The limp form of the newborn cub swings soundlessly side to side in the lionβs jaws. The kill is clean. He walks slowly through the dry scrub, the dawn light just starting to light up the vegetation with an eerie glow. The silver-grey male arrives at a long shallow ditch, the boarder of his lands, and drops the cub at the edge. You can hear the body roll down the slope, and the snapping of dry grass as tumbles down. There is a final puff of dust as it reaches the bottom. The male waits until the rustling ceases, before he turns to walk the boarder of his territory. After a few strides he starts to hum a bit his blue silver tail plume brushing the ground in small sweeps. He seems content with his malicious nature as he wanders in a meandering line. He hugs the edge of the ravine for the most part, tossing glances towards the other side every now and again. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/03/16 @ 10:29:33 by Cairo (#29625) |

The scent of blood was intoxicating; the taste, delectable. Delicious. So was trespassing and flirting with danger. A dark shape slunk along the ridge line, deep chocolate pelt oozing like thickly flowing oil over the dirt. A dark line of blackest fur ran from her burnt nose up between her eyes and over her forehead, down the length of her neck and spine, and ending in a flame colored tail that signaled a poisonous, snake-like danger behind her. Eyes as brilliant as blood scanned the horizon as she padded forward, no particular destination in mind. The soft thud caught her ears, and in the distance above her, she saw the tiny form sliding slowly through the dry, brittle grass, followed by little puffs of dust that hung in the thick air for some time. Shimmering crimson eyes flicked up, maw parting in an almost breathless pant as she eyed the pale male above her. She did not know him and likely he did not know her. Irrelevant. Cautiously, Unzumi glided closer, craning her neck to peer at the lifeless form. A cub. The lioness... laughed. It started as a short, sharp noise, but slowly crescendoed into an almost giggle. Hilarious. She flicked one claw out, tucking it under the cub's chin and pulling the face to where she could see it -- closed eyes, slack muzzle, lifeless ears. Unzumi laughed again. "Poor little beast," she sneered suddenly, and knocked the tiny form away from her with an almost careless swipe of her paw. Red eyes darted up again to the male, and a deep rumble began to sound in the deepest part of her chest. Mm. He could be interesting. Three parallel scars along her left cheek, beginning at the bottom corner of her eye and trailing down toward her muzzle, crinkled as a half-smile, half-sneer showed the whites of her teeth. Oh, yes, this one would be an interesting little toy. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/03/16 @ 13:32:05 by Unzumi I (#21463) |

