A quiet humming could be heard echoing among the nearly vacant streets, a single boy's arms outstretched as he tried to balance on a steep curb at the edge of the side walk. He had a day off today, seeing as he'd finished nearly all of the research he had all of about a month to complete. So, with his day off, he'd decided to wander about the streets of the 20th Ward, which, according to various rumors, was becoming a popular spot for ghouls, both violent and peaceful.

However, he wasn't here on a job, and didn't even have his Quinque with him. Were he to run into one of said ghouls, he'd most likely die were their intentions to kill. Upon thinking of such a thing, his expression barely changed, not that it ever did anyway. He wasn't entirely affected by the prospect of death, unlike some others in the CCG, all of whom he thought should leave. Joining such an organization without being prepared to lose your life... It was just stupid.

He paused briefly, the faint sound of voices reaching his ears, and turned his head to look. He couldn't see the sources of the sounds, though judging from their pitches he assumed it was a male and female. He didn't catch any words, though, only heard faint mumbles here and there. Which was probably lucky for whoever was talking, hidden in the bushes. Curiosity getting the better of him, Murasaki hopped off of his perch on the curb, humming as he approached the pair of voices. "It's pretty late to be out and about, ya know," he said with barely a single greeting, other than the brief flick of his hand in a small wave.

Giving a shrug and looking the pair over, Murasaki's lips curled ever so slightly into what could be considered a smile for him. "Yeah, well," he said, "I was asking you that. It's not very nice to answer with a question. 'Specially since it just makes ya seem more suspicious."

He turned his attention to the girl with pale white hair, raising a brow at the peculiar color. It was cool looking, he could admit that much. Her apparent companion looked far different, dressed in almost all black and appearing incredibly shady. Not that they weren't shady already, with how lively they were so early in the morning. "Kusari Murasaki, at yer service," he introduced himself with a tiny, half-assed bow. "Just a teenager passing through. And don't ya worry," his sky blue eyes focused on the both of them, as if judging their reactions, "I ain't gonna eat ya."

Blinking when he was pretty much entirely dismissed, showing just a hint of annoyance, Murasaki moved beside the pair. "Mind if I come along?" he asked almost innocently. "I've been meanin' to find someone to talk to, and here ya guys are. Convenient, yeah?" Truly, he just wanted to squeeze some information out of the two, something he found difficult to do with living subjects. Rather than being able to cut them open and have everything shown to him, living creatures struggled and lied. It was annoying.

He fidgeted with his hands as he waited for their response, cracking his knuckles even when they didn't need to be and moving them in and out of his pockets as if anxious. He wasn't. It was more of a quirk of his than anything else.
