leave camp with thoughts like that. Still, perhaps there would be the opportunity to go on a patrol later.

Taking his own initiative, Onyxfall passed by Littlestar and Sheepcloud, flicking his tail in a small greeting to the two as he passed and exited camp, already waking his sense to be on the lookout for prey. Opening his mouth, Onyxfall breathed in the scents of the forest, picking up many faint traces of prey, but they were all either far away or stale. The small layer of snow on the ground shouldn't bother the prey too much; one would assume, living in this regional area, that they would be accustomed to weather like this. The senior warrior was already dreading the moons to come when the snow would become heavier and more accumulative. Prey would be even more scarce.

Petalbreeze || Warrior || In Camp || Tag: Medicine cats, Open

Petalbreeze sat at the edge of camp, yellow eyes closed half way as a result of her sleep deprivation from the night before. She hadn't been sleeping well for a while now, but the reason was unknown to her. Perhaps her anxiety was beginning to act up, but she hadn't been feeling any more anxious recently than normal. Maybe she should visit the medicine den and see if there was any herb that could make her sleep better but... that would mean actually talking to someone, and she didn't really know Porcupinetooth all that well. Even her name was enough to keep Petalbreeze away.

Where was Squirrelclaw? Normally the two would share a small meal in the morning to get their energy up before heading out on a patrol or hunt, but her brother was nowhere to be seen. He hadn't been in the warrior's den when she had woken up, and now he wasn't out here. Oh, it was just like him to run off without telling her. Then again, he shouldn't have to tell her where he was at all times. She wasn't his mother, thank StarClan.

Petalbreeze glanced again to the hollow in the great tree that formed the medicine den and felt her breathing rate increase. She hated doing things like this, but her exhaustion was beginning to affect how she performed on patrols. If she couldn't be a great fighter, she could at least be a decent hunter, but not when she wasn't sleeping well. Standing up, Petalbreeze could feel her legs beginning to shake. If only there was an herb that could calm my anxiety. When she was a kit, her mother had returned to the nursery a few times with a leaf for her she kit to eat in hopes to calm her nervousness. She couldn't remember the exact herb-- chamomile, maybe-- but it had done little to help, and so she had stopped taking it.

"Excuse me?" Petalbreeze called softly into the medicine den, poking her head in.

Squirrelclaw || Warrior || Outside of camp || Tag: Open

Silence filled the surrounding forest as the black and white warrior stared intently five fox-lengths before him, were a vole nibbled obliviously on some sort of seed. It wasn't much for prey, but it was better than nothing. He would have invited Petalbreeze to join him, but she had seemed so tired the last few mornings on their routine hunts that he didn't have it in him to wake her. He wondered if his younger sister was coming down with some form of illness, and though he had suggested she see Porcupinetooth, she had stubbornly refused, saying she was fine. If he got the chance, Squirrelclaw would try to catch a bird to save the feathers for her nest. Maybe that would help Petalbreeze sleep better.

Squirrelclaw flinched forward, about to jump at the vole, only to hesitate at the last second. Patience, he needed to have patience. Unfortunately, that was a trait he did not easily posses, and the scent of the vole was beginning to make his mouth water. Unable to last any longer, Squirrelclaw launched himself forward, taking three steps before pouncing on the vole, giving it a hard bat to the back of the head to end it. It was nothing close to being an impressive catch, but someone would enjoy eating it. Quality over quantity, right?

Snatching up the small vermin, Squirrelclaw dug up a small hole and buried it, covering the top loosely with dirt and leaves. He didn't have the time- or the patience- to dig a deeper hole, especially when he would be back to retrieve the vole in just a short while. For now he would continue on and try to find that bird, though Squirrelclaw had never been a master at catching the flighty figures.

Tawnyfeather || Warrior/Expecting || Tag: Spying on Littlestar

Tawnyfeather had always been a carefully observant mother from the time her kits were born. Every sneeze or cough or tumble was made under her eye, and she had (almost) always been there to make sure her kits were not harmed. Some would call this overprotective. She would call it making sure her kits- her pride and joys- weren't harmed. She'd raised three perfectly fine kits. Two strong warriors, and a leader. Tawnyfeather shifted her gaze over to Littlestar, her face a mixture of pride and concern. So young... He was too young to be leader, and she worried the clan would not accept him. Did she approve? StarClan no! Being leader was dangerous, and he just wasn't strong enough yet to take on the hard task, especially not as inexperienced as he was. But oh, she was proud at the same time. The pale brown queen had never imagined herself being the mother to the clan leader of all cats. She was lucky enough to have Sealsea and Mudmask as two strong warriors, but a leader?

