Jojo narrowed her eyes before speaking. "Contacting the dead. Shamans don't only heal wolves, but seek council with spirits." She looked back at the controlled fire, the burning herbs giving off an intoxicating smell. She closed her eyes, inhaling the sweet scent deeply. She settled down, tucking her burned paws under her chest and wrapping her bushy tail around her haunches. Settling her down next to the fire, she breathed another lungful of the herbs, allowing herself to sink into the spirit realm.

That's what she expected to happen, like all the other times, but she was alone. None of the other spirits were around. She frowned, opening her eyes. "This is not good. Not good at all." She limped out of the den, pushing some snow to smother the fire. After removing the debris, she sat down inside the warm den again. This had never happened before. She slipped into thought, snapping back only when she heard Ertos shift his weight.

"What have you been doing? Have you had any practice today?" She asked blandly, hoping for something to take her mind of the puzzling matter.

Listening to him she laughed softly "Is that so?" she asked half heartedly, flicking her tail she had pulled herself up "Well, it's better than sitting around" she replied, shaking of his brothers teasing comment as she shook off her patched fur "So why don't we go take a stroll? I heard a faint sound of dogs barking in the distance, and with a bad experience with what comes with tamed dogs I'm not a fan" she added, smiling at Nav as she wagged her tail around softly.
Standing proudly she eyed him down, she had come to realize how confident she had become since she had gotten to know Nav.

Ertos / Male / Shaman
The cream male watched his mentor carefully, confused when she was saying 'not good' a few times. "Judement Day, I have never know you to avoid a matter. What is going on with that fire of yours?" He asked, hoping to sound respectful and grown-up. Ertos had a puzzled expression as he watched Jojo.
Looking out of the den, he saw his brother talking it up with the female he had seen him with earlier. A smile crept across his face. When they were pups, he loved to play match maker for him even though Navdur hated him for it. Cerin seemed pleasent enough, and if she could put up with Navdur she must have superpowers or something.

Navdur / Male / Guard
"Yes! That sounds slightly stupid and dangerous, but I like it! Ohoho, I am /so/ ready for a possible fight!" Navdur said, wagging his tail slightly. That dark furred male's tongue lolled out of his mouth lazily as he watched Cerin. When they had first met, Cerin had seemed to be a slightly insecure young wolf that seemed to spend most of her time trying to cuddle someone or sleeping. Now it seemed that she had opened up a bit, and so had Navdur. "Well then, let's go!" He said with a stupid grin.

Jojo fidgeted her ears.

"I can't seem to reach anyone. Anything. Not even the Spirits of the Hunt. This is not a good thing, Ertos, not a good thing at all. Could they have left us? Could my skills be failing?" She ran a nervous tongue over her nose. "Not good at all." She murmured again, tilting her head as she thought.

Ertos frowned, and sat directly beside Jojo. He could plainly see that his mentor was upset by the discovery but had no idea how to handle it. "Well, what is the most improbable things you think could have happened? Once determine which theories are wrong, whatever is left, however strange it must seem will be the truth. Okay?" He said, remembering something that his father had told him when he was young. He hadn't understood it back then, but he did now.

"That's the problem," she sighed, "I can't think of any reason why this shouldn't have worked. I used the proper herbs, I meditated earlier. . ." She placed her head on the ground. "I'll try again in a week. If they didn't have anything now, they surely will have something next week." She twitched her nose, the pink and black sides wiggling on the end of her snout. "Now tell me, why did you leave a patient? You remember the first lesson, I know you do, never leave a patient alone unless you must get supplies." She raised her dog eyebrow to accentuate her question.

"How did your talk go with your brother" she said smiling seeing him happy for once. She perked her ears ready to listen, she remember how her brother use to always tell her stories about the moons and stars, how he would curse the thunder when it scared her. She tail started to wag she loved her brother and was glad that Ertos finally decided to talk to his brother.

Ertos sighed, seeing that Jojo had returned to her usual self, stern and strict. He got into a more comfortable position and started speaking. "I did not leave her side. Only when I saw her into your den I spoke to Navdur." The creamy male said, keeping his calm gaze on Judgement Day. He looked to Mahanii when she spoke, only slightly interested. "Good, I guess. We didn't talk a ton even when we were pups, but I think he's cooled off a bit and forgiven me." He said, remembering the times when he would endlessly tease his older brother. Looking over the two wolves near him, Ertos wondered what Instrument Day would have him do next.