That eerie feeling you get, when you know something is not quite right settles down Summer's spine. It starts as a little itch, but works its way up to his shoulders as a full blown chill. Briefly, he pins his ears closer to his silvery skull, and takes a moment to look around. His gaze starts to trace the edge of the shallow ravine. It doesnβtβ take long for him to fine the dark lioness, even if her laugh gave her away a few seconds later. His Icy eyes give her a one over. She looked strong, especially in the shoulders. That would be worthwhile addition to his pride. Decisively the speckled beast turns and slowly starts lumbering towards the lioness, but only makes it a step or two before he hears a peculiar sound. WHUMP. He freezes, looking back the way he came. WHUMP. Now he has completely forgotten his investigation of the crazy lioness, and is looking around with a bit more urgency. WHUMP. Miles away, a dark shape spirals in the sky. It is large and giving off a bitter smelling smoke. It draws closer, making that awful sound. Very slowly his maw hangs open. What the hell. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Unzumi's tail writhes behind her in eager anticipation, watching the male's descent with obvious interest. Yes, yes, quite bulky that one, a fine pelt, and a hardened mask across his face that she was entirely interested in breaking down. Then just as he turns his gaze back across his shoulders, the lioness's own face contorts into a mask of utter confusion. Her head snaps up to the sky, but she can see nothing. Whereas a moment ago the male was coming to meet her, Unzumi decides to take matters into her own claws, climbing the low rise to get a better look at... at whatever it was making such a sound. She made sure to leave the male a wide berth (one really never knew if one was going to get a pawful of claws on one's backside or not), but her muzzle dropped open in an incredulous sneer. Suddenly, a growl rips though Unzumi's teeth and she bears them at the strange sound and shape and smell in the sky. That was no carrion bird. She did not know what it was. With one glance at the still decidedly delicious looking male, she raced away toward thick cover, away from the open cliffs by the ravine edge. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Summer doesn't move until the thing's shadow races over him. Even in the bitter morning glow, the shadow seems way to dark, way to large as it looms and departs. And then it is gone. Farther and faster then it should have been. The male lion just stands there, blinking his eyes over and over in confusion and misunderstanding. He is annoyed. Looking around, he saw the female had left during the passing of the shadow-bird. Well that was annoying. He screws up his muzzle in a glare. TODAY WAS GOING JUST FINE. He pulls up one paw and rubs it angerly at his chin. A tick perhaps? But then... BOOM. Summer felt the sound rush through the ground with his pads before he heard it with his ears. He looks up again, hair starting to stand up on his back and mane. Across the small ravine the bird thing fell, thicker black smoke billowing up from it's crash site. And Summer starts walking towards the sound, with quick deliberate steps. He passes the shrubbery where Unzumi waits, offering her direction a small defiant smile. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Runrunrunrunwtfwasthatrunrunrun. The sound fades as the lioness reaches cover, and she turns, panting, blood red eyes darting furiously over head. A grimace screws up her muzzle, confusion mixed with anger and embarrassment over-- BOOM. The dark lioness whirls with a growl, the dark beast now on the ground, covered in flames... and sees the male trotting by her without a care in the world, the look on his face... Unzumi "tsks" loudly, turning to follow, catch up to, and over take the bulkier male with ease, returning his previous look with a challenging smirk. Oh, yeah? Flicking her fire tufted tail, the dark lioness puts on an extra little burst of speed, bounding a single tail's length in front of Summer. Oh, yes, this one would be a fun challenge. 0 players like this post! Like? |

MAD. Summer was mad. Mad that his investigation of the interesting lioness is now sidetracked. Mad that the smoke bird crashed. Very, very mad that it made him feel.. fear. He lengthens his stride as he runs parallel to the ravine. A blur races by, it turns out to be that black and brown lioness. She gives him some interesting glances. Too bad he is too angry to put much thought into it. The smoke bird made him look weak. He canβt have that.. So he will murder it again, and pee all over the place to show it whose boss. It was a plan, a very good plan. A MASTER PLAN. When it gets a bit shallower and narrow, he flings himself across it., using his upper legs to haul his bulk up the side, with a few satisfying grunts. He is making a lot of noise for a predator. Rocks fly everywhere, making what little prey run like hell. Once he is on the other side, he shakes his short bristly mane and takes off again. As he draws closer to the crash site, there is a hush that falls on the savannah. There is one sound, an electronic continuous tone that is emitting from the mess, its low blare very disorienting. As Summer arrives, he takes a moment to scan angrily at the mess, catching his breath. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He's cute when he's mad. Let's see what he does, ladies and gentlemen. Their game of me first, no me first continues as the pale colored male races by her, affording her a lovely glimpse of strength and power. Eyes, glinting with ambition, mischief, and a more than a little bit of cray cray, she watches approvingly as he vaults the ravine, struggles up, and moves off. Not to waste precious energy, the lioness trots easily along the ravine's edge until it closes to an even smaller gap, not more than a little hop, and she is over and turning her paws back in the direction of the smoking ruins. Her nose wrinkles as she draws nearer, sneering at the scent of burning... something... There is blood in that pile of... noise, but she cannot tell what from. She licks her lips regardless. Then the noise starts. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? It causes her teeth to grind, ears to splay to the sides of her head, swivel forward, twitch, and repeat. Ugh. The space between her shoulder blades itches. Unzumi settles back on her haunches, clearly ill-at-ease, but also incredibly curious, mad-eyes trained upon the snowy male, eagerly anticipating his next move. Go ahead, impress me. 0 players like this post! Like? |