He seemed uncomfortable, she noted. Was it obvious, or did her moons of watching over her little tom make her more knowing of his expressions and actions when he was nervous? Tawnyfeather watched as he offered a piece of prey to Sheepcloud, tail tip twitching. Social interaction was good for him. He would have to learn, or he would not make a good leader. She refused to believer that her little fighter would make a poor leader. Sure, he was young, and so very inexperienced, and he hadn't even had an apprentice yet, but... but he would do fine!

Turning away before she was caught staring, Tawnyfeather refocused her attention on another of her kits; Sealsea. Why couldn't he have been the runt?

No... no! She didn't mean that! A wave of guilt surged over Tawnyfeather and she averted her gaze to the soft ground, stomach churning. Of course she didn't mean that! She only wished that... oh, there was no point in trying to defend herself. It wasn't like she had said it out loud, but she hadn't meant it. Tawnyfeather loved Sealsea and Mudmask and Littlestar. Her precious Littlestar, though... oh, he didn't deserve to have been born so small. He was so weak still compared to other warriors, how would he ever make a great warrior like Coldstar had been?

Spottedpaw
Camp | Tag; Mentions - Beartuft, Onyxfall, Sealsea, Tawnyfeather and Sheepcloud
______________________________________________________________________________________________
As Littlestar settled down beside the round warrior, after he had presented her with the plump vole, he once again scanned the clan. The first to catch his eye was Beartuft. A mighty warrior and nearly named deputy of his clan. Littlestar had a great respect for the fluffy tom and had thought long and hard about naming him deputy. In the end, however, Littlestar chose Rowanflame based purely on the fact that he'd known Rowanflame a little better, on a personal level. None the less the chocolate tom was pleased to see Beartuft heading for the apprentice den. Littlestar wasn't sure how well Beartuft would take to his new apprentice... after all the large tom hadn't had an apprentice since... the accident. It made Littlestar's heart sink with pity for the young cat who lost her life and for the devastated Beartuft. All the leader could do now, however, was hope that Spottedpaw would be a healing experience for the senior warrior... then again... apprentices usually had agendas of their own...

Littlestar's jade eyes next fell on Onyxfall as the long-haired tom began to pad out of camp. Was he going hunting? Patrolling maybe? It didn't matter. Onyxfall was a good warrior and worthy of his title. Perhaps he was not the most powerful, most quick or most anything but he was well rounded and his moons of experience were highly valued as one of Littlestar's senior warriors. Littlestar didn't know Onyxfall well and didn't know what the tom thought of him but as Littlestar dipped his head in a greeting and the black tom disappeared into the forest it was too late to find out. He would get another chance to socialize with his senior warrior another time.

It was then that a flame-pointed she-cat caught Littlestar's gaze. Tawnyfeather. Littlestar's mother. Ugh... she was staring again. A chocolate ear twitched in mild annoyance. His mother didn't have confidence in him. Littlestar would swear that if any cat challenged Littlestar to a fight for his place as leader of the clan it would be Tawnyfeather who would first leap into battle in Littlestar's place. It was flattering and he loved his mother but she could be... suffocating. It was hard for cats to respect you when your mother still wanted to groom you, feed you and fight for you. Ah, she was looking away now. Did she notice Littlestar had seen her watching him? The young leader followed his mother's gaze and landed on his brother. Sealsea. The white tom was all alone again. It made Littlestar want to go to him, sit with him and talk as brothers should but... he knew better. Sealsea would reject him. Littlestar's larger brothers had never really wanted much to do with him. Littlestar longed for the feeling of family but instead he got the cold divide of a broken home.

A sad quiet sigh left Littlestar, making his flanks rise and fall, as he turned his eyes away from his lonely brother and back to Sheepcloud to see if she had accepted his food offering.

Tired of waiting for the lazy young tom to move his butt the charcoal bengal decided he would squeeze his way through the apprentice den entrance. Carefully stepping over Petrelpaw's tail Spottedpaw pressed his flank against the den wall and pushed his way past, "You should be ashamed of yourself." he grumbled back at Petrelpaw as he made it out into open air and... oops! He almost ran right into Beartuft's fluffy chest! Spottedpaw looked up at his great big mentor and blinked those large round chocolate eyes at him. "Beartuft!" He mewled a bit awkwardly, no one liked to have their mentor see them looking like that. None the less Spottedpaw seemed to recover from the embarrassing encounter pretty quickly, "Good morning." a quiet rumble rolled out of Spottedpaw's lithe chest as he greeted his mentor, though the large tom didn't have his apprentice's attention for very long. Spottedpaw sat down on the mossy forest floor and decided to lick some moss and bark fragments out of his fur. Guess that's what he got for being impatient and squeezing past another cat by pressing himself up against the inside of a hollowed out log...