Letting out a soft chuckle she shook her head "Fine, but lets /try/ to keep out of fights" she replied, watching him get excited had made her roll her eyes in amusement. Atleast he seemed to enjoy getting in trouble with outsiders, flicking her tail Cerin had glanced around- debating if they should back track his brother's path or to make there own.
Wagging her tail lightly she turned back to him "Fiine, let's go then mr. eager beaver" she replied with a chuckle, mocking his lack of patients "We go in any direction you wish to go in! I have no idea where to start" she added softly.
Content to be going on a stroll with the male, would sure as heck get her out of the rut of continuous sleeping and laying around.

Jojo raised her head from her paws, spotting Mahanii at the entrance to her den. She hesitated, slipping her snarky facade and dropping into uncertainty before picking it up again.

"It seems you're needed, Ertos." She saw the look he gave her and sighed. "The problems of your mentor needn't bother you. Go ahead and talk with her. She's a nice wolf after all." She gave him a wink, clicking her tongue and tilting her head towards the new wolf. Lowering her voice, she mock yelled. "Get out of my den, you rat! Waistin' my time for chatting!" She smiled as she spoke, her tail swishing. Even if she held a happy exterior, her eyes betrayed the thoughts that were swimming through her head.

Looking back to Jojo, he had a confused expression. Why was his mentor so eager to get rid of him? Ertos furrowed his brow and looked at her eyes. She seemed happy, but her eyes betrayed her. Usually Ertos could read others pretty easily, but Jojo was harder sometimes. "Judgement Day, I know that look. What's up?" He asked, tilting his head to one side. Ertos hated to see anyone with a problem he couldn't fix.

Navdur / Male / Guard
With a soft muur of a chuckle, Navdur flicked his tail from side to side. He loved a good spar once in a while, but a real fight was always fun. "Well, no promises if I have to protect the damsel in distress." He said, winking at Cerin. He smirked and looked around, knowing that Ertos would be busy with shaman work. Looking back at Cerin, he decided that they would follow a trail that he liked to go on sometimes. It wasn't far from where Ertos found Mahanii, so they might run into some dogs anyways. "This way, I guess." He said, and took a few steps forward.

Jojo cast him a side long glance, swatting his muzzle with her tail.

"I'm fine! Go and have fun. You're a young wolf, you deserve a chance to go outside and have some fun!" 'But you're a young wolf too!' Her brain screamed at her. 'No, I've got the body of a young wolf. There's a difference.' She shook her head, shaking her thoughts and smiling.
"I'm serious. Go have fun. If you won't listen as a friend, I'll order you as your mentor." She playfully batted at his nose again.

Getting up slowly she bowed her head "Thank you again Jojo" she walked towards the den entrance. "Coming Ertos" she looked back with a smile her tail wagging. She looked back at Jojo "don't worry I'll take it easy on my leg and Ertos" she winked back.

Ertos / Male / Shaman
The male followed Mahanii out of the den, a very bored look on his face. Looking back at Jojo, he smiled weakly and winked at her. "I'll make sure to bring back anything we can use." He said in a more lighthearted manner than he meant, and started walking after Mahanii. He sighed, hoping that it would be over soon. He didn't usually spend much time with any other wolf than his brother and his mentor, and mostly because he couldn't avoid it. Mahanii was a bit.. Overly dramatic. At least that's what Ertos thought about her. Walking slowly, Ertos wondered where Judgment Day came from. If he was going to be learning under her, he should at least get to know her.
Recently Ertos had been noticing wolves pairing up. First Soul and Ashe, and now it seemed Navdur and Cerin were spending a bit of time together. He hoped that no she wolves would take interest in him. It would distract him from his learning, he thought.
A mate seemed like a huge commitment to Ertos anyways. He followed Mahanii silently, thinking to himself that mates were overrated anyways. Besides, no one had really stuck out for him.
After a bit of thinking he found himself in a sticky situation. There was only one other male in the pack that he knew of. So maybe eventually he would /have/ to take a mate, but he put it off of his mind for now. That kind of thinking was for later.
Taking his thoughts back to Mahanii, he spoke softly, still distracted. "I think it should be the other way around, but whatever." He said dryly.
