Calico markings female only marking or very small chance at passing to males or that males can carry it but doesn't show up on him they could come in many diferent colors and even be call feline 8 and 9. I think this would be a simple yet very cool marking to have in lioden. they look good by themselves and together. more colors with both markings put together Colors |

I support, but like calico, I think it should be a female only mark (like males with mane markings), with a very, very small change of it passing to males. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I too think it should be a female only marking, because in the real world, calico's & Torti's are female are 85% of the time. 0 players like this post! Like? |

If it was a female only marking, then you could just sex change a female cub... 0 players like this post! Like? |

@ stellaluna well I would assume or hope that it would be like mane markings, where they do not show no matter the opacities. but would be a carrier like actual cats, 0 players like this post! Like? |

Actually having a carrier would be interesting. So a king with calico markings wouldn't show them but could pass them down? 0 players like this post! Like? |

A few things- -Multicolored markings don't exist in Lioden. -To be sex-changable and not have the markings appear, these marks would have to be some kind of reverse-mane-type marking, like when you sex change a male lion into a female and the mane markings don't appear (because lionesses don't have a mane [unless they're mutations], but all lions have bodies). I don't know how hard this would be to code. -I think these are too small and not random enough to be called 'calico' and also become their own marking. You would need a lot of them to get a calico appearance on your lion. -It would be as rare as a mutation for a male lion to exhibit classic calico markings. Calico cats are colored this way because the gene for blending these colors only exist on X chromosomes, and male calico cats are extremely lucky genetic abnormalities. If a male lion DID exhibit calico markings in this fashion, I think it should be extremely difficult for them to produce a male cub because they would have two X chromosomes instead of one (and also because it's my opinion). I don't know how this translates into real life genetics, but hey, this is only a semi-realistic sim. If I come up with more stuff I'll edit my post. If you'd like to PM back and forth with more ideas I'd be willing to work with you on this. My IRL cat is calico and I really want them implemented into the game somehow. I support in theory, but not execution. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@ Royal well yes this would still be considered a calico, it would be considered and 80-85% white or dom color with small patches of color much like the Japanese bob, and this is actually 2 different markings that lair good together. and about the hardly producing males is actually a good idea for the calico color 0 players like this post! no support mainly because of the " female only" part. I am also not fond of the idea of uneven markings due to lions facing different directions depending on the pose/age so it would take more work to design the marks( you would basically have to design them twice) 0 players like this post! Like? |