Harriermask | Rogue Male | Location: Out of Clan Territory | Tag; Wrenshadow, Open |

Harriermask was truly surprised by the female’s words. “Raising kits insulting?? I was always under the impression that raising another life was one of the most important jobs a cat could ever take on...I guess I was mistaken….not only with that but also with pride. I have a considerable dose of the stuff and it helps when things are not looking positive. Hmm, food for the mind I guess. Clan, clan, clan….where have I heard that term? Oh yes...my mother told me stories of clans of cats with both male and female individuals all working together. The female part was quite promising, but how do all of your males get along together? I would imagine the competition is grueling if all of the girls are as beautiful as you, little flame. Not allowed here you say?” Harriermask’s pale green eyes sparked with humor and challenge. “Come over her and chase me out, if I have created such an atrocity against your clan.”

Porcupinetooth
Camp| Tag; OPEN

____________________________
The quiet chatter of other clan cats woke the normally grumpy medicine cat, her amber eyes opening to glare at the opening in her den where the noise was coming from. Giving a gentle huff in only slight annoyance, Porcupinetooth stretched her front legs out to dig deep into the wood and moss that made up the floor of the medicine cat den. Heaving herself up to her paws with a wide toothy yawn, she proceeded to stretch her hind legs to before padding out onto the branch that connected with the Leader’s den. Her tail swayed lazily behind her as she scanned the camp, taking in the movements of others for any signs of sick cats that could be a problem. The thought of green cough still within the camp worried her greatly, it showing on the spiky she-cat’s face before she quickly wiped it away and hopped down to the camp floor. Her ears swiveled as she padded towards the fresh kill pile, scooping up a minnow before heading back off to settle in a warm patch of sunlight that filtered down from the towering trees above. Soon she’d have to go wake up Owlpaw, if the small she-cat didn’t wake herself up first, they needed new herbs for their stores. Giving a thoughtful hum, Porcupinetooth took a small bite from the fish and chewed slowly, her thoughts wandering elsewhere to other matters.

The sunlight warmed the grey warrior’s fur as he laid calmly in one of the many sunlight dappled areas of the camp. His blue eyes partially open as he needed the floor softly, waiting for orders from the new leader….though he wasn’t sure how much of a leader that Littlestar would be. But only time would tell if he was the right choice to have been made leader. The voice of Beartuft over by the apprentice den caught his attention, causing the normally silent tom to look in that direction and see….Was that Petrelpaw taking up the entrance of the apprentice den? Oh Starclan…. Pushing himself up to his paws with a lash of his long tail he started over towards the apprentice den with even steps and narrowed eyes, taking in this scene silently before deciding to speak. ”Come on Petrelpaw, get up you dormouse. You’re blocking everyone else from getting out and I know some mentors won’t appreciate that.” He said, standing beside Beartuft and ignoring the way he was dwarfed by the larger male.

Sparrowmask
Camp | Tag: Littlestar, mentions other cats, open
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Sparrowmask wasn't one to skip out on patrols, even those in the morning, wanting to always be ahead of the other warriors. He deserved to be, after all. That particular morning however he'd had no choice, since Wrenshadow had unfortunately decided to make an appearance. He couldn't be seen with her. So he'd taken the chance instead to lounge around, sleeping in a little later than normal; it wasn't like he had an apprentice to get up and train, no, he hadn't been given one.

When he did finally rise though, stalking out of the warriors' den, the first thing he did was scan the camp, bright eyes moving and trying to take in what was going on as the haze of sleep left his head. Some young cat was being unruly at the apprentices' den, that was the really only interesting thing. Everyone else was doing what they always did. Geez CloveClan was lucky he was there to keep their spirits up. Oh wait, that was definitely interesting.

He seemed to catch an exchange of looks between Littlestar and his mother; the over dotting she-cat attempting to watch over him in secret. That was hilarious, because it had to be embarrassing for their "oh so wonderful" and young leader. Sparrowmask's own mother had been extremely protective of him as well, so it was a bit hypocritical for him to use it as an insult against the other tom, but he'd use any leverage he could get against a tom he loathed and yet had to obey. The cat didn't deserve his rank.

"I didn't realize Tawnyfeather still had kits to look after." The russet tom taunted as he walked (more like strutted) by Littlestar and Sheepcloud on his way over to the freshkill pile through the camp, his eyes laughing in their dark cover of his face marking with the way his smirk wrinkled his cheeks. He immediately focused on what he wanted to eat that morning though afterward, tail swaying side to side behind him as he decided what looked best.
